I can play either way, but I personally enjoy playing with at least one other player. Playing with one or more other people will increase chances of survival if you guys know what you are doing. Playing alone can have it's benefits as well but I find that it can get boring after a while.

Interesting idea lol

From what I've seen around the forums a good amount of people recommend playing on private, whitelisted to servers to avoid the number of hacker occurances.

Looking for: Any skill level (New player myself) Maturity Willing to communicate through Steam and/or TeamSpeak 3 If anyone considering this is wondering what I can bring to the table, I've gained what I think is a fair bit experience since I started playing and you can see by checking out my achievements thread. How I raised up my FPS from 10-15 to 30-40 on my LAPTOP!
CS14 replied to barrett_killz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Been playing with just about everything on high so far and wanted to see if I could squeeze out more FPS with graphics. so I tried out the recommended settings from the pastebin link in OP and so far I'm liking it. Haven't noticed a performance hit, and I think I may have actually gained some FPS, will benchmark to find out. Going to test it out in some of the cities soon and see. Also plan on trying out the FOV settings as well. On top of that I'll be OCing my CPU soon as it's unlocked and I have good cooling. Also for anyone knows, what's the cause of FPS drops in larger cities like Cherno. It's not too much but I'd like to maintain as many FPS as I can in the cities. I'm thinking it's relating to the CPU due to the number of zombies spawning and what not, am I right on that one? -
I'd be interested in one if you still have some to give out.
-
I'd be interested in grouping, just lemme know.

Server: 173.192.200.126:3170 WakeupDeadClan DayZChernarus - [100+ Vehicles] [Custom Buildings] [Debug Monitor] [starting Gear] [REGULAR NP:OFF][GMT+12] (1.7.5.1/101480) | DayZ.ST 7 DayZ Chernarus on chernarus Before I go ahead and start, I'd like to say that if I've posted this in the wrong section apologies as I didn't see anywhere else fit to post. Anyways, I was playing on this server for a few hours when about 30-60 minutes ago (preceding the ban) I happen to notice a helicopter crash near a small town just South of the airfield with a few bodies around it. After scouting the area and figuring that the players most likely died from the crash I proceeded to loot their bodies. Upon looting the bodies I found a few guns, one of them I believe was an M4 and a Scar, as well as a few miscellaneous supplies. After looting the bodies, I noticed that there were some military tents towards the town not too far from the helicopter crash. As I started to head towards the tents a zombie started chasing me so I turned around and started heading back to the helicopter before getting kicked for some script related reason. I figured it was a bug so I proceeded to log in, roughly 30-60 seconds after logging in I was banned for something along the lines of item duplication/spawning. Firstly, I just started playing DayZ and ArmA 2 for the first time Monday (02/04/13) and still don't know a lot about the game, nor how to get/use hacks. For verification, check my library on my Steam account (xcs14x) and it will show that it was purchased a few days prior, which was in anticipation for receiving my new graphics card. Secondly, I had been playing on that server for a few hours, had decent loot before stumbling upon what I picked up at the heli crash, and had absolutely no reason to duplicate/spawn items or whatever I was banned for. I was really enjoying the server, in fact it was the first server that I managed to stay on for a few hours without getting bored and would hate to not be able to play for a misunderstanding/false ban. I'm posting this in hopes that this can be looked into and resolved. I did not happen to find a site for the clan so I posted this here. Any help appreciated. ~ CS14 ------------------------- UPDATE Have some screenshots from when I found the loot on the bodies (you can see the body if you look closely at the pictures) http://imgur.com/ycYM3ZO http://imgur.com/wleUxQS http://imgur.com/IllnowD http://imgur.com/IllnowD

Falsely Banned for Duplication (Server in Desc.)
CS14 replied to CS14's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
If a forum moderator could close/graveyard this for me I'd appreciate it. Was a private hive and could care less about playing there anymore. -
Only have killed 2 players so far since I recently started playing, but I'd have to say my best one is when I killed a guy with a Lee Enfield that had an AKS aimed at me in the tower of the fire station in Cherno. A buddy and I were looting Cherno and I decided to split up and see if there was anything good at the fire station. As I enter the fire station I could have sworn that I heard slow foot steps (love playing with a surround sound headset, really helps) but didn't see anyone so I figured it may have been a zombie. As I start heading up the tower I turn to see an AKS pointed at my face and instinctively fire a few shots at him, 3 in fact (1 probably did the job but had to be sure), killing him. Just recently got a DMR for the first time and a handful of other guns so I'm sure I'll have better kills soon B)

