Official DayZ Brony & Pegasister Meetup

Which time? There was the Poison Joke (which wasn't a joke) where she got sick and thought she was cursed, but you're probably referring to the time she broke her tooth.. ;) -

Has this happened yet? I'm happy to offer security to this and all/any future events, if needed. Good luck friendship friends. ;) -

My opinion is that a large percentage will play the stand-alone, who have decided to "take a break" for now. I for one haven't played on the Chernarus servers lately because I've been playing Lingor.. There are also Utes and Takistan maps getting played as well. While it's true that the playerbase has dropped to half of what it was at the peak, a large chunk of those "missing players" are active in the other maps which aren't tracked with the rest. Even without the private hives and other maps, 70,000 people is still far from "dead" I'm pretty sure we can expect to be back up in the millions, once the finished game is released. -
I got wood.. It's in my house too! ;)

If it "settled" as a previous poster called it, it should have the items intact. On my clan's server, we usually need to do a double reset to be sure that things are normal.. It's an annoying thing, but you know.. alpha and all that.. :P

Is there any way of exploring Chernarus offline without zombies?
cyanyde replied to HHRoblox's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You could also use the armoury, but you won't be able to pick a spawn point. The editor is your best bet, as mentioned, but if for whatever reason you are unable to get it working, you have a second option. -
It should be fine. Ignore the douchbags, they look for any reason to jump down a person's throat. Just keep in mind that sharing one account means that one of your friends could possibly lose the gear that you worked hard to collect.. Remember not to get too attached to your gear. ever. ;)

I believe he is commenting on how lazy people have become because of little short-cuts like this.

I fell in love with the FN FAL recently.. not the cheesy one with nvg, the iron sight one. It's just too bad there is not much ammo around.. good thing it's usually tucked away in my pack in favour of the hatchet. ;) As for sidearms.. I'm torn between the m1911 and the PDW.. but since the 1911 is pretty common, I'll say the PDW because of the fact you can pretty much stick anything short of empty tin cans in it and it will shoot. :)

I agreed with you up until the duping part. There's no need to cheat and no sense in trying to justify it no matter what. Besides, it's easy to find high-tier stuff, as you mentioned, just loot it from people who *did* dupe it. ;)
-
It will mostly come back after the next server restart. Last build we were having problems with the gear vanishing, but if you've had the tents as long as you said, then if anything they will just keep duping gear every second restart. Dunno if that's all servers, or just ours though.. I haven't played in Chernarus for awhile because I can't use tents properly and I'm all kitted out with legit stuff. I'm on vacation in Lingor atm.. ;)

The FN FAL is my favourite gun in the game. I also <3 the AKM, so I'll usually have both, but If I found a different primary and wanted it, the AKM would go before the FAL. It's also extremely satisfying getting a head-shot with it because of the kick and the sound. It might not be the best gun in the game, but it's definitely my favourite. :)

Lingor Island Vs Chernarus, which one do you prefer for a private hive?
cyanyde replied to devilsnight's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
When I started playing DayZ, I used a loot map to figure out where to go and stuff. I won't say it ruined the experience, but it definitely took away some of the fun. I have only used the in-game map for Lingor, and it's a hundred times more rewarding in terms of when I find rare items. My favourite experience in learning the map is has definitely been Lingor, but when I think about my favourite over all, I can't help but choose Chernarus for the win. <3 -
op is a Doctor Who fan.. I like him much more since realizing this. ;)

Nice update. Thanks Rocket! :)

I was kind of thinking that when I watched it. What if I mess up with the scroll wheel? I've done it plenty of times trying to switch guns, and wasted a round or three.. Then I realized that the stand-alone will most likely have a different style menu. (based on Rocket talking about redesigning menus) I'm sure it will suck during the alpha/beta stages, but I really don't think it will be a problem in the long run. (aka. I don't mean the stand-alone, I mean the mod when it's open-source) I for one don't really care either way about the dogs.. I wish they would just stick with the basis that they have now and focus on refining the netcode, optimizing the engine, and working as closely with battle-eye as they can. That way when the stand-alone comes out and Rocket hands the mod over to the community, whoever the brilliant people who take it over are, will be able to add cool shit like dogs and bear-traps (not invisible bug-festered ones of death) and fucking grappling hooks or whatever.. I definitely want them to add non-audible signals to the dog tho.. no way in hell I'm going to whistle in a bad situation.. Either way, I'm not worried about the stand-alone, but I will totally admit that the mod has engine problems, which would take waaaay too much time away from proper development for the actual dev team to worry about. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Rocket jumped into the dayz mod community now and then to toss us a new build to play with, in the future. He did mention using it as a pool for ideas afterall.

I had a dream last night that I was playing the stand-alone, and I found a 2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew! When I woke up, it was gone, and I had spawned back at the coast with no gear. :(

In case anyone is genuinely interested in an official bug list or recent info from rocket, these two links will make you happy. Here is the Dev-Heaven link (official bug tracker): https://dev-heaven.net/projects/dayz And here is the stickied thread with all the recent interviews: http://dayzmod.com/f...-from-gamescom/ -

Pretty good reading skills ya got there. There is actually a thread for all the gamecom interviews.. Search function is your friend. There's a specific section for dayz on devheaven.. Again, search and you shall find. Here, I decided to spend a couple minutes and find the links for ya. Much better read than the countless threads whining about stuff or threatening to quit playing for various reasons. I'll give you beans for that alone. ;)

Mod reached it's peak... See ya in full game
cyanyde replied to FrostDMG's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wow. You know.. The biggest problem with this mod isn't the bugs nor the hackers, and it's definitely not lack of communication. (I've lost count of how many interviews rocket has done recently) its the self-entitled little children screaming fix it or I'm quitting! How about you trying doing what you've been given access to the mod to do.. Test it! The point isn't that the recent info on the new build was posted on Page 130 of a giant thread. The point is that with 30 seconds of searching you can find the info that you want. Once the stand-alone is released, the mod will pretty much be open source. Wait for the full game or stfu and play a different way. I've experienced the majority of issues myself but because I understand where things stand, I accept that this mod is nearing its end as far as official support goes. I don't try to play it as if it were finished, I continue to find new issues to report and play for fun. It's nice once you realize that you aren't meant to play like it's finished.. You stop raging when you lose gear and just play more. Trust me. The final version of this game will be totally playable and it will attract even more players because it will be better supported, easier to install and the development will have full access to the engine. It sucks, but the reality is that some of these bugs probably won't be fixed in this mod, but they will definitely not take long to fix in the full version. Tl;dr be patient and be thankful you were even allowed to test this "proof of concept" before it was given a green light for full-scale development. -
Depends on the server. Also, in my experience, tents that were made and loaded up before the update will respawn all their gear every server restart. If you pitch it in the latest update, it will delete everything when a server restarts. It also will clone the tent, if you pitch it then pack it in a couple different locations, but it still won't save gear afaik. Hope that helps.
