  1. Hey folks! I've wanted to host a DayZ server for a while and relive the glory days of the mod. Now that the game is reasonably stable and fun (not to mention tweak-able), I'm doing just that! The server is running a vanilla version of the game with a couple of tweaks. At the moment the main one is that new spawns get a slightly more generous loadout (melee weapon, child's backpack, one extra soda, compass). I want the game to feel like classic/vanilla DayZ, but I'm open to making new changes based on player feedback (e.g. more inland spawns). I'm hoping that eventually a few squads of players will make their home on the server and we can have shootouts and all that fun stuff. For now I want to encourage people to settle in, so if anyone logs onto the server while I'm on, I'll offer to bring them some gear/give them a ride in my car. The server is located in New England. The ip is 66.189.43.205:2302 and the name of the server is ~Grognar's Realm~ etc etc. The discord is https://discord.gg/EkCWNCZ Note: I posted this in the main forum before I realized this subforum existed. I'd delete the old post if I knew how.

    Glitchy interaction with servers

My friend is having a problem with DayZ standalone servers. When he starts up his game he can see servers, but it takes him a good bit longer to see servers than it does for me. However, he does see servers with acceptably low ping (as low as 40). But when he starts playing, after a short period of time, he typically becomes unable to use his inventory (the hallmark but not only symptom of this bug), even though he can still walk around. He does not get the "no message received" message. If he logs off and logs back on, the game seems to remember where he was even though he was unable to use his inventory. At times, he will find himself unable to use his inventory, continue playing, and then have his inventory functionality return and simultaneously a zombie will appear next to him, he'll be bleeding and at half blood. This again suggests that he's improperly connected to the server -- but why doesn't he get the "no message received" text? And why does the hive remember his geographical location if that's the case? This has been a recurring problem for him (I've gotten it occasionally too but never as frequently or as badly). Since the new patch (0.33.114926) it has become so bad that the game is unplayable for him. If anyone has any insights, they'd be much appreciated.
  3. In game name: El Chupavaca Location: Eastern US GUID: d60ed24f00f1c87a53f735a2889574 Reason for applying: I'm tired of hackers and consequently want to play on a whitelisted server. Most whitelisted servers have a small population; yours is larger.
