psychological effects of banditry
lipemr replied to SpetsnazGRU (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
and you know that this attitude is caused by the vicious cycle that you started right? Everybody kills on sight because everybody kills on sight, the only way to stop this cycle is to implement some downside to someone that kills people just cause "everybody kills people". And whenever something like that is suggested, it is mocked to death by everybody. -
PSA: If you put "No KoS" in the title of your server, I'm going to favorite it and stop in every day to kill at least one person
lipemr replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in General Discussion
i read all of his posts, they would only make sense if resources were scarce, but they just arent right now, and everybody just want to shoot each other to prove themselves better, JUST that. At the point you find an m4 with enough ammo, you will be well stacked on food, and you can fill up your water on any water pump that you find, they're common as hell. People just kill each other for the thrill of proving themselves better, roughly said, to show that their e-penises are larger than the others. Maybe that's a way to supress their real life insecurity or frustation, who knows. But people dont kill each other for resources, as there's plentiful right now. -
psychological effects of banditry
lipemr replied to SpetsnazGRU (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
defend from what? if food and water were more scarce you could say that, but that's no argument, most people just kill other people for the sake of it, to prove to themselves that they're better than someone else, the classic "my e-penis is bigger than yours" mentality that we see in CoD. -

but explain to us, why do you want to eliminate EVERYBODY you encounter in game? Even when they wouldnt be a threat to you, as you that spotted him first? You're trying to justify the stupid cod/BF mentality that your only goal in game is to kill other people, there's so many games about that nowadays that it turned to be the main rule. Back in ultima online days, you could kill anyone without punishment, get all their stuff, but you wouldnt see as much no-sense killing as you see in this game, why? Because games got dumbed down at the point that shooting another player just to make your e-penis bigger is the main point of playing anyway. -

There will never exist a no KoS server, most of the community is made of Dickheads that just want to play cod with zombies, they'll kill on sight on a normal server cause they can, and they'll kill on sight on a non-KoS server just to be the dickheads they are and ruin the gameplay of who wants to play the game like that. -
psychological effects of banditry
lipemr replied to SpetsnazGRU (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
It wont be implemented, as there's a horde of kids that will stand against it, saying that killing someone produces no psychological effects, that you're supposed to kill everything you see ingame, this kind of bullshit. Most of these kids didnt ever killed even an animal IRL, but seems that they're specialists in human killing to the point that they know that there's no side effects for it. People have morals, killing someone that doesnt stand a direct threat to you (As all people in the game's scenario would be) should make the character feel guilty, isnt like killing people in war, as those people want to kill you too, your mind processes it like self defense. For that war vet there, you're only right if you killed a bunch of inoccent civilians when you were deployed on wherever you were, and you wouldnt feel guilty for that. -
What, exactly, is the point of this game?
lipemr replied to Zascha-Geriko's topic in General Discussion
but if you get close to people, it will end up turning into a giant deathmatch anyway, there's just no point. As i said before, most people only play for the nostalgia that bring them back on that time just after the mod was released... -
Well, that's exactly my point, maybe i'm too pissed off to express myself properly.
-
i did 3 years of Software engineering before i joined the army, so yes, i know what i'm talking about. Everybody here is on a state of denying, that's why they're all mad, they dont want to hear the obvious. but let's just let it be, in the end i'll probably have the pleasure to say "i warned you".

What does these 30 bucks that i DIDNT spend have to do with the topic? Everybody knows that the vanilla mod is almost dead, stop swearing at me just cause you're in a mad state of denying, proven by that other topic. You already proven youself a kid by following me to another topic just to continue that stupid discussion. If you have that much faith in the game and cant accept that maybe it will end up like the mod, dont be mad at me dude, have your faith and buy as much copies do you want to support the l33t devs, i just wont do it, and wont recommend it to anybody. jesus christ -

