    The scopes in the state that they're ingame now are actually just like 2d scopes, as its just a scope image rendered over a zoomed background image. The only real 3d scopes are the ones in red orchestra 2, we just have prettier 2d scopes in dayz.
  3. most mosin venerators are actually from the united states. they should've added sniper rifles way, way later on development. Mosin should be an equivalent to the lee enfield on the mod.
  4. what the hell, you're a russian/mosin venerator, it's all explained now. post a video of you shooting a surplus mosin on a target 1km away and hitting 5 consecutive hits, then i'll listen to you, otherwise everything you're saying is bullshit. No police/military force uses mosins today, just the lenght and weight of that thing alone would make it not viable, stop with these made up stories, FFS.
  5. nope, old rifles like the mosin and akms are only used for training in heavy conditions so you dont screw up thousands of m4s a year just for training privates. They dont shoot them at all. Were you in the military at all? you dont seem to know much about how things are done inside there. And the mosins were NEVER, EVER designed to be a sniper rifle, NEVER. They were designed to be a battle rifle, AKA rifle that is good enough to hit the soldier in the other trench 100 meters away. SOME of the mosins were used as sniper rifles, but they were selected between hundreds of crappy ones and given to fewer soldiers. And read something about the MOAs in mosins, FFS, without ANY external condition, a mosin will hit anywhere 1 meter around the target at ~900 meters, considering it is on good shape. Mosins are crappy for long range shooting, they just are, you donw know shit about guns if you think otherwise.

    there was AK74 models in devblogs long, LONG before game release, yet we still dont get them on the game. dont get your pants wet, crossbows will take a while till they're on game.

  8. aka you want easier zombies? go back to your cod zombies or resident evil bullshit. @topic i'm all on for 3~4 hit kill from a zombie, they just need to stop clipping through walls, but it will never happen, so no better zambies. All people here are suggesting shorter nights, easier zombies, more loot, what the fuck. seems that standalone wasnt a good thing for the community at all. In the end well end up like a WoW with zombies or something, with people joining "raid finder" to raid elektro for an epic quality m4 or something like that.

  11. that's what i'm saying, friend. mosins are unrealistic on the game, even with R700's, 800~1000 meter shots should be a pain in the ass due to windage and all other factors. People just seem to ignore the real world when it comes to their precious 'sniper' rifles in the game.
  12. well, even a pristine mosin wouldnt be accurate enough as they are in game right now. Otherwise we would be supplying all sniper troops in the earth with mosins, fuck the m24's, mosins are totally reliable at 1km shots, totally, right? The machining standarts for russian made surplus mosins are not made for precision, same as in the surplus AKMs. The lack of accuracy is inherent on a rifle that wasnt designed to be a precision rifle.

  14. so you guess what range a weapon is effective by the zeroing it has on the iron sights? the in-game mosins were supposedly fabricated in early 1900 years, going through a lot of military and hunting action, being left without maintenance for a great deal of time and probably losing most of its rifling in the process, plus some warps in the stock and lousiness on the bolt. Mosins are just NOT accurate in 99% of the cases.
  15. mosins are supposed to be civilian loot, AKA hunting weapons, prolly beaten up surplus rifles that couldnt be sold to other country's armed forces for being in bad shape.
  16. in the mod they could controll your character for good, there's even a frankie's video showing that happening. In the game though, i dunno. But with all the backdoors this game has, i actually believe there's way to controll/tilt you controls so you cant move.

    well, going from that line of thinking, anyone can download a cheating program, so isnt an unfair advantage. also, leaning inside the walls is in game, everybody can use it, but it's cheating for sure.
  18. you dont know much about firearms, do you? the effective range of a FAL is basically the same as the mosin.
  19. are you seriously comparing a new custom mosin, with new rifling and match grade ammo with a leftover rifle and ammunition that you find scattered in a poor family's house ingame?
  20. nope, even newly made FALs cant hit shit past 600m, the effective range takes account of area targets, made more for suppression purposes than for accuracy. The LRS for the mosin is totally unrealistic, the closest thing to a good scope that should be available for it should be the PU scope, given that it receives fixing on the zoom it has. In the game we have a M24-like scope with togglable zoom and pinpoint accuracy on a rifle that should be pretty useless past 300 meters, given that it isnt found in a store, is usually found in civilian homes.

    and now you're going offtopic again, sum it up with your statistics :P The Zoom issue along with the field of view you get with zooming PU/ACOG are a way more important thing. the vision on the sides of the scope should be totally blurry, as in real life you need to tunnel your vision a bit to aim properly with a scope.

    if they just make long range sniping as difficult as in ACE, and make the LMG's weight actually reduce your running speed/carry capability, things would be balanced by themselves. The unfair side of the game is that your mosin reticle sways NOTHING while you're taking aim at a target at 600 meters, and your bullet will ALWAYS hit where you're pointing. Then you have the mid/close range weapons with random spread that makes it impossible to hit anything above 150 meters. You cant even suppress a sniper with an SKS/M4 as we did in the mod.
