  1. I don't have Dayz yet but I've just been exploring in a chopper in Arma2 Free and found a tiny island almost off the East side of the map at Ref:-238153. I don't know if it's there on the Dayz map but if you fly/sail east-sout-east from Skalisty Island you may find it. A very remote place, indeed. Edit- Just did the round trip by PBX and it took about 30 minutes and used about half the fuel in the boat.

    Thermite Charges...

...For the quiet(er) destruction of vehicles/materiel and burning the crap out of other players who are too close? The downside could be a highly visible light at night. My first suggestion...my apologies if it's a crap one. Edit - I see it has been mentioned before. Should have done a search first, sorry.

    Huge Structures in DayZ SA

The only thing Cherarus really needs is:-

    heavy weaponry

Yep, I think the problem with that short maximum range is you would be just as well off with the M203. My thinking is that the M79 could use any available M203 ammo, have double the range but not be too 'unfair' like a mortar might be. It may be worth noting that tear gas would be unlikely to be found in a military area because it has been banned for military use in most countries. Police stations might be the best place to find it. I don't know how CS/CN would effect zombies. They're fictitious so.....

    Thermite Charges...

Thermite is more incendiary than explosive and not really suitable for any type of 'bomb' as such. It's reaction is just very hot and the net result is a bright light, a cloud of aluminium oxide, sparks and a stream of molten iron that wrecks anything it touches. As previously mentioned, it can also be used for welding and casting and might therefore be useful for repairing/making stuff...tools, weapons and such in-game.

    heavy weaponry

There are Russian equivalents, but they're not 40mm like the M203 and don't have the same range. Example:- http://world.guns.ru...us/gm-94-e.html I think large capacity drum magazine types like the MM1 would be too ott and would best be avoided for the sake of better balanced play. Would CS gas affect zeds? As I understand it, smoke already attracts zeds so see no reason why CS gas wouldn't. I suppose it could have a longer lasting / disorienting effect on them? Edit - .....And thanks for the beanz, btw. :D

    Thermite Charges...

Railyards might have supplies of thermite for track welding purposes. It can also be manufactured like Hoard says...although this is a lengthy process and ffilings would probably not be fine enough. Magnesium ribbon or flares would be unnecessary since it can be ignited with a mixture of Potassium Permanganate which is available at chemists, vetinary supplies(...and therefore farm sheds?). - It's an oxidant that's extensively used for disinfection and water treatment like removing the bad-egg smell from wells (so it's not at all inconceivable that it would be available in Chernarus) and Glycerine which is usually available in the cake making section of supermarkets. :D

    heavy weaponry

I'm thinking that a reasonable compromise might be to include an M79 in place of a mortar? Max range about 400m. It's mortar-ish and could conceivably be fired from defilade with the aid of a spotter. Not deadly accurate. Can use the same rounds as the M203 - HE, illumination, smoke (does the Dayz M203 use flares and smoke?...Would be nice to have, methinks) buckshot rounds and less than lethal ammo such as CS gas rounds and baton rounds. (I think CS would be useful for forcing people out of buildings.) ...Just a thought.
  9. ...Nettles, berries, nuts, dandelions, wood ant nests that can be raided for eggs, raidable bird's nests (feral chickens, possibly) and many more sources such as various fungi which may be good for you or make you ill to varying degrees depending upon the species (possible effects could include blurred vision impaired movement/shakes, etc. and you would have to learn to differentiate between species).

    More Varieties of Wild Foods?

Hehe. I'd rather stick to eating beetles and grubs, thanks. ;)

    What's the point?

Wish I had that sort of patience. Hackers are the reason I'm waiting for the SA to come out as I know they'll just sour my experience and put me off the game otherwise. I suspect that many people have been / will be put off the game due to these idiots, which is a great pity.

    Player Camp Etiquette

I don't actually play the game (...yet. I'll wait for the SA) so I have very little idea about etiquette. I think it might be fun to take what one needs, sprinkle a couple of satchel charges about the place (if available) and then hide and wait to see who turns up. ...Or would that be morally reprehensible? <_<
