Canned food = 200 blood, Cooked meat = 800, Blood transfusion = full hp

I usually have 3 canned food with me at all times. Considering I'm moving around it's more than enough to keep topped off. I don't have a problem with food at the moment.

Direct Communications (White) is the way to talk to people within your vicinity. Typing I believe you need to be within 20m of the person. It's longer if using voice though.

Zombie AI is completely and utterly broken

Can't really even say alpha though. It's just the way the engine for ARMA works. Doesn't work well with the zombie AI. I'm sure Arma 3 will be a TON better regarding zed AI or if Rocket decides to, make DayZ a standalone game that'd work well also. -
The following is an event that happened to me today. One that just made me fall in love with DayZ even more and it's funny because I think your average person would rage if it were them. I thought it was an enjoyable experience and very VERY rewarding. I was in Staroye, enjoying life. Had a CZ, AKM, and a revolver, cooked meat, plenty of liquids/food, bandages, painkillers, and tools. Most gear I've had (I know not much) plus a decent amount of zed kills under my belt. Next thing you know I accidentally aggro a zombie behind a building. Runs towards me, I shoot. I miss. Quickly readjust but by then it's too late. The zed swings and breaks my legs. Note I had around 10500 Blood and he broke my legs first swing. Mighty unlucky. I put a hole in his head and quickly follow up the other aggroed zombies. I feel done. Broken legs. No morphine. Closest hospital is Elektro. Was about to just hit the respawn button. Get it over with. But...Something came over me. I wanted to survive. I didn't want to give up. All those other times I gave up. But not this time. My brother just got the game and he was waiting for me. I had gear for him. And I aimed to get it to him crawling or not. Quickly pulled out my map and adjusted my course for Berezino. Hospital there and safer than crawling through Elektro. Closed my map and went on my way. It's funny, I could have just put a heavy object on my "W" Key, left the keyboard and hoped I didn't die on the way there. But I stayed. Held "W". Looked around at my surroundings, listening to the rain fall upon me, and the nature around me. It was actually sort of cool. Almost relaxing. Every time I passed a town or a road I pulled out my map to make sure I was on track and each time I pulled out that map I was closer to living again. I made it to the hospital. Couldn't believe it. Crawled approx 5KM to get that Morphine and it was worth it. In that time I probably could have found weapons and food after respawning but...this made it satisfying. I can quickly see the difference between surviving this game and just playing this game now.

Lighting, Lack of food/water/weapons, first experience

There's plenty on the internet. "DayzDB" in Google. First link. There you go. The Hatchet is also a weapon and is extremely useful early on. Able to get wood, kill zombies and players QUIETLY. Plus no ammo means no taking up space. There are plenty of hot spots for food/water. Pay attention when you log in. In the bottom right there'll be a few words in white. It'll give you your current location. Usually the name of the closest town/city. From there look for landmarks you can connect with things you see on the map to get your bearings. -
You need A beta patch. The last few most recent beta patches for Arma 2 are common. You can find servers with any of those patches. Just make sure you have the right one.

Make sure if you run in a building and run out the other side. Don't keep sprinting. Start crouch walking. Most people forget to just slow down after the line of sight's been broken.

I was playing a few days ago. I normally get 45-60 FPS depending on where I am. Just when I'm about to leave Elektro my FPS suddenly tanks to 5-10 rendering it unplayable. After I disconnect from the server my menu screen is also going at 5-10. I restart the game to see if that'll fix it. I find the menu screen a bit slower but still going at around 45 FPS which I thought it might've been fixed then. Nope. Any server I join now, even ones where before I got 45-60 FPS I'm now always getting 5-10 and whenever I disconnect my menu screen follows with 5-10 FPS. Anyone know what the cause might've been of this? Or have a fix?

Here's how I end up killing/not killing survivors. If it's in an open field or something or I actually SEE the person in the building/on the rooftop before they see me. I'll ackknowledge them and ask friendly but still keep a close eye on them. If I happen to be in a town or something and I accidentally almost like run smack into him face first. I shoot. No questions asked. With how the game's working right now people are just too untrustworthy to not give you that bit of time to ask if friendly if you scare them like that. Cherno/Elektro's always a shoot on sight for me. -
Server able to show you zombies location through walls?

Was playing on one of the Seattle servers (Don't remember which one >.<) and when I spawned I noticed blurry white circles moving around my screen. I noticed they were attached to the zombies and they showed me the location of every zed in the area through all the walls, buildings, etc. Not sure how to explain it? Server side hack? Anyone care to shed some light on this. I joined other servers but none of them had anything like this. Here's a picture. http://imgur.com/DQVsQ -

Oh haha. Pretty cheap bug I think :P. Easy to see when you lose aggro -
I'm seeing a reduced amount of certain weapons. Definitely more hatchet's and double barrel shotguns though. I'm seeing a ton less food also :(

It's hard for people to readjust to something like going from spawning with food/water/weapon to nothing because you get so attached to your equipment as it is. Also the fact the zombies are a bit easier to spot you makes it tough. But meh, it's alpha and I'm sure they'll take player feedback from this.

It'll take a solid 3-4 hours to get used to the inventory trust me. Once you do it's quite easy.
