  1. Uhm that's very faulty logic right there. Because people are getting killed in a game with PvP is going to prevent future sales? I really love your giant logical leaps. No one in who gets killed is gonna be "Welp dis gayme suxs tyme to tell evry1 dat it suxs n nawt to bai eet." Like really?

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

The SA isn't supposed to be a radically different version of the mod. It's supposed to be like the mod because well, the mod is the whole fucking reason we have the SA right now.(HELL we were not even supposed to get a full retail game, just a repackaged DayZ mod that didn't require you to purchase Arma 2/OA.) It's an extension of the mod, just because it's still there doesn't mean the SA is supposed to be different and break away from it, the mod is what made DayZ. To try and differentiate the mod from the SA is wrong the original vanilla mod IS DayZ. To just outright ignore its influence on the SA would be sacrilege, and you don't get that, you want this game to be easy. You really do, it shines out of every orifice and post you make. Deny all you like. your words betray you.

Yet, you can make a statement about 75 people voting yes on the poll? My god, you have absolutely no leg to stand on. It's hilarious really. Like Gib said, flat out and say it. That's what you want isn't it? Easier gear to get so you can PvP. Streamlining ammo has nothing to do with adding more weapons. Add more weapons, make them have their proper caliber how does that not increase gun variety? Oh right, because they can't grab a gun, find the streamlined ammo and run to the nearest AF to PvP. Oh right, I forgot, scavenging impedes a players ability to PvP. I totally forgot. Cerveau putain imbécile morts!

From one of the DayZ standalone facebook pages(Like 18k people). I can gleam that most players are just noobs, not "casuals" as this argument seems to be on about. They're just not used to the game and don't understand all the mechanics yet. That is all, they just need to learn.

Totally fucking helpless? What are you, dumb? What the fuck were you doing out on the street in the first place? Second, even if he has spotted you, what the actual fuck is preventing you from zigzaging from house to house avoiding him and trying to break LoS. After you break LoS you seek to get away from him. Just because you couldn't find any ammo doesn't mean you're fucking helpless. Or using a melee weapon and ambushing him if you so get the chance. There is multiple ways to kill players in DayZ besides a firearm. Also, QQ more. You're not in the majority about this. Stop acting like you're an ambassador for the "Silent majority" you don't know what they want, maybe they want realistic calibers? Maybe they don't? You act like you're their voice, when you damn well don't have a clue what the fuck they want. Also, don't give me that shit that making the game easier is going to increase sales. It's not, if anything it will severely impact long term sales.

Except they don't really fill the same role. The blaze at this point in time is pretty much a gun you pick up if you can't find anything else, since the ammunition is the same as the Mosin, and 7.62 is quite plentiful. Most people will ditch the Blaze for the Mosin since the Mosin is superior in almost every respect. But now, say the added in 54R, and gave the blaze it's correct ammunition type, you create situations that dictate necessity, you have more blaze ammo, but the mosin is better, yet you have less Mosin ammo than the blaze. While the blaze may only have 2 shots, you have ammo to spare incase you miss a shot, while with the Mosin you have less and mistakes are less forgiving. Ya' know what I mean?

And they made their fucking profit. By a long shot of what they were expecting. Making the game harder doesn't decrease profit, like wise making the game easier won't increase profit. People will buy the game based upon it's promises and merits and so far it has only delivered on a few of them. Explain to me, why are you so vehemently against varied ammo? Is it because you want to be able to log in, grab a gun and ammo, run to the coast and PvP? Because that's how it seem to be where you're making your stand. Don't give me the "Hurr duurr no one is a gun XPERT and know all da ammo evur" it's as simple as "Mosin Nagant- Chambered in 7.62x54R. Add in 7.62x54R now a whole new caliber is added to the spawns. Dem "casuals" sure are gonna have a fit because... because why exactly?

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

Sorry, this isn't a subscription based MMO. They don't have to cater to anyone. "Casuals" or "Hardcore" players. What they need to do is stick to the vision and deliver the game we were promised, not this cater to the lowest common denominator shit. You buy this game once, they already have the casuals money, they also already have the hardcore's money. You make the game harder and people don't like it? Guess what, they already have the cash. I didn't buy this game on promises that it would be easy and non-complex. I bought it based on the promises that rocket would stick to the vision of what DayZ was in essence. They shouldn't be catering to any group of player. They should be catering to what DayZ is supposed to be.

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

And you're a part of the problem. Would you still play if the game was harder, more challenging and unforgiving? I know a hell of a lot of casuals who would continue to play, they want the game to be harder, more complex. I use the term casual in the sense that player may only play 1 hour a day, over the course of a few days. I'm casual in that sense too, I just consolidate my play time into 1 solid chunk. We play the same amount of hours in a week, his is just more spread out, mine is consolidated. Also, I find it funny how you basically act like you speak for the "silent majority" the silent majority will play even if the game is easymode, or if the game is insanely hard. So, why the fuck don't we actually get what we were promised instead of trying to make the game more accessible and easy? All that does is turn the original fanbase away from the game.

    Question for the military guys

I'm pretty sure it's a vastly different situation in real life. Of course you're going to have the guys who get hard in a combat situation, but they are not the norm. There is a threat, you have your job to do. Quite simply I think. Someone is trying to harm you and your mates, or an innocent person training takes over and you "Do what you had to do".

