My best kill was in self defense tbh. I had just started and had made the long trek to Elektro. It was a busy server and there were bodies of new players scattered all over the place. I managed to find a shotgun with a few slugs. While exploring the fire station, about to head up the stairs, I was shot. I span round to see a bandit in the main room. Taking aim at his upper body he shot me again, this time in the legs, instantly breaking them. As my character was falling, I shot the bandit in the neck/head. This didn't just look awesome, It felt awesome. Bleeding heavily, with broken legs, I crawled and shuffled over the many dead players to the bandit and finished him off. Not having any morphine, I started crawling to the hospital. I didn't make it very far. I'm not a bandit myself, i'm a hero. But I expect to hear the best stories from the killers!

Hey guys. Just a quick question I would like an answer to... To get the Epeen monitor up, you have to press "scroll lock" My laptop does not have this key/function. Is there another way of viewing the Epeen monitor or am I doomed for eternity?
-
wow thanks a lot dude. I'll give it a try! :)
-
I tend to run around, zig zagging saying "woah woah woah friendly dude, friendly friendly friendly." ducking and diving through fences and trees. If its a bandit then id shoot to break his legs and take his gun.

Its a Dell Inspiron 15r. No i t doesn't have any lights or lock symbols on it :/ i've tried fn + num lock as well. Thanks for trying to help, i guess il try fn + every single key available haha. :(

To get the hero skin you need to give people blood transfusions and painkillers ect :) good work btw
-
ive already tried this :( thanks for trying to help though.
-
Ive tried it, never worked, just ignored! Also, tried impersonating frankies "hey buddy!" voice to see if anyone goes crazy like "OMG FRANKIE" that has also never worked lmao

i think its a good idea. Being too cold make the player shake so having heatstroke could do something like blur the players vision?
-
This idea has my nooby blessing... and my beans. speaking of which, because we eat so many beans, our characters should have really bad farts that give away our position.
-
Great idea. What game is that off? when you keep shoving they get weaker and weaker? Wait. Res 6. just remembered haha

These are ideas for the standalone... To understand my suggestion completely, you should read it all! Humanity on the game is great in my opinion. It shows people who bandits are, it shows people who heroes are. It makes you make a decision which path you should take... Do i take the good side and work towards becoming a Hero? Do i take the bad side and look out for myself (and other trusted people, like a group of friends) and usually shoot on sight. Killing other players for their gear ect. In the standalone, i believe the game should give traits to the individual paths. I don't mean choose able perks like COD. I mean background traits that are gained (as in no on-screen pop up tells you about the trait you had just unlocked). The traits that can be gained can both help and hinder you. For instance... BANDITS -5000 humanity, you gain shock resistance. (you shake less after being hurt) - (earned because of the thick skin needed to kill innocents) -10000 humanity, you gain better shooting environment. (sniping is slightly more steady) - (earned because of the character is more experienced with shooting players. -15000 humanity, gains you with the bandit skin. Looks cool, but it alerts other players about you. The traits gained are useful but there are also some traits that hinder you (bandit skin that alerts players) This won't just be for bandits... HERO +5000 humanity, you can bandage wounds slightly quicker. (could show how the player is getting used to giving bandages) +10000 humanity, you can sprint for longer. (could show how the character has rushed to aid people like an infantry medic would do) +15000 humanity, sniping is slightly harder. (showing that the character isn't used to shooting people ect) Again, there are useful traits and hindering traits. I DONT LITERALLY MEAN THAT THOSE ARE THE TRAITS THAT SHOULD BE IN THE GAME, JUST IDEAS. I feel that the humanity system can be improved to make the humanity system more rewarding, even make the game more tactical. Like W.O.W there are races that have strengths and weaknesses, you have to play the game and work to your strengths and try and avoid your weaknesses. Situation Example using the traits i suggested imagine this. You're a hero and you notice a bandit looking your way from a far. You know he has the advantage because bandits are better snipers, so you will have to get closer to him. Knowing that speed is your strength you run, swerving in and out to cover. Now you are closer to the bandit, you decide to take shots at him. You lean out of cover and shoot in his direction. You are confident you have at least hit the bandit. The bandit is hit but still manages to shoot back at you because of his shock/pain resistance which stops his aim from faulting too much. You are both hit and you both bandage your wounds after quickly taking cover. Because you bandage your wounds much quicker, you are able to run to another point of cover. The bandit has just bandaged and looks back to where you last was. You then lean out from your new point of cover, but the bandit notices too late and you kill him. Just an example of how my suggestion could work. Don't take the information too literally, after all I'm typing this as it comes into my head. I'm sure there are some flaws with my idea, but I'm sure they could be fixed

I don't mean to make it more PVP based. I didn't type this suggestion with the intention of creating balance, just depth. But i can see how it does give balance and if Rocket doesn't want balance then fair enough!

Im in on this! Me and my friend do exactly what Weedplant said! Me and my friend are also both heroes with the Hero skin :)

Another suggestion, one which i have often thought about when i have not had any wheels. What if characters physically progressed. In such ways like... Fitness Levels (run for longer) Pace (running faster) Strength (weight affects the character less) Dexterity (relode speed, crawl speed, roll speed, vault speed) Also, jumping and small scale climbing would be a good idea in my opinion. (i DONT mean free-runnning) Jumping to clear fences. Small scale climbing for getting vantige points. (small buildings/trees) Perhaps, a new character could start with random values like real people would have. You might get lucky and start with someone with a bit of fitness. Or unlucky, start with a character slow and unfit. Maxing out these values would take months of game time. And things like blood loss and leg breaks and fainting could decrease individual stats.

Since a designer of FIFA has had his name on the game. So you can hear the commentator say it (his name is Matt Bilbey.) It is the closest thing to my name and i have used it on the FIFA games for years! my friends call me Bilbey now haha
-
Oh cool :) Yeah very true, the simpler way you suggested is probably better. After all, the general simplicity of this game is what makes it so good!

I think that having 1 can last more than 1 serving isn't right, just because the idea of the game is to scavenge for food ect. Having more servings per can would take the edge off and make the game easier. I totaly agree with your second suggestion, the can being left in your bag is annoying haha

Hey. A lot of players have a shoot on sight reaction, as I have learned. This could be because they are actively choosing to become a bandit, or just because they are on high alert. This happens quite often and as the title of this topic suggests, I was wondering if there could be a way of easily showing that you're a friendly. The hero costume obviously does this to a certain extent, but factors like its similarity to a normal survivor costume (especially at a distance) and encounters with new players can cause an unwanted gun fight. Not to mention it isn't the easiest thing to get your hands on. Attempting to use a mic to declare your intentions has a dis-advantage, mainly because of the time delay (a lot can happen within a second) and you generally have to actively see a player first before feeling the need to use the mic. Obviously it (whatever it could be) would have to be unlocked through humanity, or have it unlocked at the start at humanity 0. Maybe, something like a player voice saying "friendly", audible to unnoticed players within a certain radius? Maybe it could be a high-vis jacket (advantage because of the friendly status it advertises, dis-advantage because of its high visibility) stored in the tool belt? It's just a thought for survivors. Bandits would benefit from easier targets and the evil satisfaction from killing a friendly player haha. bad/good idea?

Another way of declaring your friendly motives?

Fair enough, i did think about it affecting the atmosphere. I don't think it would effect it too much. Only if wearing the high-vis jacket became a common occurence would it take the edge off going into a city. Thats what i think anyways. This topic is on here because im always trying to help but i usually get shot at haha! -
