I play on a very standard Vanilla server. The only thing that is different are some customized wrecks and the vehicles spawns aren't all standard for someone to just look up and camp before a restart.

If either of you play Chernarus and would like a really nice community / server to play on hacker-free.. talk to me sometime.

I'm a 21 year old looking to setup a squad on 1 of 2 possible servers, either DayZ Unleashed or UK#10 Zombie World. I am down for either being Hero / Bandit or a mix of the two, but I am starting to get bored of being a lone wolf. Would love to group up with a few players like me to get to know them and survive with! I haven't setup steam or a skype account.. so if you are interested, then reply on this thread and we can go from there. I am leaning more towards using Teamspeak or in-game communication. I am also gearing towards specific codenames for our members that follow a lot of Spec Ops codes from COD: Scarecrow, Ghost, Frost, Tank, etc. It will be cool to give ourselves some uniqueness. :)

What are the details of your private server?

I am interested in learning / using actual military techniques and having specific goals / tasks together. I apologize, I am on my phone at the moment, so my app to request more info isn't formal.. IGN: Prophet I have played DayZ since October, 2012. I do have a mic; however, I do not have IRL military experience. I am 21 years old and have a career.

Well, the best way to learn the game and get fluent with the controls.. is to.. Play! Become familiar with your surroundings, the types of buildings you can and can't enter, items, gear, etc. The DayZ wiki is a great place to start; however, it isn't really up-to-date yet. It is perfect for the beginner. Your overall goal is to survive! Whether that is helping other people out in the process, killing zombies, or killing Bandits (bad players who kill innocent players). There are official / unofficial servers, public / private, whitelisted, etc. A public server running the same version of game, will share data amongst others. Any other servers will require a brand new player.

I vote no for consoles personally. This is a PC relic that allows the game to be very flexible through regular updates.

I have yet to see this one as well. I prefer the offroad one personally :) Let the search begin!

Hello Rookie, I am currently looking to start a squad on the private server I am currently on. It is whitelisted without hackers, but I haven't received anyone who is interested in joining the server with me. I am an avid Walking Dead fan, (girlfriend and ours favorite show) so I am highly interested in bringing that into this game. It is something that I have always had on my mind since playing this mod. I have a few camps already and would love to help you out immediately on our server, so please message me back and we can coordinate. This goes for anyone else that is willing to join as well. Bandits, please don't bother - I like to think I have decent aim =D

This is a hard question. Maybe color coordinate hats or clothes so that Hero skins aren't as similar to a regular skin? From what we already have, I lower my weapon and use the mic. It is the best chance I have seen so far to declare your intentions. If you are being attacked by a player who has it in his mind that you are his next mark.. your best chance is to draw your gun faster and hope you don't miss. :P Maybe they should add specific emotes, like lowering your weapon or kneeling, etc. to show friendly submission?

My username refers to the server I am currently on; however, Prophet is a straightforward name I have began using for a squad I am hoping to one day form! Each squad member chooses a good name, much like Spec Ops / Air Force pilots choose their codenames. Maverick, Frost, Gauntlet, etc.

If you find yourself on a server that has prominent hackings, then go apply and join a private whitelisted server. Most of them have the tools to combat hacks and completely prevent them. Most are modded, but there are also a select few that remain vanilla (non-modded) as the developers intended. DO NOT POST ignorant threads on the forums whining like some child about the following: Hackers are taking over the game Zombies are over-powered now I can't seem to stay in my vehicle cause of mean Zed The game is unfair now I can't trust anyone I lost all my stuff due to all the above I apologize for being so rash, but after seeing so many WarZ players whine about how things aren't going their way.. something needs to be said to the new guys coming in. This mod is excellent. Remember.. it is still in Alpha. I challenge you to find a game out there, past or present that is this entertaining and detailed while still in it's alpha stage. The bugs may be there, but most of them always end up funny as hell anyways. 1. Your best option to avoid hackers is to join an official private whitelisted server. They have the tools you need to play on a good server / community, without ruining your experience to children. 2. Items respawn after 10 minutes. 3. Yes, the amount and types differ between servers. Our server has 6 I think and is vanilla. (Non-modded, private, whitelisted) 4. Not yet. Most use Steam or Skype / Teamspeak or join a private server that has a website. After I realized my camp will most likely never be found or raided by another player, and killing 5 veteran players within 30 minutes. I know exactly what you mean. You will come to a moment while playing this game.. that you are no longer the bambi that you just shot in the face in Kamenka.
