BikerZ: A DayZ Mod
fubar_in_pittsburgh replied to fubar_in_pittsburgh's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Awesome. A devblog will be started soon. ... F'n South Park... Not using any real world clubs out of respect. We only have a handful of Pagans (and for those of you who did not know the Pagans are a real outlaw motorcycle club who oddly played the motorcycle bandits in the original Dawn Of The Dead, George A. Romero used REAL outlaw bikers to PLAY outlaw bikers, god I love that man) left near Pittsburgh but I would rather not piss them off. I have created five clubs that are kinda based on real world clubs. Only people familiar with the culture will notice the references. Nice to see another 'yinzer' on the forum BTW. Once again, f'n South Park. Just like the Native American episode that was a little on the nose for me. -

I got this as well. Anyone know how to fix this problem? I'm getting pissed. Uninstalled Arma 2, OA, and DayZ. No longer getting the weapon error message. Still getting the 0x00000000 the memory could not be written message. -

Use for razors and toilet paper
fubar_in_pittsburgh replied to tylerwatkins369's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
When a molotov is made, small stones or bits of metal are put in so that it hits with enough force to shatter the bottle. So razors could be broken up to serve as scrap metal. -

Same here as far as private hives go. To new players, starting with a gun is a good idea. Finding a weapon is a pain in the a$$ for a person new to the game, and could turn people away from it. But lets face it, this is not going to impact the rest of us because most of us veteran players play on servers with custom load outs. IMHO, a Makarov is a POS weapon anyway and just draws more zombies to you. But to a noob its better then nothing. -
It's easy when you are bleeding on the ground face down from a sniper bullet with a broken bone and surrounded by zombies.

Why DayZ will fail as a standalone game
fubar_in_pittsburgh replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
1. Are you kidding? Many offline games take that long to load. Is this the only video game you played ever? Go to Steam, download any of the free MMORPG's there, and see what the loading time of a tripple A MMO is. 2. Umm, no they wont. People rage, get over it, and log back in. 3. We have no clue what features are being worked on. We get a rumor hear, a rumor there, but for the most part, we are seeing a media black out on par with The Dark Knight Rises. The only annoying thing I can see is the emphasis on "realism". 4. If anything, the delay has helped DayZ. It gives people enough time to get the bad taste of War Z out of their mouth. Plus, do you have any idea how long it takes to make a video game? And how many people work on it? Rocket is not sitting at a desk grinding out f'n code? In short, you have no clue how this industry works from any standpoint. -
