Things that should be changed in future patches
Dancingg replied to wowi132's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I see where you're coming from. Just stating my opinion as well :). -
Saying that being a first poster has any significance on the matter is irrelevant. I'm sure he/she's not new to games/forums/internet. Knows how to use google, and is just too lazy to search up themself. Doesn't even ask. Purely states "Someone let me know if I can run it or not". Fucker.

When will people start using their brain and do some SIMPLE SEARCHING. From the looks of it no, you probably won't be able to at a playable rate. Go here http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx and check for yourself. Or you can download the demo and try it out for yourself.

Interesting idea but...Won't happen sorry. There is a suggestion forums as well for this kind of stuff.

I felt like a f*ckin Navy SEAL after this! My first time in DayZ
Dancingg replied to deaddem's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Good on yah. Don't listen to TalentZ. Pussy ass way of playing if you leave. It's stories like this that make DayZ, DayZ. Never heard of death by firing squad haha, good read. -
Yes, grouping up earlier on gives a less chance of someone wanting your stuff.

I have about 50 hours of solo play. It's fun regardless, but it's a different experience that's all. Both have pro's cons. With how many new players are coming in though due to the Arma sale, as well as how aggresive infected are now it may be worth it to grab a partner at least.

Direct is anyone in your vicinity. Everyone is technically in the same "Group" so group will speak to everyone but don't use that. If the server allows "Side Chat", use that to talk to everyone. Vehicle will let you speak to anyone in the vehicle you're currently in. Direct is the only one you should be on other than side chat (Server specific)

Welcome to hell my friend. It's honestly a common sense of direction actually. Using landmarks, road signs, etc. Clouds always go due East I believe so use that to your advantage as well. You can also if you don't mind meta-gaming, going to dayzdb.com and they have a map there you can use to get your bearings a bit easier.

You can sneak around the zombies at deer stands almost every time. More times than not I find a weapon in there. Also remember, the less people there are the less loot will be there.

What is needed to venture to Stary and NWAF?
Dancingg replied to idunc's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just be cautious. Consider all your surroundings to be deadly. -
When you look the door your crosshair should become a symbol similar to this, |><| Or something like that. All you have to do at that point is click the middle mouse, Just make sure you're out of the way of doors because they can break your legs. Also you can scroll on the door and select it manually from the scroll list. Remember not all doors can be opened.

Looking for serious minded players.
Dancingg replied to KField86's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well constructed post. I like that. Definitely looks like something I'd be interested in. Added. -
You break your legs with no morphine. What do YOU do?
Dancingg replied to Zexis's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I crawled 5KM to Berezino to get my morphine. worth it! Quite a fun trip -
Zombies are overpowered since patch 1.7.2 (Video as proof)
Dancingg replied to wietse02's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Not overpowered. Pay attention to your visibility meter. That coupled with the fact he had CLEAR line of sight to you. Makes sense. Just crouch run by towns. Cuts down your visiblity by like 30% -
If you keep thinking like that you're going to have a bad time. NEVER get attatched to your gear. You're going to lose it at some point. Don't respwan, no fun in that.

Try hitting shift twice. Sometimes fixes the sprint thing. Other times it depends on the terrain. If you're going even slightly uphill your character won't fully sprint up it. You need to abort, then disconnect, then go back in through player list Don't talk in group chat. Very annoying. Use "Direct Communications" only to talk or "Side Chat" (Don't use voice chat in side chat though) if the server has it enabled. More often than not though, Direct Communications is the only one that should be used. Only people in your vicinity will hear you. I believe it's 80m using voice and 20m typing? Hit the "." button until in the bottom right "Direcft Communications" is selected. Then use "/" to type or "CAPS" to use Voice chat.

Vet servers usually have no crosshairs or name tags. Expert servers will have no 3rd Person, no Crosshairs, etc. Zombie aggro's actually not bad now. If you find a darker server you can pretty much sneark around without anyone seeing at all. Pay attention to your "Visibility" number in your debug window. Higher it is, the farther a zombie will aggro on you if you're in their line of sight. Pay attention to which way they're facing and plan your route accordingly. Otherwise if you're in a group you may get away with rushing in a building, looting fast, rushing out, and killing zombies out of town.

A few questions, thinking of buying this
Dancingg replied to thelonewarrior's topic in New Player Discussion
The Arma 2 mechanics as a FPS is nothing like any other FPS. Be prepared for a steep learning curve. It's worth it though! Lots of videos explaining how to do things so just do some searching. -
I havnt played since 1.5.6..What changes have been made?
Dancingg replied to AshB's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Whiskey bottles actually work better for alerting zeds. -
Shaking strangers hands while saying friendly every single time...There's gotta be counseling for that. But seriously. I see things that remind me of DayZ. No real life/DayZ conflicts though
-
Wasn't surprised at the M1911 or DMR popularity choices.

Is the PMC DLC worth it for the higher res textures?
Dancingg replied to SG-17's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm sure it's a nice addition of you have a bit of extra cash to spare. Otherwise I don't think it's needed unless you like your games looking top notch. -
Official 'Friendly' Challenge & Response
Dancingg replied to Vexus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Good idea, but it's too bad only a small percentage of people in the game will likely use it.
