I'm not a fan of the fact they're removing the M107, but I think it would be great to have instead of the AS50. 7.62x51mm, zeroing of 800, and with a night vision scope, just make it as rare if not more than the M107. Could also possibly add in one or two of the other Mk17 variants to add more uses to the Mk17 magazine. What do you guys think?

Just because it's a post-Soviet state, doesn't mean that any other alliances or friendlies could move in to assist with the breakout of the infection (i.e. the U.S.). Maybe add some creative story to your DayZ play time, makes it a lot better experience. ^^ -

Another thing: After reading the change log about weapons not having attachments, I'm not sure how this would affect the NV scope on the M110, but would still love to see it. ^^ -
Honestly, I don't find any reason for the AS50, but the M107 is my baby and I'll dearly miss it. If the dev team for the mod would just get permission to use ACE in combination with DayZ, I think less people would complain about all the "1337 twelve-year old snipers" since it would require the skill and intentions to actually pick up a rifle and kill someone.

I don't like the thought of not having any attachments on my guns. Having some of the same guns with added attachments always gave me even more to loot for. Not to mention it added in different variables of how you would have to play the game and what advantages it gave you for putting effort in the work to get that gun. Without the attachments the mod will just seem a bit to plain to me. Edit: The only way I would see it working is if you had to FIND the attachments separately from the gun and then you can attach them. -

My team's server is also working on getting it as well. We have the Mk17s and I personally love the CCO w/ flashlight. -

I never really understood why they decided to replace it with the LRR when it's very close to being the AS50's equal. -
Have you ever played ArmA while using A.C.E? The add-ons added for sniping are incredible. It actually takes into account many of the variables you actually would need to look into before firing (in other words, you need to have skill and knowledge other than picking up a gun and shooting to be good). Some of my favorites would have to be wind direction, having to apply the rule of triangles, and the actual difference in speed/velocity in calibers. Here's the topic on their wiki here.

It's an issue between the changing between the "new" HIVE and "old" HIVE. They recently did some server maintenance and have switched to a new hive, although, many servers have not been restarted in order to actually acquire these settings. You're probably just playing two servers where one or the either are on a different hive. -

I have a friend (leader of my team) who's currently running a Taviana server. One of those servers where it's 500+ vehicles, weapon boxes around the map, added custom bases, added scripts, etc. It's not constantly just PvP unless there's 50+ people on, but it still feels like Wasteland with zeds most of the time. Many of the regulars (including me, and the rest of our team) have become bored and mainly aggravated because of how the server is played out with how easy it is to get geared up, the amount of vehicles, and especially the kind of community and players it attracts (which, none of us are very fond of). We've told him about what we think about it and maybe under-going some changes to make the server to have a more "DayZ" feel to it. With having said among the lines of; removing a majority of the vehicles, remove all the weapon boxes on the map and deleting a majority of the added in bases. Even though we remove the weapon boxes, we could also stabilize it by adding in barracks to some of the custom bases remaining on the map so that not all military loot would be coming from the Martin Barracks as a main focus for players (It would also add diversity to the map and makes it reasonable to travel around the map). Of course, after trying to reason with him, he insisted on saying no, and keeping the server how it is. No, I'm not starting this thread because he said no (It's his server, he can run it how he wants to). I just would like to see on behalf of the DayZ community, what kind of server would you rather have? The 500+ vehicles, gearing up completely in 15 minutes of game time, etc. (Wasteland with zeds feel). or A more survival feel; what DayZ should be, with the difficulty, the struggle, and time consuming fun that had began this mod all together.
