[/quote'] I'm not saying teaming up but being friendly and kind to players you never have meet before. cause coop incentives can be gamed by those you kill everyone not in their TS. The reasons to be nice should be made by the players themselves. Clearly right now' date=' human nature is playing out -- people grouped up with those they trust, and KOS others. <- read that wiki article, you might learn something. If you want to help newbies on the coast with meds, then DO IT. If you want to set up a checkpoint along high traffic paths to kill bandits and help survivors, then DO IT. If you want to set up a trade city which will offer huge incentives to non-bandits, then DO IT. If you want to play on a server where various groups/tribes/etc actually interact with each other, then DO IT. I'm sure we'll see better base building features, radios, etc. But none of that will change the fact that you're a bad player. This game has a pretty high skill ceiling in terms of tactics & strategy, and it's not going to hold your hand and punish the sniper that shot you while you stood still in an open field. Than all rewards for being a cunt should be done so by the player not by the game. And You know how many players I could have just killed with my l85? a lot but quite frankly I don't cause I don't see the use in killing them, plus those I've had to kill for shooting at my group or getting us aggro, i've felt bad about.

Ummm. maybe you are misunderstanding my point. I'm stating that what reward do friendly players have that bandits can't game? Not much apart from a bit of trust. What should they have? So your saying there should be no reason in-game to be nice and all the reason to be a cunt?

    I say lets make get rid of TS being allowed :D However yes, dayz focuses and rewards players killing each other more so than it does them being peaceful to one another. Now I like to see what would happen if the only weapon was melee, in terms of how players interact.

    You're the one asking for the faulty system. There aren't faults in the system as is. All of the reactions are completely on the actions of the players' date=' not the actions forced by the computer. They have no outside influences based on appearance or action that causes anyone to shoot at that player on a character-by-character basis that a player doesn't choose. If a bandit wants to act genuinely kind and then stab you in the back after they have your hand in pact, they can do that entirely with how they speak and how they act. Any wavering is based on a survivor's opinion on their actions, not their outside appearances that were place on them by the system, simply because that's how the game thinks they'd act. In essence, the system is forcing you into a role. Which would pretty much kill the immersion for me. (Not simply because you're changing a skin, but because the game thinks you would instantly want to look like that, thus negating any use of subterfuge to out-trick the other survivors; this kills what I feel is a very important part of the social game in DayZ.) [/quote'] However the system is flawed cause it is more easily gamed than that of watching how someone talks, their tone of voice, how they move, etc. The subtleties are what give our words meaning or truth, without them words are meaningless.

  11. game lacking rpg mechanics, features like being able to build your won fortifications/whatever zombies are not a tret that force players to coop in order to survive. all these problems must (and i hope will be) solved in order to have anykind of good game experience. i'm loneywolfing mostly so it's not a big deal for me, but game really lack that feeling it got before. How is it not immersive that people shoot first and ask questions later in a completely lawless world?     I think the problem is that dayz is missing a lot of the little sudtleties. If you watch the bar scene from the walking dead, there are a lot of little of things that scream this guy is not a good guy, which is what dayz is lacking.

    Maybe they shouldn't server hop high value military locations where some items are only available at and earn them legitimately instead of taking advantage of a broken system.   15. However if we were to find some incentive that can't be gamed by bandits for playing nice than people will bitch and more that its the idea is anti sandbox because it makes playing the nice guy just as rewarding as being the asswhole.

    No way its 15 mins, I've watched bodies at range longer than 15 mins.
