You may have to upgrade your BIOS before you are able to install anything higher than the Athlon. The phenom is going to be about the best your going to get for a quad core on the AM2 socket.

The VSS has been added as a spawning weapon on my server at heli crashes. From experience. It is a one hit kill on zombies at any range you can hit them. You play hell hitting anything past 400m (400m is above average difficult). I'm pretty sure it is a two hit kill on players from 150m, this due to the fact that I shot someone at 150m and it took two shots. They were laying on the ground the second shot (first knocked them out), and the second may have been a head shot, I'm not sure (but my guess is that it wouldn't have mattered, if the first knocked em out, they probably didn't have much blood left). I do have them set as very rare right now. In the 5 days it's been on server I think 2, maybe 3 have been found. The worst part is finding ammo for it.... as ammo spawns at the same rate. In all there may have been 8 mags spawn in 5 days at all heli crashes. Whether all 8 were gathered is a different story.

It depends on what socket type you have on your mother board. Athalon 64x2 comes in two sockets (three actually but one is very rare)..... am2 and 939 Check the specs on your mother board (if its an off the shelf computer lookup the model to see what mother board it has) .... and figure out which socket you have. Your not going to get much better than what you have in a 939 motherboard (you could get the top of the line athlon 64x2, but you would still be sitting at a dual core with just slightly more GHZ and cache) not to mention your going to pay dearly for it (think $150 for the CPU your using new right now) because no one uses it anymore.

I just tested it. 9 shots to the leg of a zombie will kill it with a sa61.

I added the SA-61 to my server to fill this gap.

Is the exact reason I set a server up. I absolutely hate when an admin messes with players.

Interesting, I have the 650 (3 cards below yours)..... and I average about 60 fps in forest and around 40 fps in cherno. I have texture, terrain, object and video memory on very high, HDR on normal and everything else disabled.

I should probably reword that, lol. Its meant as Safe zone with no PVP allowed.

Try: texture, object and terrain detail on high, video memory on very high. Set HDR quality to normal. Disable everything else. Also, slide visibility down to about 800m. Should get you some decent frame rates. The GPU you have is perfectly fine for this game.

The biggest thing is going to be finding a server that is populated mostly by "friendly" people, ie folks willing to help ya learn the game. There are a few non PVP servers floating around, but you will still need to find a community that is willing to help ya out. Of course you could subscribe to the theory that the best way to learn is jump in head first and see what happens. Many feel this is the best way to learn the game (your going to die a lot, and quickly when you first start playing anyway). Apologies in advance but: You could try mine out, there is a smallish (6km2) area that is non-pvp setup, and is pretty good for getting your bearings in the game.

I agree on the audio. I have been in the fortunate situation of being fired at, but missed. In such a situation being able to tell the direction from which the fire came from is crucial.

Look in your server .rpt file and see if any are spawning. Do you have a "spawn_heli.sqf" in your dayz_server.pbo? (This is how mine spawns heli crashes, I know there are multiple ways, depending on the server pack, so spawn them..... if you have this type I can help you in adjusting them).

It sounds like you are logging into private servers. if you connect to a private server, then it is only saved on that server. if you connect to a public server, it will transfer across all other public servers.

All servers are computers =) Go to your FTP, you should have a Battleye folder in there.

Might carry across several private servers, not all private servers are in a private hive.

Its in your battle eye folder..... thats not in the database, its on the server.

I used my telepathic abilities and knew you would post about it on here. So I logged into that server real quick, ran to your car and shot the tire out, then logged off. Only because it's a slow day and I needed something to talk about. . . . . . . I also have some beach front property in Arizona for sale.

Every player that joins an RMOD server must have RMOD installed. There is no getting around that.

On public (official) servers the vehicle stays on the server only. What is on your body will transfer between other official (public) servers. Your position is the same on all public servers. Private servers can be modified in an infinite number of ways, including changing loot vehicles etc. What you find in private servers will only be on that private server. Most of the time public servers will have the default server name, and will have something like US2034 in the name ..... though some private servers look exactly the same as public servers in the name. It takes a lot of trial and error to find a server you like. Try both private and public servers, its all about the community in the long run......

Sheesh folks, read into what he is saying before you jump to conclusions. If he has access to phpmyadmin (the database!) he more than likely either owns the server, or is an admin with a llloooottttt of privileges. Server owners have the ability to do a lot of things in this game to mold the sand box into the form they think their players want to play in. You might want a round one, someone else might want a square one with rocks, don't hate on them because of what they want. Seems this guy is either just responding to what he thinks his players want.... or is putting a tank in for his own uses. Either way, its his server to play with.... players will respond by either staying or leaving depending on how he decides to run it.
