Go to Newegg. Good deals there plus you can learn something. Do some comparing and research on specific parts. CPU/Video Card are generally the combination of things that need to be looked at most. Don't forget power supply and depending on the CPU you need a decent amount of RAM.

Yah, I mean even if you don't want to build it there are many other better priced PC's that'll give you more bang for your buck.

Make sure you have the Arma 2 Beta patch installed. It's separate from the DayZ mod.

Did you download the Arma 2 Beta? You need that in conjunction with the new DayZ patch. They're two separate things.

Oh I'm sure they'll come. Just join more populated servers. Also some servers let you see other players/zombies on the map. I believe orange is zombies. Blue are players.

I'm starting to see MANY posts with recurring themes..."Can I run it?"...."What do I expect?"...."WHY DON'T I HAVE A GUN I SAW A GUN IN THAT ONE VIDEO?" Thanks to the lovely Summer Steam Sale, we're getting so many more new survivors/bandits coming in and in an effort to keep the forums a bit cleaner it'd be nice if you'd just look around a bit and search for your answer. I can assure you within 5-10 minutes of searching you'll find your answer and won't have to clutter up the forums with the same questions resulting in the same answers. And remember, there are specific forums for specific questions/topics/problems. You know such as, "Troubleshooting" forum for tech problems and questions. I really don't like seeing the "General Discussion" forum have threads that shouldn't be in there. It's nice to see such great exposure for this mod. Just remember it's alpha and there are many problems with it, and if it's happening to you? Well...I'm sure it's happening to someone else too :P. Happy surviving to the survivors. I wouldn't bother with flares. Wastes space. And I'd only use chem lights to search rooms if need be. To throw them though. Hit "F" to sift through your weapons/equipemnt. It'll say "Flares" or "Chemlights" in the top right corner. Then all you have to do is use the mouse button to throw. Hold it longer to throw farther

Adopting purple text eh? Haha nice. But yes DayZ CAN be a good game to upload. However with so many people doing it now you should try and do something new. Considering how much blank space can be in the game, you need to be pretty entertaining to old viewers attention or come to the table with something entirely new.

Keep trying. It's always a new experience xD. If you don't want to you can also just have one person wait, and the other person hit "Respawn" in the menu to suicide and try a new spawn point. Should only take a few times. Otherwise no there's no way to spawn near someone else

No of course not. But it's nice to have a ballpark idea. At least then it's someplace to start comparing. Or give you an idea of if you want to try the demo out or not.

Sorry man, this isn't something that's going to have and RPG aspects to it from the looks of it. Not sure if the Arma engine would even be able to support something like that. This is a simulator. Adding in advantages such as "Leveling up" wouldn't work well.

This is a hardcore game. From personal experience, DayZ is not what I would call a great community but it's definitely one of the better ones considering.

Doubt you'd get the exact spot as the tent. I'm sure you'd either just spawn beside the tent, spawn someplace further away, or have a bug happen in which you spawn inside the tent and can either vault out or get stuck.

Even if the game wasn't in alpha. I'm sure people would lose their gear alot. Just...in a different way xD. As far as I know character resets weren't part of the update? I'm sure you're just victim to a bug.

Side chat is server specific. Direct Communications is really the only way to communicate with people. It's best used with a mic and by selecting Direct Comms and using the "CAPS" key you can speak to players in your vicinity.
