    That's why I wrote 2 pages back: "Unfortunately, the one I'll be presenting when it's done texturing wouldn't work ingame, 16k polys for all the nice rendering details. Would have to reduce to 2~3k for an ingame weapon, max. It can be done and I stored the low-detail before I applied smoothing, but it won't be as pretty" It's a for-rendering smoothed version. The raw is at 1k polys: But I suck at texturing, so I'm letting the pumpgun rest for now. Unless Joey wants to pick it up? In other news... frying pan. Not too happy about the result, but what can ya do.

    IIRC, when the server fails to load your player profile it doesn't log you in further... that's when you get the perpetual waiting for host / looking at that briefing map / similar hang-ups. Those times, ArmA loads a default player (George Smith or, if it happens multiple times during a server's uptime, similar names) but ultimately doesn't spawn it, sometimes resulting in the player name appearing in the multiplayer stats screen (that is now disabled). Something like that....

    Anything you'd particularly like to see? I'm waiting to be in a better mood before I approach the shotgun again, need to make a fresh UV layout, the old one wasn't going to work and look good without going to ridiculous texture sizes because the shells didn't overlap. What vegetables do you think would fit into DayZ? Maybe some mushrooms?

    Whatever furthers the game, go right ahead ;) Your name makes it kinda hard... with the movie and whatnot... first thing that comes up are sleeping pills (put them in a bottle of water, place it somewhere. someone else picks it up and drinks it, they get knocked out after 30~60 secs). Any alternate ideas?

You know you've played too much DayZ when you notice the food meter's going red, you grab the phone and dial the pizza delivery, by the time he asks what you want you realize what you're doing... and order anyways, hoping you find some food and a good place to logout before he arrives. *true story*

    *grabs into the magic hat* Abra-Kadabra *sigh* texturing the pumpgun is a pain... Maybe I'll just try to fix my Zbrush installation, see if I cant just polypaint in there.... might save me a lot of trouble. If you're wondering... it has me color-coding the seperate UV shells atm just so I can START texturing...

    I know right? And with the amount of light these produce, if you suspect there's a guy with a NVG in a general direction, just fire a round over there and he'll likely be blinded for a couple of seconds.

    Uhm... yea, wasn't even about artistic stuff but for coding... God, I'd be in the poor house if my salary depended on moving a few pixels around :D Anyways, not taking anything personal. Sometimes things happen, other times not. And thanks, incendiary rounds ;) That's where I wanna go with the Vindicator, incindiary buckshot pump-action 12-gauge. Anyone know if that stuff exists, or can fill me in on the ballistic characteristics of incendiary rounds? PS.: Loving the signature... the guy who first told me about DayZ puts on The Life Aquatic everytime we can't settle on a movie to watch :D

    Yea, it's a little off here and there, I didn't bother to give it a global scale to go by. If they were ever fitted into the game they'd be scaled to reference. Basic object transformations (rotate/translate/scale) don't hurt the model or the UV mapping, so there wouldn't be a final decision until they went ingame. As long as stuff scales in it's environment, e.g. the different instruments in the surgical kit, I'm happy: Not sure what you mean with wall climbing, like ram it into a drywall to pull yourself over? If you mean on a ladder, why not, it's got a belt-clip hole for a reason ;) As to the vindicator ammo, I hopped into JA2 v1.13 to look what kind of gun I'd like to see with that, and I have an idea. No promises though, whether something turns out good or not is always hard to gauge, and I suck at 3D art.     When running? Yea. But the hatchet's already freaking broken when running, not like it makes much difference. For hitting, I guess it could work. Sure, it wouldn't have the swinging momentum you'd wish for... Anyways, tomatoes: Here's hoping someone eventually picks up this thread and sends Joey a PM about getting those canned foods into the SA.

    Ridges are texture ;) That'd be a little overkill on the polycount seeing how it's tiny. Alright ;) Will get right on it now that the machete is sorta finished: Btw Joey, we should look into fruits & vegetables! You know, 3 tomatoes, 2 apples, 4 carrots... that kind of stuff. Especially if they make gardens lootable :D Plus they lend themselves to nice rotten textures.
