Simple because Admins might want their server to be done a specific way For things such as spawn selection it should never be forced on a server, And now that its already been implemented as an option, its stupid to remove it Because players dont want it on the server they are playing its like giving a child candy, then wanting to take it away because you planed to give them a lollipop so you blame the guy at the store The best approach is to make things optional or available to change, that way admins can do what they want and the players of that server that want something changed can complain and talk to the admins compared to the guys who slave away to make the updates

Could be many things, Have you tried simply logging into another server? There are a few other Things you could try Such as Re installing the latest version of the Dayz you are playing, Another Would be to Reset your Arma Settings, To do that Go to your Documents Folder, Open your Arma2 Folder and delete Arma2OA.cfg If that Still Dose not work you could try deleting your profiles folder, Which is either in your Arma2 Folder or in Arma2 Other Profiles if not, you could always try Putting your head between your knee's and kissing your bum goodbye
