AMMO should be Rare like in Resident Evil 1

I find ammo rare enough, unless you're a barrack hopper maybe. -
If you latency is good than you can kill any zombies with melee weapons without getting hit. Much like the pistol technique in the mod, fight them while walking backward, when they get close to you they'll stop for their attack animation, right after you have a small window where you can get close and get those melee hits. I guess you can also circle them.

This is precisely what makes it fun and should be let unchanged, I could understand the issue in the mod, but know, you can easily be distinct from another player with the different outfits.

I agree some tweaks are needed, but I'd like to be able to tear a rag of my own shirt to bandage the plea. If it's already possible, nevermind ! ( I know bandanas are tearable, didn't even try with my own shirt yet.)

What to do with ? remember, both weight approx 15kg with empty mag, that's just 5 time the weight of an AR, which would also let you be more mobile (shorter lenght). It has an insanely high space-weight/ammo capacity ratio. So yeah, I don't really see why you would bother actually. Unless you plan and sit to snipe ppl 1 mile away, which not always fall on the zombocalypse agenda. -
I read through it, and only saw few people getting personal, i saw misinformations and people getting corrected for it, and taking it as bashing.

I bet if the patchnote just said : -Introduced texture variety (canned food, soda etc...) people claiming immersion breaking would'nt have even noticed it. Anyway, I'm quite astonished by the over reaction.

It's funny how the DayZ project is like a real blessing, a dream finally coming true, in the heart of gamers, a real breath of fresh air, (and even more for lovers of FPS genre/Zombie flick fans), yet, some feel lost and still ask for it to fit in the same old mold, gimmicks and what not,.they still want to be taken by the hand. The questions raised are good, but OP should follow more carefully the devellopement of the SA (we're quite cherished regarding it), but those kind of suggestion doesn't fit. In this case for example, its because in the mod, infected are merely an annoyance, so this should worked on, not build something to work around it. -
A Way to Introduce a more Work-together environment?

Even though the idea is interesting, I don't see a way to fit the meta. In addition, the main thing that should entice people to work together is their will to do so, otherwise we would have safe zones, group system etc... -
To OP: I don't blame you willing to get what you want, but I believe you mistaken the direction DayZ is taking, here's a quote to remind you of it: "DayZ was designed to be impossibly cruel, dark, and brutal. Trapped in balota ACT, low on blood, under the staircase. A friend arrive for the rescue, while he was giving me blood bag someone appears on the porch, since he was armed I unloaded my AKM under panic, he drops dead. We started to move out but someonelse was camping the staircase between the two floors with an einfield (they were one shot one kill), my team mate is killed, I manage to retreat back under the stairs. Knowing my team mate had a smoke nade, I loot his deadbody, throw it out, wonder if it'll eventually glitch-destroy the ACT, wait a few more seconds and run out. Fortunately the other dude wasn't that smart, because I managed to flank him using the outside ladder, he was still there, looking down on my previous position... -bam, headshot- Was my most memorable kill, since it was the first time I put myself in a situation where I kinda 'had' to murder to survive. -
[Item Suggest] Zombie Repellant Idea

Maybe the longer you use it, the higher the chance of (different kind of) infections, with a small chance to get the infections as soon as you use it. I like the idea but think it should be a last resort solution. -
How much internet does DayZ use ?

I guess it does, but it could be tweaked to only record/write within a limited radius from the player, to prevent people from looking for camps etc... Everything outside wouldn't be in the 'theater' script. -
Waypoints only allowed with a GPS

I'm for the removal of any type of HUD indication, including 3D waypoints. Even mag and ammo count. -the frenzy reloaders will go crazy- For that matter I'd rather check manually (if mags have indicator holes) or even have to pull the rounds out to know for sure, but that's off topic) Regarding GPS, I'd imagine two kinds, a car GPS (uncommon) that ofc only works for roads, and pedestrian GPS (rare) that would work a bit like the one we have actually, minus the 3D waypoint. This, not to be more realistic, but in order to have a more authentic experience. -
For the sake of authencity ? Military grade weapons are going to be a lot rarer in SA. Also, even though I live close enough to a military base, the choppers I see the most often are hospital choppers, and the one that watch the coast. And sometimes a military one, with no gun mounted. Of course guns could be mounted, the point being, civilians one are more comon around here.

Why not a Medivac chopper ? or a coastal guard one ? be it any model, but no guns and with flashy colors.

I'm from an island where most of the energy comes from petrol ,one of the highest electrecity cost in the world, because it's imported. No need to precise that if the ressources are cut, the lights are out. As for solar panels, in theory it works, but beyond maintenance, auto sufficient buildings are not really encouraged to share their excess of energy stock through the grid(as in large scale), as it's not profitable for the people behind the actual systems. So only the few buildings which already have it could benefit of an eventual reprieve.

With the hostile atmosphere (K.O.S, betrayal, banditry...) and the infinite ressources (loot respawns) I don't see a complex trading system working out. also, returning to a monetary system after an apocalypse, would be pretty stupid. -
We're talking about an engine exclusively developped for PC here... So I'm not sure what you try to say here. Rocket talked about such issues like a player proned in the grass in an open field. He said the shaders were different for the SA. Hope they'll find a way to fix this.

I believe walking (as opposed to running/jogging) makes no noise at all. You hear it, but the ennemies won't. It indeeds need some tweaking, but in SA there'll be several shoes models, even the possibility to walk barefoot., so let's hope it'll be adressed then. -

Now that think about it, I encountered a slightly similar situation once in my early DayZ. I arrive in Cherno with a M1911 and a few rounds, gunshots everywhere. I go straight to the Firehouse, nothing to loose. I found an AK and a mag, the moment I decide to get out, another survivor moves in with a revolver (they were really deadly back then) I fire few shots from my cover, near the staircase. I hear the distinctive noise of his leg's bone projected on the wall behind him, he dropped and yell "friendly... friendly... ! Gonna drop my gun !! You can get it" Kinda shocked and amazed by his natural will to survive, I move out and bandage him, he then insist that I take his gun (to instore trust I believe) I only take a clip, and let him have it back. For the little story I actually went to loot the hospital to give him morphine and a bloodbag, we then headed north to Novy like best buddies. Twas the first time I was in a hold up situation of some sort, I had a glimpse at the mods potential, and damn it was thrilling. Voilà ! Hope it'll entertain you a bit at work while I selfishly practice my written english on this forum ^^
