I could point out the same to you. Difference is, none of my posts had any ill-will intended, and were merely meant in the best interests of everyone who plays this mod. Yours were meant directly at me as a way of singling me out as some sort of wrong doer.. or something.. Meh whatever.. I can't connect either, so at least we can relate on something. There are good people out there. But the majority *will* shoot you on sight. You just have to be vigilant, because even someone who starts off friendly, will put a bullet in your head if you give the wrong person the chance. You want realism? You got it, because in a real apocalypse, it really would be the same way. (imho)

sooo, apparently I can't connect to any servers because of some ddos issue.. if the person or persons responsible are reading this, please stop.. it's not cool, it's retarded, so go attack some Minecraft sever or something and leave DayZ alone. (please?) I doubt that will work, but it's worth a try. :P

Bingo! :P I'm content with what we have now, other than leg breaking, it's pretty damn playable as it stands. Besides, the longer the closed tests go on, the less there will be for people to bitch about when the update does get released. I'll wait as long as it takes, and I'll have fun playing the current build the whole time! ;)

I was curious about how much data is sent back and forth when I am playing DayZ. (or even just Arma2 for that matter) My Internet is not working at home, but I was tempted to try using my Android hotspot on my phone to play while it's down. Does anyone know how much data is actually transferred, during an average session? (let's say per hour, if it makes it easier) I know I could probably track it myself with some program or other, but I don't want to risk going over my data limit, until I have some idea of what to expect.. assuming of course that the connection is fast enough to be worth playing with to begin with. D: Thanks in advance! :)

Can you Take Ghillie Suit off a Body?

If you get killed wearing a Ghillie, you're doing it wrong. No one should ever see you. Ever as long as you're wearing it. My advice, keep civi clothes in your inventory, they switch with the ghillie package, when you put it on. You're much less likely to be killed wearing standard civilian gear than the suit, and when you return to the comfort of the wilderness with whatever loot drew you towards the town or city in the first place.. put it back on. Nothing better than being self-sufficient in the wilderness for days at a time, and you will eventually realize there is no real reason to go back to civilisation, after you get used to living off the land. :) -
I'm down with joining up with you guys. I'm not a new player, I have 100+ hours logged so far and I've been playing the same character for 3 days up in the northern wilderness, hunting and refilling water from lakes and wells.. That said, I'm bored so I would love the chance to help some newer players gear up, show you some good loot spots etc.. just don't stab me in the back because I went solo because of all the un-trustworthy players. It won't hurt me to lose my gear so much, but I'll definitely hesitate to help anyone else in the future if I get stabbed in the back many more times. :P Anyway, just send me a pm here, or add me on Steam. So apparently the people I stole the car from were server admins, because now the server has been reset and my car was gone. I guess it's possible that someone else found where I stashed it, but it was pretty out of the way and there was a warning about clearing out tents due to server reset or whatever, so I feel like they did it to get the car back.. Too bad too, I was planning a nice road-trip through all the major cities at full speed for today.. ah well, next time. :p

I stole a red car from some bandits yesterday, so I know the cars work. Incidentally, the server went down right after that, and when it came back up there was a message about the tents getting wiped today. Does that mean my car is gone from where I hid it as well? :P

I heard a rapid heartbeat once after meeting a random player in a barn once.. As soon as I heard it, I shot that fucker in the face with my (at the time) double barrel.. Unfortunately, he didn't go down for some reason, and he turned around and shot me dead. The heartbeat thing really messed with my mind tho.. As soon as I heard it, I knew I couldn't trust him, but he was acting like I could.. I really hope something like this makes it into the finished game. :)

I agree with the scary beartraps thing btw.. If I spawn in, in the middle of the woods, and some dude laid a beartrap at my feet, while I was sleeping.. I'm pretty sure I will freak the fuck out! (on my next spawn..) But I definitely understand the fun spin that it will put on the rest of the mod. :)

I like this idea, I just don't think it's quite the time to put stuff like this in the game. That said, there are some really, really cool ideas already put forth, and that makes my mind boggle at how cool this mod is going to be when it's done. :)

Keep in mind that you don't always have to worry about ammo, if you're not firing the rounds. I've had the same 2 MD5SD mags for 3 in-game days, and I've only used maybe 2-3 rounds out of that time. Granted I've used a few m1911 mags in that time, but a suppressed gun is situational. Learn to conserve ammo, then figure out when to shoot. In any situation that is under your control, you have the choice of weapon.. As for finding what you need, it completely depends on if you have a bunch of buddies that you play with, or if you're entirely on your own.

LMAO! I just stole a car from some dudes in Kabanino! I was creeping my way towards the water pump, when all of the sudden I saw a red car, and 3 dudes on my map (the orange blips) I crouch-ran to the car, hopped in, and tore off in it, laughing my ass off the whole time. :D When I stopped to look at my map a mile or two off, there were three orange blips pointed off in my general direction. I'm still lol'ing.. ;) edit: I figured out how to find the server. :)
