A couple days ago my friend and I were playing on first person as usual and suddenly we couldn't hear each others gunshots even from 10 meters away (only impact sounds when shot in vicinity). Changing servers, rebooting or even reinstalling the whole game didn't help. But as soon as we entered the flush -command it went away. We can't be the only ones with this problem so we decided to post it here. So guys, if you and your friends can't always hear the same gunshots, you better try Flush by pressing Shift + "-" and then type flush. Hope this helps. Copied from reddit. Give it a try.

Southern portion of map seem sparse these days?

Just so you know. They moved the spawns up there due to the fact they are building up that area. You've seen the southern parts of the map, there is nothing really new there. In the North East, they are adding a lot of new towns and stuff up there and they want you to spawn close to it, so you can actually explore the new cities. -

Yes there is? 7.62x51 is NATO. 7.62x54 is Russian. The 7,62x51 is the NATO designation for the .308 Winchester round. It was developed to replace the .30-06 (7.62x63) Springfield Model of '06 for the M14 rifle. The 7.62x54R is the oldest full-power military cartridge still in use today. It was developed in Russian in 1890, for the Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant Rifle. It is a RIMMED case, as opposed to the rimless 7.62x51. Power is approximately the same as the .308. It uses .310" diameter bullets, has a case neck of .340", and an overall length of 2.20". -

Lolwat? In the long run, it is meaningless. Most games get away with "rifle ammo" and that is it. So? DayZ isn't most other games. Jesus christ. Stop encouraging this streamlining crap. It's bad for the game. Are you telling me you'll quit if they add in the proper calibers for their respective weapon? -

Uhm. I've cooked plenty of deer steak on an open fire. It took about 10 mins, and the window from cooked to burned is incredibly small, like 30 seconds. Never had any issues. I wonder why yours are not cooking properly. Also, if using gas stoves. A pot or pan IS required.

Uhm. DayZ was popular BECAUSE of the challenge. My god people like you are ruining the beautiful thing DayZ once was. It was always about the challenge, DayZ moniker was the ANTI-GAME. Not cater to the lowest fucking denominator. That's why hardcore fans are getting irritated we were promised a authentic, gritty, difficult and unforgiving zombie apocalypse survival sandbox yet all we've got right now is a streamlined, open world deathmatch. -

This is pure bullshit. Laziness at it's fucking finest. What a load of shite. I don't want plenty of calibers for different weapons for REALISM reasons. I want many different calibers for GAMEPLAY REASONS. For fucksakes. It makes ammo actually valuable. Sure you may find ammunition, but is it the right ammo for the gun you have now? What if you find say, 7.62x39 but can't find a weapon that takes the ammunition. But now you find a mosin, and have generic 7.62 if there was no distinction made it makes finding ammo almost redundant because ammo is incredibly abundant as is, if they made distinctions within each ammo type, it adds another layers to looting. Trying and praying for the right ammo type. -

Well, that's a matter of opinion. I find the sway on the AKM to be hardly noticeable. While the Mosin and the SKS are pretty much in the same boat for me there. It's there, but barely.

Uhm. Yes they do? It's on EXP, my AKM has a small but noticeable sway when aiming down the sights. Same with the mosin, the SKS, the M4.. There is also the delay when when moving your weapon around because that's apart of the weapon dexterity system.

They all have sway and it's very nice.

It does indeed look sexy as hell. I've had to use it to defend myself numerous times and it does an excellent job.

Maybe because that's the caliber it uses.. and it adds another item that you have to search for? Say a building spawns only 4 items. Now the ammo for you gun has a less of a chance of spawning, because the game decides that it's going to spawn a can of soda, a box of pellets, a pair of pants and some 5.56x45. Now, if there is a bloated loot spawn with many different ammo types, and each gun requires it's real ammunition type instead of say generic 7.62 creates the chance that you may not find that ammo in great abundance, because there are many other different ammunition types that can spawn in its place. How is that hard to understand?

No, it's not a type of "advancement" it is a stupid gimmick. I should not need to find these magical parts to make my weapon use-able compared to other weapons. Remember the part where you said stock weapons should suck? Yeah, no. A bullet doesn't stop deviating because of some stupid weapon parts that ONLY affect handling. Go on, slap a CQB stock on there. Watch as the rounds deviate even further. It's called cone of fire, and it's a stupid mechanic. I've tested this on actual targets, zombies, players. Stationary and moving. The M4 deviates much more than any other gun in game. It's useless for any form of long range engagement because whenever I shoot, at a stationary target no less it feels like i'm playing a game of dice. Ironsight pointed center of mass, bullet misses, bullet misses, bullet hits. That doesn't make sense. But please, continue. I like the M4. I want them to fix it.
