    Cocksucking Fucking Hackers

We know. No need to use your big words to make another thread complaining about it.
  2. Dancingg

This game is so cruel ...

Vaulting can sometimes get you out of those
  3. Any loot dropped disappears soon after you leave the area. Tents/vehicles need to be saved to be able to survive a server restart.

I Feel Bad for New Players

A couple isn't much of a loss. Too bad you don't want to play anymore but hope to see you back again!

    Starting Off

I would sprint. When you spawn fresh. You really have nothing to lose. I like to get back in the game ASAP, even if it means getting shot a couple times. Remember to look at your bottom right corner of the screen when you spawn. It`ll give you your location. If you want to use an external map such as Dayzdb.com it`s a great place to get your bearings after you've figured out your location. You've got a few choices when you spawn. Running straight for the hills will yield you north most likely. There are small towns/outposts/deer stands you can find equipment at. Your first order of business would be finding a weapon. Even something such as a hatchet is good since you need a hatchet for tree cutting later anyways. Then finding food/drinks is next. Make sure to pick up watches, maps, compasses, and such for your toolbelt on the way since they don't take up your regular inventory space. In the larger towns such as Elektor, Cherno, Berezino, Stary, etc. Shoot on sight. It's a big place to loot and there are always people looting the high traffic areas. They will shoot you on sight. Deer stands, military tents, and barns are good places to find weapons. Deer stands are scattered everywhere and are the safest to get loot from. Not always the easiest though. Barns will usually net you a double barrel shotty or a Winchester. Good starting weapons. Supermarkets in the larger towns will always spawn something you need. Whether it be a gun, larger backpack, or other supplies.

Backpack dropping.. safe or not at all?

I believe since it's just classified as loot that it will despawn if you leave the area. Plus it has no "Save" feature like vehicles and tents do so it wouldn't get through a server reset which happens frequently. Don't know why you'd want to hide the backpack. It can hold a lot of shit.

    Who else is using TrackIR?

    ALT key FTW.
  8. Does suck losing gear to something such as a glitch. But like everyone else is saying. Pick yourself back up and go looting again. Won't be the last time you have that gun.
  9. Dancingg

So today i met a bandit.

Murderers IMO are people who just kill on sight. Right away. No tact, no nothing. Bandits use their own judgement, to deciding who to kill, and what method to do it in. Or maybe they'll just rob. Bandits are a bit more imaginitive. Then there's the whole other class of loser "bandits" who camp Elektro/Cherno killing fresh spawns.

How do I switch out a weapon from pack?

Always take the weapon you want OUT from your backpack. The game will automatically switch it out for you and put your AKM in your backback while giving you the CZ

    Couple of questions

All cars can be repaired with the right parts. Fire world = graphical glitch. And it's best to find a weapon first, then food/drinks. Loot smaller towns if you're too cautious. If you've got nothing to lose. Bum rush Elektro or Cherno and loot as much as you can and then run north.
  12. I was playing a few days ago. I normally get 45-60 FPS depending on where I am. Just when I'm about to leave Elektro my FPS suddenly tanks to 5-10 rendering it unplayable. After I disconnect from the server my menu screen is also going at 5-10. I restart the game to see if that'll fix it. I find the menu screen a bit slower but still going at around 45 FPS which I thought it might've been fixed then. Nope. Any server I join now, even ones where before I got 45-60 FPS I'm now always getting 5-10 and whenever I disconnect my menu screen follows with 5-10 FPS. Anyone know what the cause might've been of this? Or have a fix?
  13. Just having the game cleaned up technically would be nice. Mostly stuff like the zombie AI.

    So what’s next?

Set goals for yourself. See how long you can survive with no weapons. Or set an ammo limit to yourself. See how long it takes you to run from one end of the map to the other. Full sprint. Only carrying food/drinks. There's many possibilities to keep things interesting. Just gotta think them up.
  15. Supermarkets is where I've found most of my tents. Vehicles have spawns and there's external maps which have them listed.
  16. I think ghillie suits will be glitchy for awhile. Best just to expect something to go wrong when equipping them
  17. Open fields. Really. Just search in open fields. You're bound to find some

Question about something I dont dare to try

No, I believe the gear would disappear awhile after you leave the area. Backpack's don't come with a "Save" feature I don't think either so you wouldn't be able to save it going through a server reset or something.

Bizon PP-19 SD or AKS-74 Kobra

I don't mind the Bizon. Good sized clip. Yes the ammo's quite rare but you usually should be just using your sidearm in most cases other than PvP so you should be able to save ammo for your Bizon. All really depends on what you're planning on doing since they're two totally different guns. Both are pretty good. Silenced weapons are always a welcome weapon in my book. Always has a use somehow someway.
  20. At this stage of the game. It's just not able to defend properly against hackers. Unstable and easy to modify. It's just something that you have to deal with, not get rid of. Hackers'll tend to be always ahead especially in something like an alpha version of a mod. Just gotta tough it out for now.

    Installing Dayz

Check the forum stickies. There are step by step instructions on how to do it.

    I can't attack!

Check out threads. SEARCH. You don't start with a weapon. Barns/Farms are good places for starter weapons. You can choose to explore on your own or use an external map such as dayzdb.com . Find a weapon first, gathering food/water/pop on the way. Make sure you learn to sneak properly. Infected aggro a lot more now than they used to so never sprint in a town unless you need to. Crouch running/walking is the best way to move around town while proning is the best for in-town situations.

Zombies or Gun shots in town?

I only go towards the gunshots if I can tell it's not a group there. Also if I hear a .50 CAL or something, I run the opposite way.
  24. I don't think you realize the limitations of this mod at this stage. This stage, being alpha. Arma 3 will unlock much more potential. With the new major patch it'll take awhile for the servers to become stable. Just wait a bit, then enjoy the game. If you don't like it. Play Arma2 and the many mods/campaigns you can download for it.
  25. ^ This. So many times going prone in a town, only having aggroed a zed 50m+ away. Shooting him and noticing the zed right beside me not aggroing.