lipemr replied to Zascha-Geriko's topic in General Discussion
well, the OP just discovered the characteristic that made the mod shatter in more than 15 sub mods, the lack of end game. Well, you can always play autistic and immaginate things ingame, but at the end of the day, dayz vanilla is boring as hell, i only play it for nostalgia. -
you dont even know me, and even so you tell me that i'm a shame to my country, LOL. Nobody here knows NOTHING about me, i'm just here complaining about the lack of professionalism of the dev team, and about the absurd number of fanboys that this community ended up being flooded with. And in the end, you're just a living proof of my last complaining, you're mad at me just because i stated the obvious, just cause you didnt want to hear it. And BTW i'm not even american, so fuck off with these "hurr little shits like you make the army worse".
-
will it? When? I dont see a near future where the game's worth more than it is now, looking at the developing speed. As i said, this game will never leave alpha.
-
inb4 "NO, THIS IS BS, THE GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE A TEAM DEATHMATCH WITH ZOMBIES" comments.
-
what part about me NOT buying the game you didnt understand? Here on my country, the game's at 40 bucks, just deal with it. And it's easy to say "its an alpha" and just let everything stay the way it is now, but the fact is that 700000 people paid for this game, and they just go on a vacation, despite all the game breaking bugs that are still lurking on the game. I bet that if they didnt sell as much as they sold, they would be working their asses out to fix the bugs, but as they got a shitton of money on their pockets already, there's no point in putting effort. Well, they didnt put that much effort on the game from the start, as they already did get a shitton of money from arma 2 CO sales, so they took one year and a half to deliver an game far worse than the mod itself (that was coded for free, basically) and charge an stupid amount of money for it, as they knew that the hype would make the game be sold as hell. And now they'll just slow down the development, so all people will keep defending the game with the "it's an alpha, durr" till it dies. But as always, the fanboys are all raging and swearing at me for telling what they dont wanna hear. And for the Ad Hominem there, i'm corporal on the Army, i work my ass out, and the only thing i got was today off work, so dont get this "LULZ U IS LITTLE KIDDIE" argument on me, the brat here's actually you.
-
if i'm going to only test for the devs and cant complain about them going on vacations just after the alpha release, they should be paying me right? cause i'm doing them a favor. But no, people PAID 40 FREAKING DOLLARS on this alpha, and then the devs just go on vacation and say screw you. That's really professional of them, really...
-
i didnt, and i wont, and what did they add in game in total? a revolver? 5.1 million dollars, 15 days and all they add is a fucking revolver? OOOH yeah, and they need to go on holyday vacations, cause no one ever works on holdays, right? They made 5 million on the back of people that want this game to get better and what do they do? Say a big FUCK the customers and go out to spend their money, the game people paid for can wait.

Should I invest my time in 1st Person Servers?
lipemr replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
first person only servers are empty cause every shithead have a easier option, just like it is in the mod, with the 999999 vehicles, spawn with AS50 servers. Most of the vanilla servers are empty, guess why? remove the easier option and everybody will play it anyway, the shittier players will start QQing all day long on servers, but just deal with it. As rocket is always mentioning, this game isnt supposed to be easy, it's supposed to be cruel and aim for a realistic experience, so why all people walk aroung with their eyes 5m above his head? -
Possible solution to KOS, hear me out
lipemr replied to jan3sobieski's topic in New Player Discussion
the point is that theres just no advantages on not killing people, that's not realistic, in real life there's all the psicological aspects involved, you wont kill someone just for the lulz unless you're a psycho, and i dont think everybody would be a rampaging psycho on a post apocallyptical environment -

lipemr replied to jan3sobieski's topic in New Player Discussion
yeah, and that's why the game is going to die, it's the same shit as the mod, hell, there's even less stuff in the game than in the mod. And the mod's being around for 1 year, how much do you think dayz will last keeping the exact same mod's concept? The vanilla mod is already dying by itself. -
the funny thing is that this game will probably die before it gets to beta, considering how frequently they're adding stuff in And the amount of fanboys that the community is made of.
-
ok cpt obvious, thanks for the information, i was really going to bend the barrel of my rifle to adjust it to my scope, that's what i meant by zeroing the hunting rifle, and not the obvious thing that's that i was talking about the scope itself. 300 meters - OK 500 meters off iron sights like some dude was talking in this or another topic around the forum, no way. 300 meter still have a big probability to miss, as most iron sights will be bigger than the target at that point. And to compensate the lack of sway that the character have on the gun, this accuracy should be handicapped a bit, as you dont have the control on the alignment of the two part of the sights on the game. This should be even more considerable on scopes.

Fixing sinking bodies will make the game worse?
lipemr replied to desryachri's topic in General Discussion
it should mostly be destroyed from the fall of the body on the ground. Soda cans would most likely break and leak out. Cans of food, depending on the condition, should open too, when you opened the backpack, you should find a really nasty goo of food/rotten fruits and soda, all over your so precious loot. Then you would have to wash it all, spending your precious water on it, things like optics should mostly likely break. Hell, i still think that you should receive close to no loot when you kill someone, in real life you wouldnt be carrying that much stuff on yourself anyway, you would stash everything somewhere hidden, like a base or a crate inside a abandoned house. -
it's on tha EUA, more than 10 thousand kilometers from where the game is.

Fixing sinking bodies will make the game worse?
lipemr replied to desryachri's topic in General Discussion
it's weird how people think that they need to get a reward to killing someone... I actually think 90% of the gear should be destroyed with the bullets, as most of the gear is on the backpack, that stands right on the path of them.
