  1. maybe... just maybe... cause we really appreciate the game's idea and dont want it to turn into shit just because rocket tried to jump longer than his legs. People who lose their time here on the forums pointing out the game problems are the ones that really care about the game. While all these brats that parachuted in here after the SA launch defend the game at all costs and will end up being the ruin of it. If we did hate the game, we wouldnt even bother coming here talk to a mass of people who are ignorant to the facts. back then, the alpha bullshit was fair, as the mod was completely free and there was few people working on it. Now with standalone that's a different story.
  2. lemme correct you: 13 years ago. Dayz engine still uses the same systems that operation flashpoint had. BIS only got their shit together in the arma 3 engine, but anything back from standalone uses basically the same engine, with prettier textures and some different features that flashpoint used in 2001.

    yeah, totally realistic when you shoot 2 shotgun slugs point blank in someone's chest, he turns arond and unload a m4 in you before dying. that's a RV engine disease. And that's why the CQC in all the arma series and in dayz sucks so much.

    that's not exactly how you do it. Bullet drop is way more complicated than that. The best thing to do when sniping is aiming at the center of mass, so if you're wrong in the zeroing, you'll headshot your target, or will at least cripple it.

    the mod proved it a thousand times that incresing ammo rarity wont stop the mindless killing. If you only give people their bare hands, they'll kill each other with it in dayz, it's just how it is. You can only reduce griefing by adding things that bored people can do after they're decked out, and that's it. Elektro will continue to be as it always have been, a killzone, just like the airfields and high loot areas.

    Well, chernarus was said to be a post soviet state from the start, a brief look at the mod main page will tell you that. The fact that we were swimming in m4's and 'tactical pistols' on the game's launch already disgusts me, now we're adding a hunting pistol that probably has less than a ten thousand owners in the entire fucking world before a makarov, m9 or glock. the design team have some serious issues. 'New gameplay options' are completely bullshit. Add an alien gun that shoots gummy bears and heal people if you want 'new gameplay options' without giving a fuck about being authentic then.
  10. it's hacking, way known and hopefully will get patched before the end of this year, if we're lucky.

The mod has all standalone has, with less lag, bugs, more features, more gameplay options (from vanilla to epoch), less glitches, Less cheaters (they get banned way faster than in SA), no server hoppers and way less children playing. And, as a plus, is WAY cheaper. And you can play wasteland and other cool mods for arma 2 when you're bored of dayz. I would just say that by buying standalone you're buying a promise that's not developing too well, it's up to you. People that tell you to buy the game are the ones that never played the mod and dont even know how it is. They're just new to the concept as much as i was new to the mod once and got addicted to it.

    Well, if this will add anything to the game, will be that now you have a motivation to snipe bambies, as any of them could take out one of these any time and snipe you with it. Plus this will probably be as accurate as the mosin is.

    nah, it's just you and your 'friends' that are a little bit too much tolerant with the consecutive delaying of the development. It's 1/3 till the beta and we're not even close to having a decent netcode/framework, zombies still clip through walls like they're nothing, the ballistics are still bullshit, etc. you'll see that as time passes, and things get slower and slower, we'll see less and less fanboys crawling through these forums.

    yeah, someone definitively wrote something like that. funny thing: mods dont hide posts like that, but if you're not a fanboy type and get a little hot on some argument, you almost get yourself banned for much less, like what happened with Rick1633 in some random topic here on these forums. DayZ serious business.

    Funny thing is that when you state some obvious facts about the engine or the current game state, they start saying that you hate bohemia, you hate dean and you hate the game, that why you post bad things about it. we should start considering it a new religion or something.

    BTW if the "design team isnt the same as the developing team" bullshit was true, WHY THE FUCK WE DONT HAVE AKs YET? for real, why would they focus on adding bonnie hats instead of freaking more authentic and realistic guns gor the scenario? We dont even have a SMG in the game yet and they're adding a totally obscure rifle-round pistol that i NEVER saw before in my life, just cause 'fuck you, that why'.

    oooh god, are the designers competing between themselves of who can find a more weird, obscure, useless and unrealistic weapon concept to add to the game? and Rick1633 Enforcer, dont even start this argument. The fanboy train is strong in these forums. People literally parachuted in here after dayz was released and are giving smartass talks about the bohemia history. Even talking shit about arma 2 or 3 after admiting that they never played it. This game is going places.

    First of all, the concept of permadeath in any game already starts flawed by the fact that you respawn. The only way a real permadeath would be able to occur would be by banning the user when he dies, but that would be incredibly bullshit, as this is a game and people paid for it. The fear of dying never existed at all, as you never die in the game, you just leave your gear in a place and is teleported somewhere else. Going from that, stop to tunnel your vision on utopic goals like a perfect simulation of what would happen in a real scenario, as the game will never be even close to the real deal, no matter how much we try. and lone wolves are faded to fail unless you're a REALLY good player. That's why clans are built from after all, people team up cause they need help in something or are cooperating to a final goal that wouldnt be possible alone unless you're good enough. Numbers mean power in a scenario like dayz. lone wolves IRL would be just like that too, only the best would survive.

    ohh, dear. All these people parachuting into the game and making these hundreds of questions that we're completely tired to answer. No, more content = more shit to do. People will kill another people on sight if they want, there's nothing we can do. However, more shit to do can reduce the fresh spawn grieving made by decked out/bored veteran players. The only thing that would stop everybody from shooting each other for supplies on a SHTF scenario IRL is the feelings/morality, and that will NEVER be able to make into a game without needing artificial mechanics. So long story short, learn to play and you wont get killed on sight. People are assholes, dont trust them.
