Yeah, the glitchy zombies needs to be solved first
-
Something I thought about... this is just me speculating. The thing I hate the most about dayz is the glitchy and insanely fast zombies. Making it really hard to lose them. What I thought about is a total revamp of how the environment and zombies actually work. What if zombies were a little bit slower, slow walk as the slowest and jog as the fastest (or something like that). There would be much more spawned zombies than now. Getting damaged by a zombie, bit or scratched, anything would make you infected. Making you lose blood (if you keep getting beaten up you would lose blood faster ofc) and when you die, you turn into a zombie. You cant play as him, it basically just replaces you with a NPC zombie but it still has all your stuff. Which would mean we would see walking player corpses with who knows what equipped among the zombies. There could be some way to prevent you from being infected... some medical supplies or something - although it should be really rare. I'm not completely sure if its totally balanced but it somehow feels like it. Because of the slower zombies its easier to get away and lose them. But, if you for some reason even gets scratched by one you get infected and need medical help asap. Which still makes zombies a threat and you need to be very careful of even being hit by one, even if it means once. Thoughts?

A few suggestions for zed's, I dont know if this already effect them but it didnt look like it. How about making zed's visual almost none during night time? And they're only going for their hearing? Unless someone is going with a flashlight or throwing flares or something. Then they'd go and investigate the light source? Also, I'm not really sure how to lose LOS of a zed's chasing you... they're constantly at your back, they're running as fast if not faster than yourself. How about making them a little bit slower? Or give them some kind of stamina so they cant sprint after you the whoooole time... After some time chasing you they might lose interest or just get tired? They're a hunking piece of rotting flesh after all, their rotten legs cant carry them that much can they? ;) Any tips how to lose LOS of a zombie chasing you?

Is it just me or are you being spotted much more often by zombies when crouched? Intended? It is really annoying to constantly have to crawl when in first person.. almost makes me feel sick... makes me wish all servers had 3rd person, at least when crawling

I'd want Guild wars style, or f2p. However, if f2p, NOT PAY TO WIN, cosmetics only! I'd like to see it both community and studio developed

Just to clarify, I dont give a single fuck about getting killed by a player, if I leave myself exposed and get shot, I probably wasnt careful enough. It was my own fault. I love being on my toes, hearing a gunshot, my first thoughts being in what direction the shot was, is he nearby, am I in danger. My problem is when everyone look the same, I cant tell anything about them. I have absolutely no idea about their humanity. My safest bet is to just shoot everyone on sight, screw being diplomatic. Thats why I personally liked the idea of skin change depending on your characters actions. You rob people, shoot survivors, you get the bandit skin. Then I know, this guy would probably rather shoot me than just take my stuff. I better shoot him first. If I see a survivor, me personally who just dont want to shoot everyone, might think... "hey, maybe he want to team up" or something like that. Maybe even if you kill enough bandits, you get a police skin or whatever, showing that this guy will most likely not shoot you unless you're a dick. I dont give a fuck about getting killed by a player, what I dont like is I cant tell anything about a person in the few first seconds. Which means I better just shoot instead of taking the chance and communicating with him - in case he would happen to be a bandit. -

As long as I can get some way to see who might/might not be trustworthy im happy. With the removal of bandit skins, everyone kill everyone on sight just to be safe. -

Rocket, just my 2 cents. I dont think there should be a specific "mechanic" for grouping up, that should the players decide themselves. However, with the removal of the bandit skins, you have absolutely no idea what humanity a player has. You have absolutely no idea if you can trust the guy the slightest. Before, when the bandit skin and survivor skin was in place, at least we have an idea what kind of player we met. If he was a survivor, there were probably a bigger chance of trusting him, a bandit not as much. We still cant trust them all in, but we had a first impression of what guy we met. Right now, no one have any idea what humanity a player has, and therefore is killing everyone on sight just to be safe. That is not how it should work. We need some kind of indicator, like skins, what kind of player we're encountering. Not saying we should know everything about the player, because who does. But something simple like the look of the character you've encountered gives you the idea if he is someone you can trust, or someone you should be careful around.
