This loses some of the feel of dayz but, I find it interesting enough to suggest. Have ~1.5 hour matches. Where at the beginning players spawn in normally, no equipment. Then at the end of the match there is an extraction point, say a helicopter comes in so whoever can get in the helicopter "wins". Perhaps have the extraction point announced halfway through or have it as something players have to find through information on the map. Details like no respawn vs. respawn with no equipment, game length and other minor things would have to be solved through playtesting. Sorry, if this has already been suggested. I did search for it but, not exactly sure what the keyterm would be.
