Honestly, buy it for Arma2 and enjoy all the other kick ass mods that come with it. I bought it for DayZ but very quickly realized that it was the engine I fell in love with.. the DayZ mod is now nothing but a perk. ;)

Yeah this worked for me as well. I have a gaming rig that can max out Farcry 3, but Arma 2 is a beast on the cpu. Make sure your video memory is set to "default" I've heard using other settings can be an issue. Yeah it's noble that you want to troll them, but if he was a hacker you would have spawned 1000 feet in the air, or possibly turned into a cow. Chances are he wouldn't have reacted by spinning around frantically trying to shoot the person who was probably scaring the shit out of them. Ah well, it's the thought that counts. ;)

1. Hmm let's see, never used SS so not sure exactly, no drag and drop, but u can add stuff (vehicles etc on the map) 2. Yes you can see live players and vehicles. 3. Support tickets are very fast. They also have live support via irc which is even better. 4. yes, maps get updated regularly, as do arma updates and patches. 5. Yes there are warnings on restarts. I believe 30, 10, 5, 1 minutes before parch. DayZ.ST is awesome, been with them going on 3 months and I am extremely pleased. DO IT! :)

Uh EVR does 6000 damage, in the 0.73 build there is actually some warning first, and you can avoid taking damage as long as you're in (most) buildings. The bunker doesn't count for some reason, but imo it should. As for the helicopter, it's up to the server admin what vehicles are on his map.. on mine there are UH1H's instead.

My clan is running this map on our server. We've encountered both additions and they are both crazy. The Blood Sucker appeared behind one of my clanmates and started growling.. he was freaking out in Mumble and it was hilarious! As for the "event" it happens every hour or so, seems like a good way to keep people from just hanging out in the wilderness.. if you get into a building, you will blackout but you won't lose health. If you are in the Wilderness when it happens, you lose about 6000 blood. D: Seems to make things a little more intense.. come join us and check it out! :)

Nameless Gaming is running the new version 0.72 on our server. We're loving the new features and holy crap, the blood sucker is a beast! :D

The only "crazy" thing that will happen is that people with high-tier gear will be a little less worried about losing their "kit". They might even venture into town for some pvp or maybe even help out some bambis or something.. Hell, I bet there're people who haven't played in weeks/months with 100+ day old characters who will finally log in and then die to a hacker 2 minutes later. ;P

I have one of those too, but I don't charge anyone to access it, although donations are always welcome.. As you can see from my control panel, I have access to all sorts of goodies. Also, clicking on that minimap will take me to a large, interactive map which shows all the vehicles and player locations on the server.. you can even make it "live" so you get trails where all the players and vehicles go. I always wondered how players could just show up and kill me when I was deep in the wilderness somewhere, or when I come across a clan's camp on their server and they somehow knew I was there despite not being online.. Trick is to have a bunch of good dudes that actually want to have fun with you.. not use their "hacks" to hunt you down and give you free butt sex. Anyway, here's what I get from DayZ.ST :)

Yeah I just rented a server yesterday and was surprised by how much power I have over the server. I changed the starting gear slightly, on my server you start with a bandage, morphine and a hatchet. It is pretty nice spawning with *something* to protect yourself with, but other than that, I refuse to abuse my power.. I was tempted to spawn myself a helicopter, but that would take all the fun out of finding and repairing one. You also can see where players and vehicles are, which can obviously be abused, but in order to use it, you have to open the map in your control panel.. Private hives are supposed to be for communities to play together, but a shitty admin can definitely abuse it easily.

I agree, I've run servers for other games in the past, and not only is this the best DayZ server provider, it's also been the best overall server hosting experience I've had in my gaming career. Great job! :)

Are there slots available in Dallas? I would like to switch my server from Utah when possible, I live in Ontario, so Dallas tends to give me better pings than the West coast does. No rush, just curious.. things have been great so far. :)

Ah got ya, thanks for the reply. I played around with the loadouts but I haven't messed with the database yet, is there anywhere that I can read up on what does what? (link?) I don't want to mess with it without having at least some idea of what I'm doing.

Any word on specifying the starting backpack in the load-out options? I don't see any way to change what pack my players start with. (trying to make the "Czech Vest Pouch" the starter pack) Also, I have my server set to "always daytime" and it's currently night time.. not sure what's with that.

Yup agreed.. so far so good. I've just been messing with the starting load-out stuff, does anyone know how to set the starting back-pack to a Czech Vest Pouch ? I can find everything but packs in the options.. :/ As for the rest, the starting loadout for my server is: 1 bandage, 1 morphine and a hatchet.. I think it's a fair start. :) (ps. I've got night turned off for now so a flashlight is redundant.. that said, I have plans for this server...) ;)
