You get a few meters of grace with an axe. Run into a building and let them walk inside. Practice makes perfect. There's not really any sweet spot but you don't need to headshot with it so just aim for the body. You can always move back if you miss too.

People shoot unarmed people just because they can. Some people also just want to get their murder count up.

It is the distance at which a zombie will spot you yes. At night time it's pretty much 0. Sprint, crouch run, prone crawl. You'll see the Visibility number go down each time you change stances.

I hate people who complain about spending money on "DayZ". DayZ is free. You knew it was alpha and you should've known what you were in for. Research things before spending money on them.

Why didn't you just take care of the zombie that was stuck under the deerstand the in the first place? Would have saved you that pain of the first story.

In DayZ you still need to consider bullet drop though as well as bullet time travel.

Post in the Survivors HQ forum. Lots of people to group up with. And Deviant is partly right. There are definitely more untrustworthy people than trustworthy people in this game. Always keep a close touch on that trigger when meeting someone.

They do have a tool section in which the hatchet goes into. I'm assuming you mean the hatchet staying in the toolbelt and being able to be used as a weapon. Considering how easy zeds get aggroed in 1.7.2, I'd rather have a weapon to defend myself better with. Most weapons you can hear quite far away. Of course, assault rifles, LMG's, Snipers, being the loudest regarding zeds. Slightly less noticable difference if you're a human listening to the gunshots. Go to the DayZ wiki and look at the weapons section. It says how loud a weapon is. But like I said, if you're firing in a town, someone will hear regardless if they're near the town and you're almost always going to have additional zeds coming your way. Louder weapons=more zeds.

Depends how much you want to survive. If you have nothingn of value, might as well respawn. Or just crawling into a big group of zombies is fun. I had good gear with broken legs once. Crawled 5KM to Berezino to get morphine. Worth it haha. Quite the adventure actually. If it weren't for the fact my legs were broken it was quite a peaceful stroll crawl

I have a Nvidia GTX 560 and with the new FPS improvements I get 60FPS in most areas. It's not the most powerful but it definitely gets the job done and isn't super expensive I believe.

You sure you properly installed it and also did you install the new 1.7.2 update for DayZ?

You have the opposite of my problem. I've been in buildings with close to 4 hatchets at one time. Farms are definitely a hatchet hot spot as well as most industrial type buildings.

Players = More of a threat than zombies later on. Stick with it! You only get better with experience in this game.

Berezino is the only other place I know with a hospital other than Elektro/Cherno. The DayZ wiki says morphine can spawn anywhere but Farms but I'm sure any place other than a hospital will have an extremely rare chance. I was in the same situation as you. Crawled 5KM to Berezino to get morphine.

DEFINITELY worth $25. Think of it this way, you're not buying DayZ. You're buying Arma2 which happens to have an amazing mod for it. You can still play Arma 2 and other stuff so it is definitely worth the $25 considering I'd pay that just for the mod.

Skype, Teamspeak, Vent, they all work fine. Considering you guys are just a small group just use Skype.

Many of the open fields up north have a chance to spawn heli's usually. But yes Stary is a hot spot around that general area.

When you start off. Might as well sprint. Nothing to lose. You can also usually get away with sprinting in smaller towns, grabbing the loot, and killing the zombies in the woods by leading them there if you haven't made them lose LOS yet. I always crouch walk when in a building. Easier to hear if other players are in there as well.

Landmarks. The maps also show the contours of the land so you can tell thing such as if you're heading down/up a hill. Pay attention when in town also to larger buildings and the road directions they take. Is the building on a corner? Does it connect to a main road? etc. The bottom right of screen will tell you the nearest town/place you are at. Once you know that just look on the map around said area and get your bearings. Stuff like this is common sense and a general sense of direction.

Supermarkets for sure. Found an 2 Czech backpacks. Was super excited. Went into the next room. Found an ALICE pack. Even more excited.
