How much authenticity is too much?
Daemonkid replied to LaughingJack (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Need more combat realism, because that will go hand in hand with a good medical system. I want, no I NEED a good medical system. With suturing, pain management, all the good stuff. Dying should be a long drawn out affair. I want to claw my way from a near death experience back to a reasonable level of health. I want to fight for my life damnit! -
And they'll be on the test servers first. But regardless it's going live to test on the general populace to stress test it even further. Whether you like it or not. "Broken" or not, this respawning/more zombies isn't even a thing you should be complaining about. It's a good thing. As I said, right now, you have zero idea how it's going to play out. You're pre-emptively complaining. When it goes live and all manner of issues arise from it, you can complain about it then. Right now, it just isn't proper.
-
What part of "TESTING" do you not understand? We can't test more zombies if they don't add more zombies. Even when they add more zombies they're still such an insignificant threat as is it won't make a difference. But since they're "broken" to you, we shouldn't test the respawn, or how the server will handle the extra load of more zombies? You're just bitching about something that doesn't even matter.

How to zero in with mosin when bolting takes eye off target?
Daemonkid replied to Highlander007's topic in General Discussion
There is a suggestion forum. This is general. Wrong place guy. -
You're not providing feedback though. You're complaining about something that hasn't even been introduced yet. How; pray tell do we even test how the servers will do with more zombies, even with their bugginess (If you ever played the mod, these buggy zombies ARE FUCKING NOTHING)or the respawning mechanic if we don't bring it out to the general populace to consume and test. Bitch when there are more zombies when issues can be brought to light. Don't pre-emptively bitch. It does no good.

You're not doing yourself any favours either. -
That's why I play with me and 2 other friends. Most of the time it's just me and one other buddy. Reduces confusion, allows us to coordinate effectively, gives me a spotter, less people to share loot with. No side conversations in chat, and an extra pair of eyes I can trust. Random's suck, avoid playing with random's.

Arma 2 has aiming dead zone. The option is disabled in standalone, I can move the slider in the options, but it does nothing. But it's there. So, we could say it's already ingame.. just turned off. >_> -
I find it hilarious how many people bitch about these kind of things. If you played the mod from the beginning you had to deal with so many worse things. LOTS of shitty AI zombies, random death glitches, all those shenanigans. Complaining about it just makes you look like a bitch, over a video game. It's a video game, that's in a TESTING phase. Things need to be BROKEN to get FIXED. Stop your god damned whining and play. You entitled little shits.

Is Sniper too powerfull ? how did the mod handle this?
Daemonkid replied to Foolz's topic in New Player Discussion
AS50 was so fucking OP. If you got into trouble even at close range, it was spray and pray. And more emphasis on the spray, because it would almost always hit the target. I fucking walked into the school and gunned down a 5 man team with it back in the mod. It was fucking ridiculous. -
*Highlighted* What the fuck?

So I had a thought for base building. We all know rocket said adding more objects to the game world would decrease server performance. So, maybe we should take a page from Wasteland. With proper tools we should be able to remove objects from the world, say a fence. I use a hammer, and I dismantle a wooden fence. The fence is removed from the game world, and next to that fence spawn a board pile. The board pile has to be carried in your hands, and you walk slower. It can be loaded into vehicles and then taken out after where you want to build. You put the boards back on the ground, and you can use those boards as resource for building say, a single wall barricade. This way there is no extra objects in the world, because for every player built object, 1 was removed from the world. What do you guys think?
-
No, objects that already ingame, fences walls. That sort of thing. Say a small wooden picket fence by a house. I remove that fence, it spawns an object that acts as a resource. I then move that board pile to where I want to build a small wall, from there 1 object is removed from the world, and another is created in its place, and in this scenario that fence was removed so I could build a small wall. It's remove 1 object, create another in it's place, so that there are never more objects in the world.

The engine can. Have you ever played Arma 2 Wasteland? I'm thinking something along the lines of that system but improved and refined.

Is Spy Infiltration wrong ethics/cheating
Daemonkid replied to Dragor69's topic in General Discussion
Not impossible to stop it. Just make it a server option. If you have teamspeak running, you're unable to join the server that has the option turned on. Or someone could design a mod like ACRE to do the job. Teamspeak is akin to cheating, it's just straight unfair. I use it socialize mostly when I run with my buddy but in a firefight it's just so unfair. I admit to using it, but I don't like it. I only use it because my friend likes to talk a lot. When we had radio's I actually convinced him to use em' and we enjoyed it a lot more. (Even though ingame coms are shit atm, fix them please) Because when we were shooting the shit, there was a chance someone would hear us which was exciting. -
Shot my buddy in the chest today, we both carry The New Testament in our vests. ( We like to recite verses to random fresh spawns) He took some damage and didn't bleed, but the bible was ruined.. So there is something going on.. And I like it.

Nothing you can do about it but use the work arounds. Like you said, monday it will be fixed, until then either use the information people have provided to prevent the lag.

I posted why people are getting this issue. Lots of people are. It's a graphical issue due to bugged textures. IF YOU HAVE ANY ITEMS WITH ODD OR FLICKERING TEXTURES THEY ARE THE CAUSE. Get rid of them, run away from them, and watch as your FPS restores itself magically. I played for over 3 hours today and my game only crashed at the end of my play session because I got close to some dude sporting the fucked gear.

New Zealand Beret, respirator, green check shirt, olive assault vest, grey cargo's, blue combat boots, hunter's packpack. If I could find a damn machete I would be set. I lost my favourite black hat with the gun logo on it after the patch, till I find it again, the beret will have to do. I kind of have a PMC look goin' on.
-
Doesn't it have something to do with the range at which the bullet impacted him? I know i've one shot people with the magnum at about 15 meters, but a dude who was trying to axe me at about 5 meters took 3 to the chest and kept on trucking.

Military Gear lootspawns need immense reductions
Daemonkid replied to Baklavah's topic in Suggestions
We need more soft military installations. Barricades, quarantine zones, checkpoints. That sort of deal, and they should have a high chance of spawning damaged or ruined weapons. Just so we can say "HURR DUUR WELL DA MILTARY WAZ HURR, SO DAR IS LOTZ OF GEWD GUNZ." but those guns are near useless. It would force players to shuffle around the map at all different kinds of military bases just to find that elusive working weapon. -
It's not your systems. It's been posted a 1000 times already. The textures of certain pre-patch gear are fucked. They're causing memory leaks. Flickering and odd textures, usually on the M4. But any item seems to has chance of having these fucked textures. Drop your gear and run away from it, if performance is good after being away from it, your gear is causing the issue.
-
It's not the rain. There is a memory leak due to odd textures on weapons and magazines. Also, if you're carrying pre-patch gear drop it and run away from it. If performance improves it's your old gear. To ID the stuff that causes the issue, look for odd or flickering textures. What I have read to be common is M4 parts attachments and magazines are one of the big culprits.

Remove Spawn Timer when joining same server.
Daemonkid replied to Sir Schmoopy's topic in General Discussion
People seriously die on the boat randomly? Hasn't happened to me once, then again, I don't sprint through the thing full tilt.
