Clothing Durability & On ground models.

I love the idea, but it seems like it would be a bit much. Finding "new" clothing in a market, or a house, and then wearing them for a few hours causing them to look used and dirty is one thing. But having them "infected" is something that I think is a good idea, but needs to be simplified. For example, I don't want to be scavenging a house and then come across some battle gear but then have to worry about it being infected and have to go looking around the house for some fucking Tide washing detergent to clean them. In other words I don't want to find clothes and then have to worry about contracting clothing herpes from it. And realistically speaking would clothing that has a bacteria on it really infect you over your skin? It's a toss up. You want it to be simple, but yet complex enough to grip you. So maybe if the clothing was "infected" then you would have to watch if you're injured or not, for instance if you are not bleeding and you put on an infected article of clothing then nothing happens. But if you're bleeding out and put on an infected article of clothing then you put your character at risk for infection. I don't know, that's just my two cents.

    Logout Timer

I like it because it stops people from throwing a bitch fit and pussying out. But I think it needs to be a tad shorter.
  3. That's very true. And add that to the "realistic" atmosphere that DayZ gives off. And the massive map, it can consume hours of your time before you even know it. The WarZ never captured that simulation of "reality" it always seemed too arcade-ish. With DayZ, when you're going through the forest, you feel like you're lost in the forest. When you stumble across a trail, or a river, or an old dirt road, you feel a sense of relief. When you're going through a town, or a city, you get that eery feeling that something is watching you. Just the atmospheric feeling that DayZ gives, ontop of the graphical edge, and "realistic" animations, there is no way in hell you could ever compare DayZ, and The WarZ. I'm fucking pumped for the standalone.
  4. BOOM. There, this thread needs to end on this. I couldn't have said it better myself.
  5. Understand too that the Standalone is just a couple months around the corner. (Provided it doesn't get pushed again). Have you been reading the Dev Diaries? and Dev updates on the standalone? They have changed a lot of stuff, mechanically and cosmetically. You can't label the game as "dead" because you got griefed, that's always going to happen.
  6. Lol DayZ is FAR from dead. I think with anticipation of the Standalone, the mod may have slowed down. But watch when the standalone releases. DayZ is going to be one of the most played "Multiplayer" games on PC. I made the switch to WarZ back when their forums started (Before the drama), and there was a surprising amount of players that didn't even know DayZ existed. But after shit hit the fan with WarZ there was A LOT of people looking into DayZ. So expect there to be a huge wave of new players pop up in April.

How do tell who is a bandit?

Typically, from my experience. As soon as another player see's someone they automatically think "I want his stuff". And they KoS (Kill on Sight). I'm guilty of it, and it's happened to me plenty of times. Best advice, don't go running out in the open, stick to cover, stick to forest, stay behind buildings. Scout and clear every area, watch your corners, and stay in 3rd person view as much as you can.

    just want to download dayz

DayZ is not on Steam (Yet). You can buy Arma II/OA on Steam, install DayZ mod, and then LAUNCH DayZ from steam. But You can not buy it from the Steam store as of yet.
  9. That's funny because I went to The WarZ, because of hackers. ...But ultimately DayZ is better in every area regardless of the hackers.
