Should we be able to play as zombie?
Garblax replied to martink8190@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Might as well play a survivor then at this point, because this is exactly what happens either way for me! -
Who knows? That's what makes having a car so special and important to a player in DayZ. You learn to covet things like cars and bikes because you never know when you'll find another or if you're going to lose it sooner or later. It's all part of the DayZ experience. I don't have a problem with vanilla servers' vehicle population. I like the scarcity of vehicles because it makes the value increase, enhancing what the game is really about for me. If you have a problem with not enough vehicles, then I guess that's your problem:/

Exactly my point. Why would anyone want to play a zombie survival game like that? Yet there's tons and tons of servers filled like that.

This is a good example of the whole "this is your story" motto. Really, you can speculate whatever you want about the lack of vehicles. Everyone fled in cars and planes at the start of the outbreak. For me, I think the lack of vehicles that you can drive is realistic enough. There's so many destroyed vehicles simply because all the working ones are gone.

Have you not seen the 4000 blown up vehicles along the roads? Also, I always figured the remaining survivors took the planes, helicopters, and cars and left chernarus with them. Simple as that. And if you want more vehicles, why not play on one of those stupid, stupid servers with 500+ vehicles?

Wouldn't being a zombie negate the point of a zombie survival game? Plus, I just don't see how playing a zombie would be fun for more than 10 minutes. -
Poll to have the International hotel have an interior

I see your point about the no helicopter thing, but who's to say it would be too late? You can hear the flies of dead corpses fairly well from a distance, so you'd get a good enough idea of whether you should continue or not. You also have the opportunity to not loot upper floors, near the sniper on the roof? Above all, if you're afraid of going into the cities, then don't go into the cities.. It's not exactly rocket science. You can find loot in other parts of chernarus. -

Not being able to enter buildings in a game. Sorry for the double post, my phone bugged out on me. -

Am I the only one that doesn't have that much of a problem with the city snipers? It's not hard.. If I see a helicopter on the roof, or hear 12 dead bodies nearby in the fire station, I'm not going to hang around too long and if I do and die, then there's really no one to blame but me. People snipe into the cities, that's part of the game wether you like it or not. No ones going to cater to you because you're a big Whiney baby. On another note, I voted yes because I think the multiple floors would add a lot more to the environment of the city, and I also hate n -
Playing With (and honoring) the Dead
Garblax replied to PracticalTactical's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think the dragging and gravemarkers are good ideas actually. You could perhaps lure people to the sound of flies in a bush before ambushing them, or maybe drsgging to hide a body so you can come back with more space to loot it later. Gravemarkers could also be a sort of mood setter, showing that some dangerous people have passed by (in the off chance bandits actually bury the body, maybe so that others won't be able to loot the body? This is assuming you won't be able to dig it up), or that some nice people have come by to show some respect. Maybe to bury bodies, you'd need the use of an entrenching tool or something? That way there's an actual use for them. -
Well you can already mix and match the same engine parts in helos as well as any car.. So I don't see an issue here. I'm looking forward to a propellor powered ATV!

Regardless of quieter shoes or not, how about just taking your shoes off altogether? You would make less noise since you're not necessarily walking on a hard sole of a combat boot, but you would be more susceptible to perhaps scraping your feet, leading to getting an infection? Or maybe whilst roaming the forests or falling a ways down barefooted, you could break a toe, causing you to limp as well? But you'd be a stealthy cripple!