As the title states, this thread will be to show some of my achievements over the past few days that I am proud of. I've been playing this since late Monday (02/04/13) and have already started to learn a lot about DayZ and have started to notice that I am beginning to survive longer and longer while finding better and better gear. Another thing that I have noticed since I started playing DayZ is that I have gained a little bit more patience (sort of) than when I first started playing, taking the time to sneak around zombies more when I'm in the mood to play stealthy. Anyways, here are some screenshots: Yesterday (Wednesday, 02/06/13) Just some equipment that I obtained... Today (Thursday, 02/07/13) First tent: Just some equipment that I had: First vehicle:

Got quite a few updates and major progress made. Plan to write a little story about it with pictures and what not, but to keep it short: Spawned not too far from a fishing boat just down the coast from Cherno. Head to Cherno. alone and begin looting the buildings. Run into friendly player and agree to team, speaking on TeamSpeak. Loot the rest of Cherno together and manage to find Lee Enfields and pistols I end up shooting a player that had an AKS with my Lee Enfield in the tower of the firestation. Head up to the small airfield down the coast from Cherno. find nothing and head back. Grab some medical supplies, food, and misc. gear bringing it to the boat which is now stockpiled by supplies and hidden. Head back to the firestation only to find a DMR, MP5SD, M9 SD, and other small guns. Bring some of the gear back to the boat and the server restarts at which point we both take a break.

It depends on the server that you play on. Usually some private servers will start you off with bad/decent/good loot and others will not.

Thanks, however I lost the tractor roughly 10-15 minutes after I got it when I crashed it into a tree (engine and hull already damaged prior). Will keep that in mind next time I set up a nice little camp and get a vehicle again.

Who Else Thinks 1.7.5.1 Pushes Annoyance and Survival Too Far?
CS14 replied to Diz (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Started playing with 1.7.5.1 so I can't really say if it's too far :P From what I'm reading, it seems that hit was easier prior and I'm actually glad I started playing as it is getting harder which will only benefit me in the long run if it were to lets say go back to the way it was or get harder. -
That right there earned some beans  :beans: Although I've just started, I've experienced hackers (in other games as well) quite a few times since then where we'd all get teleported to the airfield or somewhere similar, even 30 seconds before a scheduled server restart once. The one time on the airfield a good majority of people were smart enough to take off and only a few sat around and shot each other. I think the best thing is just to ignore hackers in any game, they'll get bored before you do.

Got a specific server in mind? If not I know a good server with a good TeamSpeak 3 server as well. Just lemme know. -
Haha, have a sort of similar story. To keep it short: Creeping up on 2 bandits on a roof in Cherno, one of them falls over the edge and lands unconscious in front of me (not sure how he survived) as I was walking around the bottom and ended up shooting him upon realizing he was alive. Funnier if you saw it in person :P

Check out the 'Index of Helpful Threads' and click on some of the guides listed there. Also check out the DayZ Wiki to learn a bit more about certain things in the game (love to do this when bored at school B) ) to better understand it. Although reading through guides and what not will help you out, nothing will be better than hands on experience. I just recently started myself and already feel like I've been improving at the game just by playing on a variety of different servers (I'd recommend playing on ones that don't start you off with any good equipment).

I'd recommend using PCPartPicker to search for parts as it'll automatically compare the price of whatever you select with a number of stores and will find you the lowest price you can get. You could also checkout overclock.net and learn a lot about anything you could want to know about PCs and get help with recommendations as to what you should choose and why. I'll try to throw together a decent list for you. -

Not always the case, sure a 1-2 grand desktop could play all current games without any hiccup at high framerates and multi-monitor resolutions, but isn't absolutely necessary to get decent frame rates on most games. For example, I built my desktop around Christmas for ~ 500 USD and have been getting a steady 30 FPS+ for the most part (occasionally dips down a few frames, not much, and occasionally increases up to 60 depending on location) while playing on high settings. I could probably squeeze out more FPS if I found that 'perfect' graphic setting, even a bit more when I overclock my processor which would be fairly easy as it's unlocked, as well as my GPU as it came factory overclocked and with overclocking software. Long story short, yes an expensive rig would be ideal to play any game with nice graphics on high resolutions without any hiccup, but a 'budget' or 'mid-range' PC would do just fine. Agree with this 100%. You can get more for your money with a desktop. -
Hello, I'm CS14 (in-game as well) and I just started playing DayZ this past Monday (02/04/13) and have been loving it more and more since then. I consider myself a 'neutral' player meaning I'll play friendly but my character's safety comes first and won't hesitate to shoot if provoked. I plan on sticking with DayZ for a while and looking forward to meeting new people and having fun while playing.
