im not sure upcoming features are "positive" to the game
Daemonkid replied to bioned's topic in General Discussion
It's because, well. We are. Sorry to burst your bubble. On-topic: More authentic survival elements are welcomed greatly by me. Now, get on to makin' just about everything a bit more indepth and less arcadey. -
One provides a better sight picture. One is larger than the other.

I don't know, the Forest looks pretty damn interesting.

Sadly, the attachment system is more than likely going to stay the way it is. They won't get around to changing it, because well, I don't think they really care all that much about the simulation aspects anymore, but just catering to the lowest common denominator. Quite a shame really.

Nah, sawn off isn't inaccurate, i've dropped zombies and players from 15-20 meters easily. It's just hard to get used to aiming down the sights, since it looks like you should be aiming high, when in reality, your gun should be a bit lower. The gun is piss poorin CQB though, i've shot people point blank and they just go "lolwat."

I'll draw a map. Let me break out MS paint. Edit: I failed.

Wich vehicles do you want to see in the SA?
Daemonkid replied to Ep1cNiki's topic in General Discussion
Wholeheartedly agree with this. More sim, less arcade. -
God damnit. You never contribute anything to the discussion Accolyte, if it works for you there must not be an issue going on! Even though it's been reported quite a few times, and by reputable forum goers. -_-

It's easy to sight the sawn off. Really easy. Before you saw it off, pull it out, and aim in. Get a general feel of it with the long version, now, go into shouldered mode, where you have the dot. Look at the dot, and see where it is in relation to the gun. Saw it off, and shoulder the sawn off, you'll see how much was removed. Find the dot, aim at your desired target with the dot center of mass. Then aim in, once aimed in, you'll get a feel for where the shotgun is in relation to that dot. Since you no longer have any sights, and the gun is quite small now. But, that dot is very important in getting a general feel of where the gun is aimed at, because sometimes the gun doesn't even look like it's pointed at the target. But i've had times when rounds fired at close range did not register as hits. Just kind of went through them, doing minimal damage. Had it happen with the magnum at 5m and the shot at the same range. I'm guessing it's a velocity issue at such close ranges. Def needs to be looked at.

1500m in Arma 3. Through a concrete building. Was using the .50 cal. That was so satisfying. Like amg.

Ppppffffffffffffft. I've landed that AN just about anywhere. Thing is a god damn beast, doesn't need much runway to get off the ground. I've refueled so many heli's there manually. Fuckin' chopper spawn by there.

AK74U plox. Don't care about the distinction between Carbine or SMG. Do want now. Like now, now. It's mah baby. I would drop anything for that gun.

Yay! For not ever having to experience motion sickness! Hurrah! Hurrah!

I only shoot Quebecers on sight. I join their servers, and anyone not speaking English when I talk to them get's a shot to the knee. Fuckin' Quebecers.

Well, uhm. I'm kind of for it, and kind of against it. I remember I was playing breaking point and I was running through a forest, checking my surroundings and everything. I ran up, and all I hear is the sound of a melee attack burying into my skull. I was killed by a invisible player with a hatchet to my face. Would've been nice to know who killed me so I could've reported the hackin' SoB. But, yes it's gamey, but maybe make it a tog-gable thing that shows up in the bottom corner if you choose to have it on. All it should do is just say "Killed by XXX" and just for you.

Fellow bandits: Ever done anything you ever actually felt bad about?
Daemonkid replied to Weedz's topic in General Discussion
Met a player when I first started playing the stand alone. We were at the Balota apartments, he was friendly. He didn't seem to have a mic, so we duck into a building for safety and I try to engage him in conversation, I dislike typing as it makes me vulnerable, so he said he was going to get his mic working. A couple of "1 sec" and a few mins pass. I get agitated and paranoid. (I had nice stuff) I pop him in the head with my FNX. I tell him over voice chat that I am sorry but his actions and how long I had to wait for him made me feel like it was some sort of TS trap. It was honestly the only time I ever felt bad. I thought to myself after that maybe I had just turned a player off to the game, then I remember that well, it could've been a trap and I would no longer have my stuff If I didn't do what needed to be done. The ONLY time I have ever felt bad about doing something in DayZ. -
You have a point Ninja. But it won't happen, I liked the tactical side of DayZ, but I also want a more survivalists kind of DayZ. I'm all for a deep weapon maintenance system to really make having a gun a prize. DayZ needs to really get it's identity straight. I like guns, but I also want cool weapons that require effort to maintain and use but finding what gun you want shouldn't be the endgame. More guns with a deeper maintenance system and a stronger focus on a survivors mentality. On topic, M14 Plox.

payday 2 M4 and weapons compared to dayz
Daemonkid replied to gannon46's topic in General Discussion
Dude. You're trying waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard again, you might have an aneurysm. -
Only reason the DMR was "controversial" was its fire rate was crazy. Point-spam click-dead. But I didn't mind it. It was loud as fuckin' hell, quite cumbersome in CQC(But still effective) and the fact that it wasn't rare.. at all. I've found more M14 DMR's in the mod than I found M14's with red dots, which is a little odd if you ask me. But yes, M14 please, such a great weapon.

Can you tell the direction which fire is coming from?
Daemonkid replied to Sebidee's topic in General Discussion
Seriously? Expensive headsets? You don't need that shit. Go to sound ingame, soundsources or w/e is there. Turn that up to max. (Sounds are still wonky atm so really, a headset makes no difference) And if you're getting SHOT AT, you can tell the direction of the shooter based on the bullet impact. If the bullet hits the ground, it will kick dust up in a way the ID's the direction, you get shot at from you left, bullet will impact to the right of you, and dust will kick up at impact point scatter right. -
