Thats an awesome idea, kind of like a password.

Thanks for all the details.

Good idea, but long way ago. They are just trying to drag bodies right now :P

I've always thought a great representation of melee combat would be like Chivalry. But DayZ zombies are a non stop work in progress and they are always testing and changing things until they find the right spot between gameplay and performance.

A temporary rage stopper. Increase fall required to die.
sinkatze replied to KiskilleAcronym's topic in Suggestions
I remember they changed this on one update and it was a lot better, even saw people jumping off the hospital roof and not dying. 4 meters is a distance you could fall and break your legs by the way, not dying though. Still considering that in the mod you would fall 2 steps and die, or break your legs when you opened doors, they are at least improving it. But I'm sure everything is being tweaked as its a long work in progress. -
This was in the mod, whenever you loot something or someone, your character would crouch while doing so. There must be a reason (I'm not aware) why they took it out, but this is a great way to see what other people are doing and it doesn't allow you to just run over loot picking it up. Even if the animation was a little faster than the mod would be cool. Since the game is very social, it is important to see what other people are doing while in larger groups, could also tell if someone is trying to do something fishy. If later on you could add the the "Berry" or "Apple picking" animation every time you have your inventory open (Only when loot is on the ground). Would be awesome! Thanks.

If you think of it, in real life you also sway a lot, with a bipod its less, but there always is sway.

I took a judgement call on what appeared to be a bandit in the tower of Novo. Hopefully I was right and did not kill the friendly group, which I don't think I did, but let me know in the comments what were your thoughts on what happened. And hope you enjoy the video. Thanks!

Glad to hear that, thank you!

Great pics, I can't wait for PBX or any kind of boat to set up fishing trips in Skalitsy island or something! I would suggest also to carry around a cooking pot so you can get extra slots for meat, its like those yellow box containers for meat ;) Would love to be able to hit with the fish in hands so we have fish slap! haha

Yeah very fishy and he was obviously shooting at the guy running around the same floor with no gun in hand, but I like to make sure, especially if I have no way of communicating. I've got to disagree on the Note, I think they are awesome, and finding a message directed to you would be awesome in my opinion. Too bad I wasn't able to get his name or I would have put it in the note to personalize it eve more! Yeah that's true, but on the other side. If anyone would have seen my scoping on that balcony, they would have thought I was a camping bandit, which I'm not. But I wouldn't blame someone for shooting me up there either lol. Thanks man! Yeah I love notes, its so easy now to leave them around with all the book laying around. I always carry a pen and book to start leaving notes everywhere, including your own body for whoever kills you on site. I thought of going up the tower with the guy just to ensure the guy I killed was the bandit, but at the time I was so confused and couldn't figure out, cause if it was his friend, I would probably be dead. So the note was perfect for extra depth like you say. Would love to see their reaction after going down, reading my note and realize what happened to the bandit upstairs haha.

You know you are going to get flamed for combat logging..

Who knows when modding is added, there will be a Wastelands type mod for DayZ.

Its like you stole my thinkings, I agree with everything you said.

I remember hearing Dean a while ago that the current game inventory HUD is not complete and was just a temporary one. I remember he mentioned this is what a Programers HUD would be like, haha. He said that the designers and artists had to fix it up. Is there any news about this topic, or will it just be the final one? Thanks.
-
Yes I know this. I am just asking if they have mentioned something I haven't found. But I'm guessing not?

Yeah this is a great idea, this is how it worked in the mod, without the animation, but if you opened your backpack your character would crouch and if you move, the window would close. Like someone said it would be a great idea to keep useful things in your jacket and pants and be able to open that menu while running, but backpack by only stopping. This would also increase the immersion as you would see what other people are doing exactly. Normally when you see someone running in the field with a gun, you see it as a threat and hide, but they could just be looking at their inventory and miss seeing you easily. Aproching people while they are checking their backpack could be more tactical than just trying to flank them or something. Plus the whole backback management is not really my favorite, I mean the inventory window is great, dont get me wrong. But having to open it every 2 seconds to do anything kind of defeats the purpose of not having a game HUD. But that would be another topic. I would still like to see your inventory open like in the mod at least where when you press TAB your character will stop, crouch and then open.

Wow that picture is beautiful man, wish it looked like this. But how they say, with the new implementations coming they will be able to play around with lighting more, including light not going through walls, which is awesome!

The 99 second timer is there for a reason and that reason is worth the wait. Also its alpha, so many things are being changed and tweaked. People don't understand anymore that games at this stages are not even meant to have fun, so if you are, at least be glad about it. I barely ever have to wait for this timer, because I don't server hop, so if you see this message often, then its not the games problem, its yours. Plus, usually when I get the timer, by the time I go to the bathroom, watch a youtube video, answer an email, pay a bill, eat, walk the dog, wash dishes, clean, or anything! the timer is over. So why are people so desperate about this timer? Don't stare at it till its done, just do something else in the mean time.

I think its hilarious how people complain about 99 seconds, but then spend hours just running.. DayZ is the wrong game to complain about time and patience. Just do something productive, anything!

I Found A Infinate 60 round M4A1 Hacked Mag, Should I throw it out?
sinkatze replied to Rhaptic's topic in General Discussion
Keep it until you run out of ammo and then throw it..oh wait.. lol Just keep it till you find another one and ditch it (but actually try to find another one). -
At the moment the rag-doll implementation is for death only. So right now its pretty easy to know when someone is really dead or just unconscious depending if he falls to the ground with the script animation or as a rag-doll. It would be awesome to see unconscious people falling as ragdolls, this also keeps you wondering if they are still alive or not, especially if the body is far away. I'm not sure if this is possible and/or if this is planned in the future, but I think they could pull it off and it would be great! Thanks.

I really wish people would give a link to what their saying. Anyways.. I always read changelogs, but couldn't find the latest ones, only from 0.46. And DayZ is not very informative with everything they are doing, so I just didn't think there was anything about it. Still great thing to hear that it will be like that.

The DayZ zombies are resembled alot by the 28 weeks later movie
sinkatze replied to TheWizard14's topic in General Discussion
More like DayZ zombies "want" to be like 28 Days Later ones, I doubt in the movie they were able to punch one. Hopefully the new Zombie revamp is awesome! -
People have no patience, they are slowly adding more servers. I haven't been that long trying to get in, and I play on Hardcore which are less. If its hard to log in, I would suggest trying at a different time ;)
