Why are freshspawns now referred to as "bambis"?
Daemonkid replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I call em' fresh spawns. Because that's what they are. -
We all know how easy it is to find food. So I am proposing this. Cans of food should almost always spawn open, half eaten or empty. This way, you have to make the choice: do I eat this? Or do I keep searching for those elusive sealed containers.

Really man? That's so low. Where is your sense of adventure? I got robbed, then punched and beaten by a group of 5 bandits, they didn't want to kill me, but they wanted to leave me for dead. After they leave me, i'm hurt badly and naked in the middle of nowhere. I know where the nearest town is, I know where several were actually. But I decided to go to the town I thought would be quiet. So, between random fainting spells. (I was reaaaaaaaally close to dying) I make it to town. I scout it from the tree line, it's quiet. I think to myself good, it's safe I can get some food, water and clothing. Going into town, I hit a small house, and just my luck, I find a revolver! And a pair of badly damaged pants. I tuck the revolver into my pocket and go about looking for food, maybe find an elusive Saline IV, or at least the components. I go through a few more house, careful not to alert the few zombies that are in town, that would surely be a death sentence. I find a nice green raincoat, food to sustain myself, which I mostly ate on the spot. The town was generous in supplies, and I wasn't the only one who was there any more. I had spotted him from inside a 2 story house, watching him dart from building to building, leaving the doors wide open, and probably wondering why the houses were empty. He was descending upon my position, and I called out to him. "Hey man, I got my gun trained on you, I don't want to shoot, but I don't know what your intentions are." I knew this could've gone either way, but he didn't know my location yet. He talks down the mic "I'm friendly man, don't shoot." While running to hide behind some cover that he thought would protect him. I call out again "Just drop the gun man, I can still see you. I would've killed you by now if I was going to kill you". He retorts "I just bet you don't have any ammo." He was calling my bluff. I quickly shoot back "Well, considering we are this far north, I obviously have ammo. Come on, drop the weapon, and I'll come out unarmed." He actually agrees. I come out, I tell him to leave his weapon on the ground for now, and we talk. We discuss a few things, I ask if he had a Saline IV, turns out he does and he's got a few extra so he doesn't mind sparing. He gives me the IV, and we talk, exchange some revolver ammo for a 5.56 box I had found. We part ways not long after on good terms. This would've never happened if I had combat logged like you did.

Lopatino!

So, I MIGHT have combat logged....and something very confusing...
Daemonkid replied to crazykage's topic in General Discussion
Kind of over the top there Delta. It wasn't a combat log. And Gews correctly summarized the situation that he went into his configure screen, and what he heard was the sound slider. Way to jump the gun there buddy. Edit- Your response as a mod actually kind of made me rage. -
3 of us died from a hacker last night
Daemonkid replied to DirtyscumbagLith's topic in General Discussion
Bro, it's a desync issue. I was with my buddies, I couldn't actually see them(Where they actually were) but his character that was on my screen, I ran up to him and punched him in the head, and knocked him out. He was with my other buddy about 100 meters away from where I was. So, there is that. -
Containers inside containers bug. It's really annoying. I was trying to play with my buddies tonight, but when we grouped up it got bad. I asked everyone to drop their containers. It steadied it out for like 30 mins, then it got bad again and the game was unplayable.

Pfft. As my duty to Chernarus: once writing is implemented I will stick a notice on each city sign with the English names.

Actually, speaking of that. I had a dude try to impersonate frankie. It was a pretty spot on impression. I shot him in the face. I don't like frankie.

" does not expect that DayZ will reach beta status before the end of 2014."
Daemonkid replied to vrsick's topic in General Discussion
Actually, yes. Since it is the internet, I can be a "pro" at any of those subjects. A simple Google(jesus, I can't believe auto correct forces me to capitalize that) search and I have almost unlimited knowledge at my finger tips. I may not know what any of it means, but I can sure as hell fake it like your girlfriend fakes her orgasms. -
I run the game at 10 frames sometimes. It's playable, but it sucks. Yes, i'm playing on a potato. But the game runs fine everywhere but the cities. And I ran the mod with much worse settings.

T3N RDS no good when crouching or proning

It's the assault vest. -
If you don't laugh at this, you are a bitter soul

If only he could holster the banana's in the chest holder. Then my life will be complete. -
For those saying no tank zombies. I'm sure Chernarus had a few burly and surly dudes. I'm talking beefed up dudes with layers of muscles. Which, if they were alive would be a tough son of a bitch to take in a fight. So naturally, they got infected. Now since they feel no pain, and have thick layers of muscles they would naturally be tougher zombies to take down, almost impossible in melee, but still one shot with a headshot, but requires a lot of bullets if shot anywhere else. That's the way I see it.

Am I naive in wanting to learn the map myself?
Daemonkid replied to General Desire's topic in New Player Discussion
Nothing quite like knowing the map like the back of your hand. Knowing every gulley, alleyway and the safe routes of approach. Knowing the possible locations for snipers, routes for quick and easy escapes in dangerous situations. Learning the hard way is the best way. You'll be a superior player because you don't need to use a crutch to navigate. It's glorious. -

" And despite its childishness and the fact noone else was around to even see it, I teabagged the bitch." That's so great. That is sososososo great. -
I hope something is done soon about the glitching..
Daemonkid replied to DeadTooRights's topic in New Player Discussion
I've never died on the ship.. but I have fallen through those god damn apartment building ladders one to many times. Ladders... even more dangerous than players! -
Really? Because i'm pretty sure "Don't shoot i'm friendly" is the universal dayz sign for i'm naive as fuck, end my life now. Always maintain the advantage. Never walk up to an armed dude shouting friendly. That's asking to get shot. If you want to be friendly sure. But be smart, and always have the advantage and if you can't, leave before something bad happens

Mix bleach with ammonia. BAM. Chemical warfare!

There will never. NEVER be NPC's other than zombies in DayZ SA. Rocket is highly against the idea. Stop asking about it, it will never happen. When mod-ability is available, you will see offshoots of DayZ that will possibly have NPC survivors and stuff.
-
It's not against the law... but it's kind of a requirement to play DayZ. Typing won't cut it, leaves you vulnerable. You got ear buds? Plug em into your mic port. Might need a little tweaking, but i've done it before when my mic was broken. It does work.
-
I wouldn't shoot on sight, if every person I've ever tried to hold up didn't fucking log out the second I get near them. It's pathetic. Most of the time, i'm not in it to kill you. I just want you to come back with me to my fresh spawn fight club. Winners receive loot. D:

Sometimes it's difficult to get that finishing punch on a knocked down player. A kick would allow us without struggling to kick a motherf*** in the head when he's down. Yes, I would like to see this implemented.
-
No. If anything it should be a KVSK for anti-material. Even then, a survivor would not have the know how to operate that weapon system, plus it's incredibly heavy weight and the ammo... It's just useless.

I suggest takin' it out and practice on some zombs or a wall at about 800meters. You'll get a feel for where the round lands and after a little bit of time, you'll be pulling off headshots like nobodies business.
