Well that's wrong. They've already said many times that it will follow the Minecraft release model. Release in Alpha/Beta at discounted prices, so it won't take a year, hell I'd be fine buying it right now (I bought Minecraft in Alpha for about four quid, and look at it now).

The context menu wasn't open, and there was no way I could have been ejected normally. After that happened I disputed his claim that he was an admin (the main splash screen states only two admins 'Liam and Friendly') He said "want proof?", after that my character did a handstand. A few moments later my leg was broken, and another minute after that I was killed with the words "HA HA HA HA HA" appearing on my screen. I have no doubt that it was this admin that hacked, as I'm pretty damn sure those are not Admin tools. The server is also rife with hackers, childish and abusive admins, and general idiocy. Avoid at all costs, fellow forumers!

DayZ, the Standalone included, would be nothing without Banditry. It's an integral part of the game, and one that adds so much more than any amount of zombies, improved or not, add to the game. Without PVP, there is no DayZ. It would just be "shooting-zombies-the-game".

Cheated. Complains about ban. Brings up 'the law'. Yeah, standard hacking-attempt-gone-wrong here, folks, nothing to see! Also, why is it only ever people with under ten posts and no avatar that make these complaints? Sure, you could just say that they're here because they've been banned. But why have I never seen a regular here (+200 posts, full profile) posting a 'banned-please-help-pl0x' post? Because 'accidental' Global Bans simply don't happen.

This and this. Really, use your imagination, it may hurt at first but you'll get used it. You may even find it more rewarding than grinding to X to get SUPERPOWERSOFEPICPROPORTIONS(4URPENIS).

They have the same drop rate as Coyate, which is miniscule. It's a rare item. Something that is 'easy to find' should take no more than five minutes. Good luck finding a CBackpack in under four hours with loot spawn recycling. EDIT: @OP The easiest way to grab one of those packs is to downgrade to 1.7.4 and get one from a supermarket.

ManinTheWall. The same one from Battlelog? Anyway. It's pretty accurate. If you're chopper hunting the best places to check are Devils Castle, that island to the southern area of the map, and the two airfields. I've found plenty of Helicopters in these locations, and a few planes too. If they're not there, chances are someone has found them and they're stashed around the map somewhere.

NASA supercomputers couldn't run DayZ on High.

Loot spawning is fine. I've found several rare weapons since the update. You have to recycle the hatchets, they don't seem to despawn and they take up the spawn location (like crowbars). If you see a crowbar or hatchet, pick it up and drop it somewhere else, that opens up the spawn again.

Backpack slots simply mean how many backpacks you can store in a vehicle. The same goes for both items and weapons, items also don't take up multiple slots (a wheel usually takes 6 slots, but only one when placed in a car). eg. BP slots: 2 Item slots: 50 Weapon slots: 10 Could be wrong here, bugger knows, think it's right.

The only thing that should be different between heroes and bandits is the skin. All too often in gaming over the past few years players have been shoehorned to acting a certain way to get rewards. This is a shitty problem in my eyes, the good thing about DayZ is that you can do whatever the hell you want, and still have access to the game, whether you're being 'good' or 'evil'. That's what I'm liking about the SA so far, too. Clothing isn't decided on a boring and overused paragon meter, and so the stigma is being removed, making for a much more interesting game. No more meters, no more shoehorning, thanks.

Wow. What a complete waste of time.

The only map included with DayZ is Chern, as that is the Vanilla DayZ map. You'll have to download the other maps in order to play on them, and some are very good and add a little diversity to DayZ after you've been playing Chern for a while. The easiest way to download and install these extra maps is through DayZ Commander (in fact, everything is just a million times easier with DayZ Commander, get rid of PlaywithSix immediately and get Commander). http://www.dayzcommander.com/ Go there, get Commander, and enjoy a much smoother DayZ experience.

Pity about the God-awful item capacity. I could fit more items in a Mini Cooper.
