  3. being fired upon is an assumption? your cod argument doesn't hold water because in cod that weapons are semi-balanced so that someone with all the unlocks doesn't have more direct power than someone with none. If I can use a antidote from cod4 in search and destory, I beat got both most kills and objective points for a match were I was level 1 against level 55s, and with what people would call pos iron sights. (but than again Irons were fucking amazing for the mp5 in cod4)

    its an open alpha. :P I mean minecraft was public while it was in alpha. so the idea of closed alphas and betas are hopefully a thing of the past.

    The its in alpha, is used to dismiss an issue someone has with dayz, like how back when minecraft was being made any glitches or issues that caused fustration, people would use its in beta. However at least during that time some people would try to help you out and tell you how to avoid said issue or bug, or even a way to fix any damage the bug did.

    Anyone else feel that .50 cals....

    However an anti-material rifle wouldn't be something you bring just in-case, its something you plan for and have intel backing up the reason to bring it, otherwise it would make more sense just to have designated marksmen with m24/m14 variant weapon. actually there are a camp near the bolota airfield, tents in berezino, tents in cherno, tents in stary, and the barracks at the NWA, as well as what looks like an Planning area in berezino by the tents. So the military force was at least orginized but I agree that very expensive and generally not used weapons shouldn't be in the area as I have yet seen something that makes sense that they were needed prior to shtf.

    yea but a .50cal makes no sense since the military force that came in would most likely not have brought a Anti-material weapon unless there was a need for it. And by the evidence in-game based on the fact that there are medical tents in cherno and that there only seems to have been a single military force in the area that the time would mean that they were there to try and stop the outbreak, which anti-material weapons wouldn't make sense since they are overkill on any soft target.
  16. while we don't spawn with them, Given how common radios are for military personal it would make sense that they would be more or just as common as military grade weapons, I mean they would need to stay in communication with their multiple camps (NWA,stary,cherno,belota,barazino,green mountain). So as well as civilian radios/cell phones would be cool cause than you could have basic channels with them and have encrypted/high freq range with the military radios but they need to be deployed and have a generaton.

    I think you mis-understood what I meant by changing the feel. With new players come new people using possibly different play-styles which depending on the amount of players using any one play-style changes the way the game feels, just like if a majority of players don't kill on sight, it would than change the feel and how we deal with other players.

    I seen the title and thought it was gonna be a discussion about new players joining dayz and changing the feel, instead it was just some bandit bragging about killing players.... seriously why do people feel its needed to post bandit related threads in GD and not in the bandit campfire?

I feel that with TS comes being able to plot to kill your other "group" mates without the risk of being found out, I mean you could set up a private TS server and only you and your friend can get in and plan about it, where as in real life you would have to find a private place to meet and talk but it would be noticable that you two were gone as well as someone may follow you and find out what your planning. While I agree TS and other 3rd party comms are not stoppable it would be cool to see dayz always listen to your mic and be forced to be voice triggered so Private TS chatter wouldn't be 100% secure.
