DayZ vs DayZero ('vanilla' DayZ mod)
beavis_5000 replied to frosti's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I apologize I just went back and looked at the site. The AR loadouts are for Wasteland only. Im gonna have to go back on all the threads I talked shit about BMRF on and correct myself lol. Still not Vanilla tho. And convenience = survival. Tho I did regain some respect for BMRF I wont be on there servers. -

Sorry to hear that man. What the hell was it that knocked you out? -
What if Dayz was free to play?
beavis_5000 replied to Shadow Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I see what your saying OP and its really not a bad idea. Thats not "free to play" tho lol. Anyway if you had to buy a new character every time you died it would add huge value to life. Not sure how this would effect the game overall. It would definately make the ral dckheads shine through because if you shoot unarmed players your really f'ing them over in real life too because they will have to spend more money. If you think KoS'ers are hated now with a system like this KoS'ers would be truly hated. It would never happen tho becuse people would be outraged. Also I think comparing a system like this to WarZ is unfair and you really cant even comapre a system like this to WarZ. People wouldnt be paying for a PvP advantage (like in WarZ), they would be paying for a life. I know we are all scared to death about the WarZ fail but that faied because of the small ass map and tha ability to buy a PvP advantage. Combine the two and you have that PvP fest. -

How long have you tried waiting? I would leave it on there and walk away for a long ass time and see if it goes down at all. If your on a US server I will help you out. -
DayZ vs DayZero ('vanilla' DayZ mod)
beavis_5000 replied to frosti's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Does DayZero have a good US server yet? I only get around 140 ping on the Zombies.nu servers. And dont even mention the P2W trash BMRF (US) servers. BMRF is the furthest thing from Vanilla with Donation Starting Loadouts. How can they even call their server Vanilla? I know the real DayZero (Zombies.nu) is legit so if the real DayZero is any good then BMRF is giving it a very bad name. Zombies.nu needs to cut off all ties with BMRF and not affiliate their name with that BS for the sake of their mod. Last time I tried the REAL DayZero I had a micro-stuttering problem and with the high ping it was unplayable. WIll try the real DayZero tonight. -
They must assume they are less likey to be KoS'ed with a female skin? If so they can either use it to be friendly or use it to be decietful and I put my money on most using it to be decietful.
-
Damn and I suppose some of the stuff she stole and destroyed was your? I'd be pissed at both of them if so. The dude for not making sure the person he ws just arguing with didnt know where he left everyhing and the female for obvious reasons. I say hunt both of them down lol. At least the female if she trashed your stuff as well.
-
Not sure how we are on the subject of "creepers" and verbal rape? But whatever you say Ozelot because you sound like just the type of dude a girl would want to be in a "private chat" with.
-
You should of killed him for chasing off the female
-
Well considering it really was a female I dont know why you would kill her rather than try to team with her and have a female to run around with to keep you company. That being said it very likely was a male. I killed a dude one time because he had not only a female skin but a female name and when he spoke to me on voice chat he was a dude. I killed him not only because he was not a female but because he could only have been up to no good with so much deciet in his character.
-
I would rather play at night and not the weak ass full moon nights. I prefer pitch black full nights.
-
He broke my Cardinal Rule; If you find a female in the lonely world of DayZ keep her around at all cost. Theres nothing like surviving in an apocoliptic world with a female.

Quick Tips For Starter (Submit a tip if you have one)
beavis_5000 replied to carbine781 (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
The learning curve on this game is bigger than likely any game ive ever played. The maps are so big and there are so many sight lines to die from. So many ways to f up. Knowing where to find what. Learning terrain so you dont get lost easily. So much more really. Of course if you want to take the easy way there are things you can look up and research to help you learn quicker lol, but thats with any game. What adds to the huge learning curve is the way the game plays. DayZ plays slow and you dont respawn back into the same situation (like most other games) in which you can try what ever you failed at directly again. Instead you basically start the game all over from scratch and it may take ages to be in a similar situation in which you can learn from again. -
I would run with an AA-12 even on the mod unless the totally f'd it up. Hopefully the SA wont have the glitches and lag.
-
I would like to see an AA-12 with a drum clip. Im a shotty kinda guy and there is no high end shotty in DayZ. No shotty is good in close quarters, your much better off with any AR. The AA-12 is my favorite video game gun of all time because it looks so awesome.

