So hotcakes, since the wall glitch in many buildings is just a glitch, it's okay and fair to use it? Is that not considered cheating? Exploiting? You gain an unfair advantage over others through illicit means. You're a derp hotcakes.

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion
Daemonkid replied to stielhandgranate's topic in General Discussion
I kill people all the time, still doesn't mean dispersion isn't a stupid fucking mechanic. Revolver is useless over 25 meters, it doesn't shoot straight anything passed that range, which is dumb. SKS has decent dispersion, but i've missed targets when pointed straight at their torso at 30 meters and the bullets veers to the left really wide and then I have to shoot again, and HOPE it doesn't miss wildly like that again, even though my gun is pointed right at his chest and we're only 30 meters away, well within the weapons effective range. You're telling me that's fine? That this is okay to simulate that we're not rifle experts? I'm sorry bullets go where the barrel is pointed, not veer off at a 40 degree angle out the barrel, then next shot the gun decides it's going to shoot straight. I'm also the kind of guy who likes to not waste any bullets in a fights, I do not shoot unless I am sure I can get the hit, even before pulling the trigger, I line up my shot, take into account target movement, compensate for travel time and likely point of impact. I should be rewarded with a hit, not have my shot veer off like it's sentient. There are 100x better ways to simulate this, sway ect. Skills should be priority we're not playing a dice rolling game. -

In regards to that, during WW1 & 2. You have young men being shipped off to fight a war. Many prior had not even held a firearm or even contemplated killing a man. On both sides of the war, they were basically kids, 18+ (With others lying about their age) these kids were no way prepared to fight a war. They thought maybe if they don't kill anyone, they won't be killed. That's just the way I see it. Also, put a mask or face covering on someone and watch how easily a man will kill another man as long as he never sees his face. That's an important aspect, seeing another face humanizes the target and makes you think twice, cover up the face, the target is viewed as less than human. -

Nice retort, you got slammed and this is the best you could think of to say back to him. Ahahahahahahahahahaha. You're awful bro. -

Actually most of those are shots are never meant to actually hit. Suppressive fire is taken into account there. Put as much lead down range so they can't poke their heads out to shoot back, execute a flanking maneuver to engage the enemy in a position where cover is not immediately available. It's also difficult to shoot accurately while under fire, with bullets cracking and whizzing over your head. There are much better ways to simulate this other than random dispersion. Bullets go where the gun is pointed there is very little deviation within the weapons effective range. -

Shhhh Katana. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Remember logic has no place here. -
Regular shot gun is not really worthwhile. Sawn off is a whole 'nother beast though. Thing is a deadly killer. People just have issues aiming with it. It's killed 1 hit everytime i've used it. But I guess that's just luck and the the pellets were all on point.

So how soon before the first DLC? And what effect will they have?
Daemonkid replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
Oh god now. That sounds really awful. Gouge out my own eyes kind of bad. On topic. The only thing I will EVER pay for as a DLC would be a new map, and that's if it's 5$ at the most. F this DLC fad. -
Experimental brings us hunting, do you want to know what this means?

Sorry, i've been hoarding all the 7.62x39. AKM takes em' so I want em all. -

The little things count in a game like DayZ. Steam lining gets us a shitty game. -

Oh my god. Couldn't have said it better myself. But doesn't matter, that doesn't make sense to any of the people who enjoy the gimmicky mechanics. -

I'm willing to let the zeds slide and all that because I believe that will be resolved eventually. This design decision irritates me because it just means more and more streamlining is to come. If they feel that ammo diversity is unimportant, what else are they willing to do that will just detract from the game. -

I'm sorry but what? That was a reply to YOUR childish statement. I even stated in prior posts I am voicing my concern over this terrible DESIGN DECISION. Any other reason listed for not doing it is illogical and is pure laziness. The streamlining of the game to cater to the brain dead like yourself frustrates many of us. -

What a fucking cop out. Like, lmao. Weapon calibers is like a 3 second thing to implement. It's easily coded. Then all you need is someone to render the ammo, which would not take long at all, and then the box itself and 2D art. It's not exactly rocket science and would be about half a days work, at the most. I also design maps and levels. Building a game is a team effort dawg, so don't give me that shit. Fucking cop out. -

See but that's the thing though. We need to show them the majority dislikes that design decision; we find it dumb, and it can only detract from the game. Compromises are nice and all if they decide they won't budge on the issue but if that is the case, they'll have lost a majority of supporters. It really feels like they're moving away from what DayZ was supposed to be. It feels less like the Road and more like your generic fps. -

Couldn't care less about their desire to be lazy. I don't really understand why they think streamlining the calibers is a good thing. More calibers = larger loot tables, larger loot tables means less chance of finding exactly what you're looking for and causes the player to search around more and navigate the map looking for that ammo type. Personally, the I believe the loot tables for everything should be huge and more bloated. There should also be more useless novelty loot that can be used for crafting should be implemented. Ah i'm just so annoyed by their design decisions. -

How about add both? And add the 74's proper caliber! -
Cept' Chenarus is technically the Country of Georgia.

Lots of good reasons for it to be implemented correctly. I want it for gameplay reasons not realism. More ammo types means less chance of finding your desired ammo type, which means I must move around the map more, scavenging and looking. Katana also created a great post about how to implement it properly. -

My god. You people have no ground to stand on so you exaggerate and say over the top things. Your stupid rant has nothing to do with ammunition calibers is totally unrelated and pretty fucking stupid comparison. -
I fucking love this gun. It's my favorite weapon in game right now. It's just so beastly. Recoil is really manageable, the dispersion is almost non-existent other than anything over 150 meters. It sounds really good, but the sound effect could be a bit beefier. The iron sights are really nice, very easy for target acquisition and it's always full auto. All in all the AKM was a really good addition to the game, easily beats the M4 in my honest opinion. (FIX THE M4! :P ) What are your thoughts about it?

Yes, we were promised an authentic, gritty zombie survival game. What part of magpul stock = +10 accuracy boost is authentic in the least? But continue making yourself look like a fool. Please, it's entertaining. -

They have everyone's money already. They need to stick to the vision of what DayZ was supposed to be, also it's obvious the game isn't a niche market anymore. You may be cool with the gimmicky systems they have now, but the majority of us are not, then you have the people who don't care either way. The people who don't care, their opinions don't really matter because "They don't care either way" they'll still continue to play the game. Then you have the people who want an easymode experience. Those people are a scourge. The game was never supposed to be easy, or accessible. It's supposed to be realistic to a point, gunplay is a big thing, and the current system is nothing like the combat from the mod. Fire-fights in the mod were dangerous exciting and fun and took skill to use the weapon correctly. Now, it's a dice roll everytime you fire a weapon, no skill or practice involved. Like I said they have everyone's money, no one is getting a refund. Stick to the fucking vision of what DayZ was supposed to be. Thus far, it really does seem like they're trying to cater to the lowest common denominator, and I don't see why. Make the game a fucking challenge. I want to actually have a difficult time in DayZ. Death should sting, it should be bitter it should incite emotions. When I die ingame I respawn and go back to what I was doing prior, albiet with less equipment. -
You just type it right after hitting the correct key combination. No prompt or anything just shift + - then type flush