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

*GASP* I want both! Like I said, a game like DayZ the little things matter. I brought up the mod because guess what, we're the ones who fucking popularized the game. I told my friends about it, they told their friends about it. Next thing you know the game is incredibly popular. The game that was a huge niche, even though it was incredibly difficult for people to get into, people kept at it and enjoyed themselves. Then they told their friends about it and so on and so forth. A lot of people were waiting on the SA to release before they got into DayZ, then you add to the fact that people have been looking for a zombie SURVIVAL game explains why it took off the way it did. Then you have the new blood, the people who have only heard about and played the standalone. These people have no idea what DayZ was about. The game us mod veterans were promised, and why we supported the team like we have. We don't want them shooting themselves in the foot. Casuals come and go, but the fans stay to the end. If you want your true fans to stick around and not be disillusioned is to keep the promises that were made and not make concessions to a group of players who quite franky couldn't give a damn either way.

You already tried that shit with me and I shut you up. Add different fishing rods, for fly fishing, for river fishing, for open sea fishing, trolling rods, correct bait required to catch specific fish. Hell, even add different quality rods that increase ones chances of catching a type of fish, or less chance of snapping the line, or damaging the rod.

Because ammo, food and drink are all server side spawns. Loot economy is a way of limiting the spawns of select items across ALL servers. Ammo food and drink will still be controlled directly from the server it's on. The game can't say well, only spawn 1000 9mm ammo across all servers. It won't work and it's not an effective way to handle that(That's an incredible processing load.) Instead, like it has been posted, it will handle say, only 100 NVG's can possibly spawn across all the servers. Or only 1000 AKM's can spawn across all servers. Handling any of the smaller items would not be feasible.

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

Loot economy isn't going to handle things such as ammunition, food or drink. The loot economy is handling specific items that can possibly spawn across ALL servers.

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

No. You are in the minority. I'm going to ask, did you play the mod? Because that makes a huge difference in the validity of your opinion. The answer is more than likely no and i'm going out on a limb and saying that. People don't FUCKING WANT REALISTIC CALIBERS FOR REALISM REASONS. THIS HAS BEEN STATED MANY TIMES. YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS. THIS IS A GAMEPLAY/LOOT DISCUSSION AND THE RAMIFICATIONS OF STREAMLINING THAT SHIT. Caps for emphasis. Streamlining calibers is bad for the game, people like you who want don't want the game to be difficult annoy the shit out of many people on this forum, because that was never what DayZ was supposed to be about. We were supposed to get a challenging, unforgiving and authentic world. One where you can feel immersed. Little things such as this count in a game like DayZ. Have you ever heard of roguelike? Have you ever played one? Have you ever played Dwarf-fortress. The complexity of that game would blow your face off, yet the game has a huge cult following because the devs (2 GUYS) care so much about their project. They don't streamline anything or make things easier for new players. The term LOSING IS FUN originates from that game. It's what makes it fun, getting your ass kicked 2 days from sunday, yet you go back in for more, because you actually strive to be successful. Now this whole topic about ammunition is not about REALISM, like you ignorant's think it is, whenever others and myself have stated as such, you ALWAYS revert to the REALISM argument. I don't care if they add fucking fictional calibers and fictional guns. As long as the fictional calibers go into their correct fictional weapon, and those fictional calibers bloat the lootspawns so instead of always finding what i'm looking for with 0 trouble involved, basically guaranteeing the next mil spawn I check is going to have ammo I will need. It's not hard at all to find the ammo you're looking for in the game right now. Because there simply isn't enough different ammunition to bloat the loot tables with.
  18. Daemonkid

Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion

No, you don't seem to understand what he means. If there is only 5 calibers in the game, only those 5 calibers can spawn, and if each mil spawn has say 6 spawn points, all 5 of those calibers can spawn within those 6 points, 1 type of each caliber. Now say we have 10 calibers, and only 6 spawn points, that leaves 4 calibers out of the spawn equation. Thus decreasing the likelihood of finding the caliber you are looking for. Also loot economy isn't going to work they way you think it does. It's going to be used to control loot across ALL servers, so talking high end stuff such as NVG's or say a rare high powered sniper rifle. Ammo is not going to be effected by the economy.
  19. It's going to be fixed when you stop being an awful fucking troll. Actually you know what, i'll risk the warning points. You're a piece of shit who made a new forum account to troll, because you don't want your other genuine account getting banned, because you're a little bitch. Quite simple, nut up or shut up you fucking scrub.

I never played a Steam game before this one

No, I don't think you understand. People jumped on the bandwagon because it was a zombie game, not zombie survival, nor survival sim, or PvP death match, or whatever. They bought it because it has zombies, because it was a zombie game with no other information than that for most people, they bought it, because that's how zombie games work in this day and age, put zombies in a game it'll sell.

DayZ always crashes when I leave a server

It's just an issue when you close the game(Crashes)join a new sever after being kicked from one (Crashes)(happens a lot on EXP) Leave a server, it crashes when you join a new one. No idea why, but it is most definitely not overheating. I have AC, and my desk is right next to the window, i'm actually in a sweater it's so cold in here.