Key word troll lol I would almost say it was decent troll especailly if you wouldnt have changed your name or lt least not changed it to admins name. But since you did that makes it quite a bit weaker. What also makes it worse is you came on here and told everyone what you did. What makes even worse is you acted like it was a good move instead of just admitting it was cheating and an exploit. What makes it even worse is you called yourself a "true hunter" for doing this. If you wouldnt have changed your name and just admitted you were exploiting then not started your own thread bragging about how you were a true hunter because you did this, I would have given you a level 1 troll.

1 and 4 defiantely no lol. Maybe number 2 if the penalties were realistic. Like when you shoot you get like 10-20 zombies chasing you. Or even unique/individual player characteristics in which you can distinguish one payer from another so it would be easier to recognize the KoS'ers. Give us a huge variety of character cutomization options and accessories for the regular survivor skin and awesome camo and miltary accessory options for hero skins. No cool extra accessories or clothing for bandits. No rewad with cool stuff for killing everything you can. I think even a simple change like taking out the cool bandit skins would help. They are so much cooler looking than hero skins and so much easier to get.

Heres a story that made me lol at myself. Was in Byelov Grocery store. Only had a pistol and noticed someone so I took cover. It was a female in a hero skin. She only had a pistol and didnt shoot. I was pumped to have found a female to run with for a little bit and in my mind im thinking im bringing her to my stash of gear and letting her whatever weapons and gear she wants. No side chat in this server so in Direct Chat I typed "Follow me". I immediately run out of the store and she follows. In my excitement I start running around like a chicken with its head cut off deciding to loot shit on the way and my dumbass runs straight into an apartment building after aggrooing like 10 zombies from carelessly running around in my excitement. So to sum it up I ran into a female, typed in direct chat for her to "Follow me" and ran straight out to one of the worste places to be while unarmed and died screaming while being ate by zombies.

"Slow" crawling doesn't work?

I dont slow crawl much but dont you have to double tap shift? Like when you want to walk? -
Why do people cry so much when they presume on my mercy?
beavis_5000 replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
LMAO, the whole forum hunting for Ozelot. What server you on Ozelot? -
Yeah I am baseing all opinions off the current version of the mod. It really depends on what exactly they do with the ammo. It could increase PvP becuase people will kill others in hope of them having ammo since it will be hard to find anywhere else. So it would be an increase in inland PvP but decrease coastal PvP between new spawns. It may even make those who normally wouldnt shoot on sight to decide to shoot on sight in hopes for ammo? Still to many unknown variables to tell honestly but imo it very well could increase PvP (based off the mod). I defiantely agree with this above statement in the quote. I think this is the SA we all hope for.

