Anyways, i'm getting off topic. Akm is a good addition. Now, for more AK variants and more traditional weapons. (The long horn makes me lol)

It's not exactly difficult to code in a new caliber. It's not pointless, because it adds a select ammo type to be added to the lootspawn, thus causing any other ammo type to spawn in its place. So, instead of just finding say 7.62 or 7.62x39 you have this new caliber that also spawns. This bloats the loot-tables requiring players to actively search for the proper ammunition type for their gun. Regardless of it only being used in select rifles, that's good because it's something you may want to hold onto if your looking for that ammo, or to throw away or leave if you do not need it. More calibers means a bloated loot tables a bloated loot table means we have to go actively looking instead of just the generic ammunition types we have now.

Heavier weapon. Part of the dexterity system, it feels really nice; the sway tbh. .
-
Really? My buddy has 4 drum mags, FULL. I have 5 30 round mags FULL. I also have 5 boxes of SKS ammo in my pack, while my buddy has 6.
-
I know. It frustrates the fucking hell out of me. I don't understand their logic. BLOAT THE LOOT TABLES. That way I actively have to SEARCH for stuff. I want different calibers for different weapons. I want the weapon that I use to be dictated by what I ammo I can find. The streamlining of the game to and weapon calibers and not adding weapons because "They're functionally the same" pisses me off. All guns ARE FUNCTIONALLY THE SAME. THEY TAKE BULLETS, AND SEND THE PROJECTILE OUT THE BARREL. I really don't understand this logic and if I ever met these guys in game I would rant at them so hard. Their design decisions are getting really absurd. Gah, I can't talk about this, frustrates me.

The model is done, no idea why it hasn't been implemented yet. I have a sneaking suspicion that most, if not all the models of the weapons are finished, but they're only releasing them in increments to make it seem like content. Which is a buzzkill if true.

That's desirable and rare..? Lmao. I've found 6 entire sets on a single life in EXP. I run with the OREL top and cop pants and I look sexy as hell.

I want SOME of these authentic gameplay features

Lol wat. We don't have a detailed medical system, the current one is shit. Movement needs refinement because we're way too fast. And interaction is FAR from complete a lot of work still needs to be done on all 3 of those things you mentioned. None of those are even close to being finished. -
Intresting article on DayZ on Wired

Sure you can. You round up a posse of your most trusted rustlers and go on a manhunt! -
Are snipers the most harmless thing in DayZ?
Daemonkid replied to bauertschi's topic in General Discussion
Couple of 800 meter kills from the Balota apartments to the airstrip a few days after launch. Haven't sniped to often in DayZ SA after though, just way too boring. Did however steal my buddies sniper trying to get some guy 500 meters away ontop of a building, but that was when they removed the bullet splash, so correction is really really hard to do, since I can't see the impact point in relation to my crosshair so I can adjust accordingly. Like others have said, it's all about who is behind the scope, their patience and skill are a huge factor. -
What if instead of having a name for what each weapon is in the description, we remove the detailed descriptions and use generic weapon names like "Fully automatic rifle, Semi auto, Pistol ect."it should also omit the ammunition the weapon is chambered for. You have to figure out that on your own, hah. Just another thought, some weapons in inspection have their caliber listed on it, so remove description keep the inspection option, and people have to look at their weapon and investigate it. Remember were survivors with no weapons training or much knowledge about these things so the detailed descriptions don't really need to be there..

That's even more hilarious. What a fucking joke ahahahaha.
-
We'll that's your opinion man, but evidence supports otherwise.
-
Oh it was a little jab at the folks who argue weapon dispersion is because we're unskilled survivors who know nothing. My little idea is just remove the labels, chaingun said it better than I did, but that's the general gist of what I was thinking.
-
Also a good idea.
-
That was was hilarious. Like... ahahahahahaha. Tough guys eh.
-
I like the new sway, it's nice. Needs more fine tuning but we are on the right track which is good.
-
No, it's not "Okay". It removes a whole layer of gameplay. Having to find the right optic to be mounted on the right gun, all this stream lining does is remove the aspect of having to actually scavenge for what you're looking for.
-
Your joking right? Tents don't make the game any easier...there is over 2 fucking years of this implementation in the mod. It wasn't gamebreaking then or now. Nor did it mean you didn't have to trek out there, actually stash it with loot, risk dying again getting there or the possibility of it being looted. Tents don't let you re-gear easily, they allow you to store items you think you may need later, or that rare item you don't want to lose by it being on your person in the off chance you find that rare mag for that rare weapon you have stashed. Any tent worth its salt is going to be out in the boonies, not fucking 5 mins from the coast, so it's not like you're skipping re-gearing because if it's not hidden well or out in the boonies it's GOING to be looted. So, you die, and now you have this long as trek across the map. If I didn't stop anywhere to get food or drink or basic equipment, I would DIE on my journey back to camp.
-
Relocating tents and all those ideas are stupid as hell. Like, no. This is a non-issue. It was fine in the mod, and it will be fine here.
-
M4's have been confirmed to only spawn at Chopper crashes from what I have read. Unsure about mags though.
-
With the kind of comments i've seen on this forum, I wouldn't be surprised.
-
Tents are fine. L2NPLAY. It's like you guys think tents are going to last undiscovered within a 10 min jog from the coast.. nonono. That's not how it works. Those will be raped and pillaged faster than I get drunk off a 60 of Captain Morgan. Any tent storage worth its salt is going to be way out there... way fucking out there. Like such a long jog that it's not even worth it for regearing unless you have specific items you only use like a loadout or specific way you like to dress. (In the mod I had a tent stash of just AKM'S since it was one of my favourite guns and was quite common/ammo.) You're arguing about a non-issue. Like I can't even... have any of you arguing played the mod.. like Jesus.

Eh. Not really. In a SHTF situation, we'll all have to make tough decisions but I won't go out of my way to harm someone. I don't enjoying harming other people physically. I'll fight if required but don't go looking. On topic: How will dismemberment give the game a AO rating? CoD WaW had dismemberment. The anti-material rifle would take OFF arms, legs ect. Artillery left you gibed from the torso down. Bouncing betties took out your shins, yet it was okay in that, but not this?
