No, that's not the reason at all. We don't want a texture. We want whole new ammunition that fires from their correct weapon. This adds a whole nother layer to scavenging. Do you use this fancy new gun that you found even though the ammunition is a bit more scarce, or do you use the crappier weapon with more plentiful ammunition. Having streamlined calibers reduces the number of possible ammunition that can spawn, and if say only 5 types of ammo can spawn, and a building has 3 spawn points, you're guaranteed to find the ammo you're looking for with little trouble. This is a problem to me and many others. By stream lining calibers it tells us that they have not considered the gameplay implications of streamlining the calibers. Katana has made many good posts about it and has posted it more eloquently than I can. Streamlining calibers is bad for the game, not because realism though. That's where people need to stop with that bullshit, it isn't about realism, it's about gameplay.

Yeah, my bike is an 800$ish Norco. I ride her gently due to the fear that I may break her. Makes riding some of the better hills a pain since I can't really be careless. Norco isn't bad, but isn't the greatest. I like it though, it's not a bad bike.

I'll have you know! I play with a buddy I know IRL. I have several friends IRL that I know play DayZ, just only the guy I play with is on par with my skill level in the game. So I only play with him. Everyone else it's tough peanuts.

On the topic of "Soldering" if a member of the Military has seen combat or not, does not reduce their contribution or input into a discussion about weapons. I can pick up a pistol right now, having never fired one but I understand the concept of how to handle the weapon, the safety and the burden placed upon me. Yet, I am not as knowledgeable about it as someone who has actually used it. Just because someone hasn't seen "true" combat doesn't diminish their opinion about a firearm. They've been trained and operated one. Have you ever wielded a sword? I fence. Sword combat and fencing are 2 totally different subjects yet are grounded in the same reality. Fencing is more sport, but it is sword fighting; a more flamboyant version of sword fighting but the principal is the same. Parrying, deflection and thrusting when the opportunity presents itself. A man doesn't need to be in combat to talk about the merits of a weapon he was trained with and has experience with. Otherwise, our world would be fucked if someone is required to use their training and expertise ALWAYS through a baptism of fire. That's not how knowledge and experience works.

Tents (persistent storage) barricading, base building, vehicles/maintenance of said vehicles, farming forming community, improved zombies ect ect.

On topic: Happens to me too, anytime I switch servers on EXP because "Session lost" repeatedly (-_-) then I join a new one, crash. I've taken to just logging off, alt F4, restart DayZ. Kind of a hassle though.

The way I see it. Why cater to casuals at all? They already made triple what they expected to make. They already have our money, why cater to the lowest common denominator and instead stick to their guns and what makes DayZ. It's not like they need to sell more copies. Streamlining and dumbing down the game removes the core audience and all we'll have left is a once awesome game devolve into what WoW has become. A casual easymode shit fest. -Edit. I could be considered casual. I have 291 hours of DayZ played. But this is in large chunks of play time (4-5 hours at a time usually) But I don't want the game made easier, I want it harder. I want more varied cartridges, indepth medical simulation ect.

Hrm? More ammo is good for the game. I don't give a shit about people who don't know the difference between most ammunition types(I am one of them) but that said, it's pretty simple to add into the description of the weapon "Makrov- Chambered in 9mmM" Bam, people who don't know about the correct ammunition just got their hand held. More ammunition is good for the game. I do not like the streamlining of the game to cater to people who only can play for a little while. They are required to just put in a bit more work (And by that I mean say they can only play 1 hour a day, it may take longer than a person who plays more often, but these players can still find what their looking for eventually, even if it takes a few play throughs, and to me that gives a bit more value to their character) It's been discussed at great length already. More ammo types to the game is good. It means scavenging is important. because I will find LESS of the ammo I am looking for because more varied ammunition can take it's place in the spawn table, thus greatly reducing my chance of finding exactly what I am looking for, which is good.
