  1. Well, i'm just really, REALLY tired of this bunch of potential teenagers that came to these forums after the game was released and think they know much about everything. Giving fanboys space to this 'witch hunt' that they're doing with every critic that comes out is not helping the development nor is helping the overall community. Fanatism is never a good thing, it's even worse when it is for a developing game that needs decent feedback to know what needs to be changed. A bunch of people posting "its all good, thank you devs for giving this alpha as a present, zombies clip through walls and magpul parts magically reduce your dispersion, but no need to change that, we love the game for what it is" wont help at all. I admit that i overreact pretty much every time, but given the situation, at least i'm showing who the immature people are, like that dude following me every topic.
  2. for people that dont know what hackers can do in the game, just go to the dayz section of the most famous cheats site and see the amount of scripts that are possible to inject in the game. they can spawn items, they can speed hack, they can do a ton of shit, most of them dont do it and just use ESP and 5 or 10% speed hack, so they can play with a huge advantage without being detected. The amount of cheaters in this game is WAY bigger than you think, as most of the people are discrete, the ones that go flying around exploding everything probably are the ones that already have another spare key and dont care about being banned. And as the game have terrible desyncing and glitching problems, they can kill you by dodgy means and if you come here everybody will tell it's desync, lag or glitching, some of them will even contemplate you with an "alpher".
  3. Well, a ton of people are tired of the zombie survival genre, there' always the diehards that will play it for the rest of their lifes, but even developers are getting away from the concept. For example, nether decided a different approach, but its pay to win politic is bullcrap. Epoch for Arma 3 (if they wont do a standalone game) wont have zombies at all, rust removed the zombies from the game, etc. You wont see any recent movies of the genre coming out after World War Z, etc. you're right to a point, but nothing is popular forever, people get tired of the same and the DayZ genre had a LOT of other games to saturate people's minds about the zombie survival niche. Even walking dead, the most pop series about this zombie thing is losing audience. How do you review a game that's not released? You review starts biased from the start just by that.
  4. there cant be reviews for early access/alpha games, where's your god now, huh? doesnt it look like the perfect 'escape route' for a bad game? "it's alpha!!1!"
  5. in not much time you'll bite your tongue. All genres have a 'boom' for some time then people lose interest. See need for speed, as i already mentioned. It was one of the most played games some years ago, when there was all those fast and furious films, it was the "pop" moment for street racing games, now i ask, do you see any interest on a street racing/tuning game right now? Following your argument, "racing games exist since NFS1", but how do you explain it losing all the evidence on the media? Pop culture, friend, it's cyclical, what's pop today, is not tomorrow. The zombie 'pop' period is reaching its end already, walking dead is losing evidence, there's not much films of the genre going out, people are tired of them, people are getting tired of all this 'zombie survival' thing. If you dont understand that, i'm sorry, but the ignorant here is you.
  6. It's only down to hoping, now. And that's a terrible thing. when there's a LOT of money in the equation, anyone that knows the real world knows that people tend to be douchebags and fuck everyone else.
  7. arguments ran short, so you try to change the subject? typical.

how to win more gunfights in forests

aka you go into a roof and third person view people that walk past you, right? Welcome to the jungle bitch, here only the true prepared survive.
  9. jesus christ, you're just plain dumb, silly me thinking you're naive. There's so much bullshit in your post that i wont even bother writing a wall o text to a person who clearly have 2 digits of IQ. First of all, the game only have the public it does because the veterans from the mod, driven by hype, made SA top seller on steam in the release week, if wasnt for the mod players, dayz SA wouldnt even exist. People like you would probably still be playing minecraft or another "of the moment" bullshit. Second: This "zombie survival" niche is a recent thing, brought by walking dead and made to pc gaming by dead island, left 4 dead and got its apex on dayz mod, now it's starting to get old and people dont pay so much attention anymore to games of the genre. Third: You clearly dont know anything about sales and market demand/interest, thinking that all people that bought the game now, right after the apex of this 'zombie survival' tendence, would buy the game 3 years after, when there will be probably another completely different tendencie in the gaming market and DayZ will be like a need for speed is for us. You're clearly dumb if you dont realize that.
  10. not sure if too naive or just plain dumb. you contradict yourself in your own argument without noticing. The game sold this much based on the hype of the mod, now tell me, how would they make MORE money waiting more 2 years, letting their hype fade away and then releasing the game? Yeah, if they would finish the game, they wouldnt sell much at all, seems that the one that's bad with math here it's you, my friend. They made the right decision to make the more money possible from the game, now my point is that they already have the money. Now it's all down to hoping bohemia will actually make up to their promises and finish this game on the scheduled time, and by a brief look on this development timeline, i dont think it will be the case. Dean have some bad issues with scheduling as we can see by the time it took to the standalone even get to this broken alpha that we have now. Plus it's taking forever to implement the most basic mechanics like a decent zombie AI and pathing, decent ballistics, loot system and hunting. If you really "want to believe" this game future will be all rainbows and ponies, dont blame realist people for trying to make their money worth something.
  11. I dont really understand why BE uses this ban wave method, you basically let cheaters do all the damage they can do for like, 2~4 weeks, then ban them. They just need to buy a new stolen key that a lot of people sell on their vip sessions on the cheat forums for like 4~6 bucks, and they're good to go for another month of screwing people's experience. With instabanning you dont let them do the damage in the first place, and if they bypass your system, you have more time to detect and correct your flaws. i dunno man, maybe i'm just bitter with anti hacking companies (been through some games where the anti hack company had for sure a connection with the cheating sites), but it all sounds cheesy as hell to me.
  12. yeah, many many people asked for the standalone because dean hyped this game the entire fucking year after he left the mod development on it's apex. and What makes the game then? If not zombies, not combat, not cars, what does make this game cool? The main things about the mod when it got popularity were that there was no games with a survival perma death mechanic, and that getting gear was exciting, together with pvp being more dangerous and adrenaline soaked than other shooters. And once you got a group, you could go around the map trying to find a car, repair it so you could hang around any place of the map, store your loot, etc. It added the thrill of fearing that you would lose your car. And by no means i buy this "they cant turn the development speed" bullshit, they have the money, if they wanted, they could hire a full team to support the development and get this game on its tracks, but they dont want to waste their already earned money on a game that has unrepairable flaws. "the game was flawed from the start", in rocket's own words.

