In a developer blog post, on announcement forums for the 8th of March, a member commented that Rocket and the team had talked about implementing dogs into the game (possibly as AI companions). He also mentioned that the developers were considering having items 'remember' what had happened to them for a short time, and which player effected those changes. This opens up a new world of tracking and hunting other players. A dog could, theoretically, smell a discarded can and pick up the code of the player; aka the scent. The dog could then track their trail and eventually come to the players location with his owner in tow. This would not only work for hunting players but also for finding lost comrades Perhaps they would leave a can of beans on the ground and your dog could track them down through scent. Instead of people 'cheating' and using Facebook and other social media sites to communicate where to find each other. I think it would add a layer of depth to the game and so would sincerely like for this feature to be implemented. Please leave a comment about what you think or any other features that could come from this. I would just like to give credit, the poster's name was rassad.

I wasn't able to find any other topics like this one, but I'm almost positive that there is one out there for it that I didn't find. So please keep that in mind. I think that Day-Z should incorporate a system where zombies will spawn in a set amount when the server starts. The system would reload all loot, unsaved items and zombies when the server restarted in a time period of two days (48 hours.) This gives a small, but achievable chance for players to clear an area for a base and the such. But this would need a re-portioning of the zombies in cities and on roads. They would need to be more numerous to make clearing a city a challenge in itself. And plus with with the loot only spawning every two days the survivor aspect would be increased by a ton! I think it would help the failing humanity system in a way. For instance if a bandit saw a survivor going along a road he might think, "how much food and bullets does he have on him versus how much he has stored elsewhere, and does he know of any other spots that haven't been looted yet?" This might increase your chance of survival against other players and a need to work together. Also I saw an idea in another post where if you get too close to the zombies they would grab you and stop you from moving until you break free. This, all-in-all, would add to the game I think. An added bonus of this that I just thought of would be that players could no longer determine if a player(s) were in a city by looking in from a hill and looking for a zombie spawn. With zombies already spawned you could be walking in to a neighborhood with no one alive in it or a bandit base ;) Please leave a comment I would like some feed back on this idea.

It seems like a good idea to me. Has mo dependency on the graphics and since the ground would be rendered green (usually) the transparent ghillie suit will help to disguise your profile from other characters. Thus there will be a point to wearing it again. You know, at long distances. Up close it's still amazing.

The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell

You sir have earned beans :) -
So I have yet to play the game, because I am waiting on my desktop computer to be fixed and given back to me by my friend. And I was wondering how dangerous the zombies in the game are. I have watched so many videos where the player would just move around a bit and the zombies couldn't hit him because of their crappy lock on capabilities. It seems that they will stop, assess the situation, calculate the trajectory of their arm, consider the moral implications AND THEN swing at the player. Do they become more aggressive in packs? Can they just be avoided like they are just an annoyance, or can they actually kill you? Please respond as I want to know if they are a threat that will force players to work together; especially with this new patch making zombies more powerful.

New Update Makes DayZ Extremely Difficult
Sandmnbakery replied to GrassyKnoll's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think they should actually make it harder. The whole game seems to be filled with people that are simply playing team death match, where your team is just those who you know in real life... The only way to cement teamwork between strangers is by making gameplay so hard that they need someone to watch there back or provide a distraction. In shows such as the walking dead its advisable to show caution with new people (which makes sense 'cus even if the game is hard their will always be people trying to kill you), but think of all the help they could provide SO LONG AS YOU DON'T SHOOT THEM!
