B) avoid their area It really is not hard to re arm with decent weapons in this game. so PVP is the only solution well that sucks, I wanted a social solution :/ like running their name through the mud and putting them on do not trust list. That sounds woefully boring, this is a Zombie Apocalypse simulator, you're not going to stop Bandits by calling them names or giving them bad credit.. It may be boring to you but you know what I want to be able to troll bandits like bandits troll survivors. -

I will be honest a similar scenario has happened to me, except we had Winchesters. instead of killing "the kid", I ask if he/she could spare a mag, they said no. And shoot me in the back as I went looking for some ammo. This has happened to me quite a lot when grouping with random players. I still have yet to adopt the KOS playstyle because to me it seems anti social. And I'm already enough anti-social in real life :P. So it is the players who over time just give up and adopt the KOS playstyle... However thank god, I'm kind of annoying when it comes to adopting playstyles that don't feel natrual to me. -

Player 2 in your scenario is just a straight up cunt, I mean what was the down side to at least asking for a mag first? I mean the worst the kid would do is say no which than killing the kid would be the only option to get ammo. -
depends on its current state maybe 20ish usd... Now ask me once we get into beta and there is more social mechanics and i'll tell you a better guess of what I will pay for a finished version.

I don't think many of us really want PVP to be punished as we don't want dayz to favor killing over being friendly but currently the mechinics in-game make being a general cunt easier than being friendly. I would love to see kills replaced with time alive. I mean I don't see the point in telling players how many kills they have besides making killing more rewarding and even easier because you know if you killed the guy or if he is just prone and gonna kill you when you show your self. -

what we are bitching and moaning about is that the game has barely any thing besides the survival and pvp systems at the moment. Which is alright due to being alpha but it should be expected that more systems that give more and betters tools for players. Some of these system may allow making safe zones be easier to maintain and set up. I don't see any counter-argument for having systems in play that allow rebuilding, putting up signs, holstering weapons(not in bag but take longer to bring out and shoot.). but we are obviously derailing the tread. I believe the changes in player behavior is that just players are taking the route that has less risks and better rewards. I would rather just make KOS behavior less rewarding than Mugging. However the "cunts" would say we are punishing them but it makes sense that some of the loot gets damaged or broken from the shots fired. -

What he was getting at is there are limited social tools, IE: signs,megaphones,radios, etc... as well as there is no way to set up safe zones that can stop ghosting. a lot of the issues with setting up safe zones have been covered in this thread link. -

Yes While we are at it, remove all starting gear. This would make killing new players for supplies point less. Another plus would be that the small pouch would be used as players wouldn't have the coyote pouch to begin with. -

I scouted out green mountain and with 4 sandbags or C-wire, the location would be secure and only entry would be via the front gate, also the tower provides some tactical value in securing the area. Now the down side is that the tower is very noticeable from a distance. However I would like to point out in my time playing Dayz, I have never come across zeds there. -

True (as a fire is also "built" in some way). But WHAT you build should also not be artificial. But nowhere in this thread I can find anything about "building stuff"? taken from the OP build a small town/fortification second part of his bullets. The point is that a fortification is just a small building with some ways to prevent people from entering it. Yeah, you should be able to build these (you can already make a shed into such a fortification). However, usually people want mechanics so that bandits can't take their fortification as easily, or at least they want added bonusses next to the fact that you have a fortification. Building a town would be ridiculous in my viewpoint. maybe a full town would be ridculous but a small settlement that can be used as a trade post or a small area that provides security and a taste of society would be cool because it would allow players to interact more and at a deeper level, however this would require more dynamic loot spawns but dayz is in alpha so that could also be in the pipline ;) -
