    A little help regarding "Hives"

    I'm fairly new to Dayz and I just wanted to get my head a round a few things. - Private Hives, These are servers that people spawn in fresh and are hosted by other people? Which brings me to ask, on youtube I have heard of servers that you log onto, and then when you log onto another server, you're in the same place with the same loot and stuff or something? I'm not sure I'm fully understanding this all and was hoping someone could explain to me what EXACTLY private hives and regular hives are? Or the main hive? Thanks