beavis_5000 replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think its bad decision to trust someone any more or less just because they run or stay still. Thinking like that is what will get you killed. Making assumptions like this will get you killed. I give eveyone the same amount of trust. I see what your saying, if the dude would have stayed still and let you control the situation you wouldnt have shot him. But dude had no way of knowing that without you speaking. Its an unfair statement to say he was stupid and made a bad decision. Its a fair statement to say he made the best decision he could in the given situation. Its also a fair statement to say he was unlucky he ran into someone less hesitant to shoot and is a good shot. Personally, I wouldnt have shot him. Whether he runs or not I assume he will shoot me in the back of the head if he has the chance, even if im talking to him. If he runs or not while unarmed isnt going to make a difference. And running doesnt mean they are going to do whatever they want. Im sure doing what they want doesnt include being unarmed in someones sight line. No, they are literally just trying to get out of the situation alive. If there was a DMR at his feet hes not gonna do what he wants and pick it up, hes getting the f outta there. With all this being said I understand your decision and even the reasoning behind it. I dont neccessrily agree with it because you didnt speak to him but I see why you did it. What I dont understand is how you could possibly blame this dude for trying to get the f outta there and run as fast as he could. Im the type of player that you could walk right by fully armed in a bandit skin and as long as your no threat to me or anyone else you will never know im there. I would give you half my gear. Im the exact type of player you want to run into if your friendly. And I can tell you in that situation im trying to get the F outta there and ask questions later. The very last thing I would do is stay still and give you a free shot. That is literally the worste possible decision to make. Once again I see why you shot. But I dont see how you could possibly blame him for his decision to run. -
I would say Battle Royale itself would help slow down the kill everything that moves mentality in regular DayZ because all the extreme PvP'ers would go play that. I dont see it working out that way tho because I feel most KoS'ers will be afraid of the competition and stick with the easier kills (Fresh Spanws, friendlies, non-PvP'ers and etc) in regular DayZ where they arent literally forced to kill or be killed.
-
So... On the topic of bullet rarity affecting PvP. I've played some Battle Royal lately. It's an interesting mod, it is definitely not DayZ. However it does illustrate the problems with shooting when you have a lack of ammo. The whole game is designed to be a PvP experience that takes place over 90 minutes of time. You are forced into smaller and smaller areas as the time goes on and you start with nothing. 24 players start in a circle around 24 backpacks and you can run for the middle or run away. IN the middle are backpacks and in them is a map and then a couple different random loadouts. One might have a shotgun, or a PDW, or a revolver, or a machete, or it might have nothing but food and drink or medical gear or binoculars. You are often forced to defend yourself with a pistol with 6 shots. So there are times when you see someone off to your right and he has a gun, and you have a gun and you have to stop yourself from shooting at him because at that range you probably won't kill him, you will probably wound each other and you will use up both your ammo then you will be helpless. So you hold your fire for when you really need it. Eventually you might find a rifle of some sort and if lucky find a clip with it. Again you see someone and instead of blasting you try to close in and make sure the shot is good and clean but the whole time you are giving them a chance to notice you. I ended up with an M1SE1 Tan ACOG in one game. 20 round clip means you BET I used it only when I had a good shot. Shot a guy for his truck, wounded another guy which chased him off and lacking ammo I didn't bother to follow him, I wasn't going to run 600M for a chance to finish him off and then have to run 600 meters back. Sadly in that game the blue cirlce took a major shift and left me well outside it's area when I had gambled on still being in it when I went into a barracks to find more DMR ammo and maybe a back up gun. used all my SD rounds on the zombies, went to grab guns and ammo in the rooms and the shift happened. I then had zombies spawning inside with me, one knocked me out and it was all over. So even in a game that is all about PvP when you end up lacking ammo there are times you don't use what little you have I would bet most players with only 6 shots in a revolver would still try to go in for a kill in regular DayZ. In Battle Royale they might hold back because they have the bigger scheme of winning in mind. For example, player has a revolver with 6 shots in regular DayZ, sees another player, thinks here is my chance for a kill and goes in with no real consequence if he dies because he can just respwn and with no real loss. In Battle Royle, if he tries to go in for that kill but dies then he loses and its game over for him and he cant even get back in the server until next game. So he suffers a loss and he cant play on that server for awhile. Definately enough reason for a competitve PvP player to hold back on a kill. imo, in DayZ's current state, you could take out 90% of weapons and ammo and allow unarmed players to Karate Chop and it still wouldnt slow down the "kill everything you see" mentality or PvP much. We would just have players everywhere tryng to Karate Chop eachother. And the less weapons and ammo would just make it easier for those who have it to kill those who dont. Devs shouldnt be focused on slowing down PvP, they should focus on slowing down the "Kill everything in sight" mentality. Im not sure how they can do that but the easiest answeres I can think of are 1) Give them a reason not to kill, 2) Give them something to kill besides other players, 3) Give them something to do besides kill. Of course in DayZ there are zombies to kill and plenty of other things to do besides kill and it doesnt make much difference. The reason why I believe is when people get into a gun fight on DayZ it gives them a rush. They need to put something in the game tht can give them a similar rush. Maybe the answer lies in the zombies? Just some more of my thoughts once again based on the current version of the mod. There very well could be other aspects of the SA combined with less ammo and degrading shoes that could reduce the kill everything mentality.
