Secondary disclaimer: If my first disclaimer did not get the point across, I doubt it could be implemented. Though it would be glorious even if the fire could only reach about 50-100 yards. Graphically, it's not that difficult to implement (You CAN have LODs on fire sprites, you know), but the sheer amount of calculations needed for a dynamic fire will likely cause issues if the standalone engine has any difficulties relaying that much data. Then again it can handle hundreds of bullets flying around in large engagements as well as dozens of zombies.

Think about it. I would love to set a field or forest on fire, drawing in zombies and players far and wide. Then we could have a big ol' family reunion. Eh? Good plan, I think Disclaimer: I actually think anybody who finds a flamethrower or box of Molotov cocktails would win DayZ, if said fires were uncontrolled (Or had no way of controlling). And of course, we can't have people winning an MMO.

That's actually a tactical problem. Ever noticed that zombies have a difficult time hearing/seeing you during a storm? Well if you're in a storm and the other guy isn't, suddenly he's at a disadvantage if you're one of those Kill on sight types of guys. Considering he'll be dodging zombies and running all over the place, while you can just walk from point to point.

Rudimentary sniper scopes do in fact have a noticeable glint at certain angles. The SV98 is a prime example. Veterans I've talked to have said that's often the only thing one notices before they take the shot. This is not always noticeable when the shooter is surrounded by brightly lit objects, or when the scope's end is covered. However, untrained snipers will have the very end of the scope exposed to sunlight when shooting out of windows. Which immediately draws attention, as it shines bright in contrast the comparatively dark room. Also Battlefield 3 took scope glint to an unrealistic/annoying extent, for the sake of whiny babies who aren't satisfied unless their targets are brightly outlined for them. Seriously, when I first noticed the glint I thought it was a flashlight mounted to the rifle.

Winter weather suggestion(pics included)

Chernarus is a very big place. I think the areas near the north-west airfield could see some snow and frost now and then. Since it's by no means a tropical location in the first place. Maybe not enough to cover the land in snow, but enough to create a frosty effect (Could be applied with decals or a situationally/regionally cued layer-switch) Perhaps they could extend the north and west borders a tad, just enough to get back further into that mountainous area where such an environment transition would go unchallenged by the complainers. Also the mountainous areas could receive quite a bit more precipitation. -
I would say the ability to customize your vehicle with parts you find laying around would definitely add immersion and an increased desire to protect the vehicle, within reason. You can't mount a bulldozer to a hatchback and still get it to hit 50+ KPH (though that would be hilarious).