Stand alone attachment system = COD

ok, now the guns are a placeholder too... Zombies are a placeholder, loot system is a placeholder, guns are a placeholder. Seems that this whole game is a placeholder to another game, LOL. Seriously, people, you should start to put some pression over the developers, the feedback nowadays is way too much fanboy-oriented. Anything bad is accepted with open arms, anything good is taken as a favor. You paid for this game, with or without disclaimer, you paid for it, these forum's attitude must change if we want a finished product before the game dies completely.
  14. bahahaha fuck yeah, and now that they got more than 50 million dollars on their account, the game is going even slower on development. That only points to the "cash grab" direction, only diehard keyboard warriors like this caboose dude dont see that.
  15. one right and 50 wrongs dont make it right either.
  16. fight fire with fire, i guess. i'm being a dick more often lately, cause seems that educated posts pass unnoticed on this forums. People pay more attention to acid comments than to constructive ones.
  17. In your way of thinking, the same applies for them spawning above you and running through walls, right? "if you dont like it, play another game?" Typical fanboy.
  18. sometimes people dont have a group to play with, or just suck and want to see some real action instead of getting wrecked in game. And for the topic trend, their videos are cut out pieces of 10~12 hours of recorded gameplay, usually. And the streams are usually action packed cause they tell friends of theirs to attack them, or go to high trafic areas on full servers. Without mention some of them use dodgy ways to not get killed.
  19. there's probably someone inside bohemia selling backdoors to the most famous hacking sites out there, so i dont think it's a advantage to any on them to stop cheating for good. And there's a ton of people defending the game just cause it's alpha, there's no need to invest time on it, anyway.

    The LMG/GPMG Thread!

Well, would be more decent to make 2 types of M240, FN FALs, AKs, Etc. One common variant without rails and another one rare with rails. That would be win win to everyone, as you wouldnt see people running around all armed with "tacticool" FALs and you'd still have the possibility of finding a more modular variant of your favorite weapon. I'm still against scopes on LMGs unless it's done right, not like in Epoch that when you prone with a SAW scoped you can literally just hold the mouse button and your aim wont even shake. If they will add proper downsides to LMGs against sniper rifles/carbines, i'm all on for it, but i dont think it's the case. I'm actually more worried that they'll keep the shitty accuracy system that's operant right now.

    The LMG/GPMG Thread!

You add 2 images of some modern m240B's, when 95% of the m240's/FN MAGs dont have rails on them. I dont want to start this rail shit again, but you must accept that they're not common on standart infantry squads, they arent even needed, as LMGs have mainly support role, you dont need to be pinpoint accurate with suppressing fire. Try to find a image of a PKM with a PSO or PU scope, you wont find it. That scope in the PKM on your last photo is probably a thermal/night vision scope, obscure technology given the chernarus ambient, to say the least. On RPKs i think scopes would be OK, as long as they'll be innacurate as an AK.

    The LMG/GPMG Thread!

well, if they would add a 'morale' status to the game, i think it could be better represented, as carrying too much weight doesnt just make you slower, it makes you feel multiple joint, feet and possibly back pain, plus you feel really unconfortable when carrying more than 20kg for long walks, running should be virtually impossible, maybe some sprints between the miles of walking, but not even close to what we have now in game.

    The LMG/GPMG Thread!

i think a LMG should need way less maintenance than a rifle, as you'll fire basically the same amount of bullets with both of them on a daily basis, the main downside for carrying a LMG should be the weight. You shouldnt be able to carry a backpack if you stick around with one, maybe just a pouch or a survival bag. It should really limit your running capability and accelerate your need for water. Other than that, the lmgs are usually better than a rifle in most ocasions. Obviously you shouldnt be able to put a scope on a LMG other than the m249. They shouldnt have any red dots/aim attachments too, maybe just a grip and ammo boxes/pouches.
  24. Well, most games based on a true MMO architecture, like rocket promised that would be native on the game, dont have hackers at all, not with the power that we see on dayz. We dont need to get over it, we need a new decent engine.
  25. if you had played the mod for more than, let's say, 50 hours, all this 'survival' shit would already be old to you. It is to me and much people, you can see that by the sucess of epoch, origins and overwatch. I played since 1.7.4, and it get's old really fast, i dont even have the urge to buy standalone, not until they put something that wasnt on the mod on the game.
