It's true, it can be frustrating. It can also be fun as hell. ;) Just stick around, it will get better over the course of development. Oh and learn from every life. Even the lives when you die from glitches, will still teach you what not to do, or what to avoid.

The m1911 is better than the g17 imo The reason I don't choose the revolver despite the better range and iron sights, but it's got less rounds and waaaay too long between shots. Just my opinion. ;)

What's funny (but not the good kind of funny) is that hackers have more control over the server than the admin does.. I was going to rent a server, until I read up a bit on some various threads about what various admins have to deal with.. I hope the stand-alone version has a better set of controls for the admins, and less "open-source" style clients. That said, it's been a pleasure testing this framework, I can't wait to find out what engine is being used for DayZ v1.0 :D

everything is working fine for me so far. I renamed my existing @DayZ folder and installed the new stuff fresh. I then renamed my existing Arma2oa beta folder and installed the 95819 build.. I will be sure to come back here and QQ if anything is broken though.. I wouldn't want to feel left out. ;)

You also need the Arma2 OA beta and copy the exe from the Combined Operations/expansion/beta folder over to the Combined Operations one. Then you need this for the steam launch options: -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion;CA;@DayZ -mod=@dayz -nosplash -world=empty -cpucount =4 -maxmem=2047 At least that's what works for me.

You guys who are complaining and demanding that rocket "deal with hackers now!" and whining about other minor issues, need to realize that the game is not staying on this engine. We're lucky to have mainstream access.. There's a small "closed" test team, and they know better than to worry about engine specific issues.. we're lucky to be allowed to test the "public builds" stop bitching and be thankful DayZ isn't in a closed dev cycle. Yes, they may be annoying, but every second wasted working on Arma 2 specific bugs takes seconds away from the stand-alone's design. The new version may not even use an Arma engine for all we know.. what's the point in spending dev time on things that don't impact the final product? I know that the current mod is said to be continuing development, along side the stand-alone product, but realize that as mentioned by others in this thread, this is something that is being addressed by the Battle Eye team, and there's already been progress made. I saw a hacker get banned last night.. stop QQ'ing in the forums and go test the damn alpha!

Can someone mirror the 95883 beta patch? I keep trying to download and it keeps timing out. I tried Google, but it's just a bunch of fake exe files and torrent links to a virus. I can usually find a quick alternative download, but I'm guessing this beta update is too new. To be clear, I'm asking for a mirror for the Arma2OA beta 95883, not the Dayz 1.7.2.5 files.

The evil started there.. The mound of bodies is from the initial outbreak. We were working on something there that we shouldn't have been, and now we are paying for it. I was one of the people who fled in a helicopter but we crashed at sea and washed up on the coastline. We must stay as far away from that place as possible, if we hope to survive. Haha that's a laugh.. like any of us will survive for long...

I've watched Seananners for ages, his DayZ vids have been no exception. This is the first time that I've seen him do questionable stuff other than some harmless griefing and stuff like that. Did he get excited and allow the hacker to spawn shit for him? Yes. Did he use any of the stuff in the context of the game? No. Did he use any hacks of his own? No. Did he keep the hacked gear? No. He got the hacker to kill him, thus ending the risk of being banned for knowingly having hacked gear. The bottom line is that he listened to Goldie and didn't keep the gear. As far as I know, only the hacker can be banned, but Adam still didn't keep the gear, even though he wanted to. Did this video make me want to go out and find a hacker to spawn me some phat gear? Of course not! The fun of finding stuff is half the reason I play this mod.. the other half is keeping the stuff I find. :) I'm not condoning what he did or didn't do, but I definitely don't see any reason why he should be banned for anything that I saw in that video.

I've not died since the update, so I haven't had any need to use the button. I did break my legs up on "That Mountain" a few days ago, but the Reddit Rescue Force came and healed me up. I'm not too concerned about it either way, I used it to get a better spawn maybe once, but for the most part it makes no difference to me where I spawn.
