Reading a little about IP's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intellectual_property What I believe that other people are talking about is, if you make a MOD in Arma....is that then your intellectual property? I wasn't trying to talk out of my ass Rocket. But the way it was explained to me at one point was, the modding tools are released by Arma...so anything you make with those tools is owned by Bohemia. But I know that you work for BI....so yes no one knows what you own and what you don't own. So I apologize for talking out of my ass in the other thread. That being said, yes, EULA's and IP's have nothing to do with this. You had a gentlemen's agreement with this guy...he broke that agreement...you pulled the plug... Then members of the community called you a tyrant....accused you of killing the mod....said "You can't do that....I didn't sign a EULA...I didn't do this or that...so you can't stop me from running the SP on my server...." And now we're here. Hopefully that catches some people up to the shit going down here. -

I never said I was a fucking lawyer. I was responding to tantrum boy because he closed down another thread in which I agreed with someone else saying they never signed a EULA. I didn't say it had jack nor shit to do with Rocket at all. I just made the simple fucking statement "I never signed a EULA." Fuck beans. I never said I was fucking Matlock or Perry Mason....I just made a blanket fucking statement responding to someone else in a thread...and Rocket blew a fucking gasket about it. As usual. Also I support the shit out of this mod. Always have. Not trying to start a fight, was just responding to the OP in this thread talking about legal issues. I made a simple statement that wasn't against Rocket at all in that thread...and was addressing it in this thread. -

All I know is I never signed a EULA, which is what I said in another post. And I didn't. That being said, I never played the single player game, nor had any interest in it. This is best played with people. -
Rocket you are killing this mod
WildGunsTomcat replied to calranthe's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Though Vipeax, I've gotta agree with this. No one here signed a EULA. This is a MOD of Arma 2. The code isn't proprietary....Rocket has no license to his code. People can take this mod and reverse engineer it all day if they want to and there isn't a damn thing that anyone can do about it. Of course Rocket can request that someone not use it, but he is legally incapable of telling anyone what they can and cannot do with it. That being said, maybe Rocket should look into some type of EULA. -

I would also like to point out to OP that this is a mod right now...yes. But soon it will not be. Soon it will be a stand alone game, if we are to believe all the news coming out of E3. You are a weapons-grade retard OP. -
Wow, nice mods, deleted thread no feedback.

So 74 assholes want to cry because he doesn't want this game to be single player? Good riddance. -
What's the point in trying?

Global chat should not have been disabled in the Alpha
WildGunsTomcat replied to jsteph87@live.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nothing to "get over". I'm pointing out that without the global chat there is no way to commuicate in game about server wide problems. Which is both illogical and frustrating. Way to add to a discussion' date=' by the way. [/quote'] Get on their teamspeak/vent/mumble. Fixed. -

Dear rocket, f**k humanity. Focus on Morality.
WildGunsTomcat replied to Goldstein (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
He offered a simple alternative to changing the game to a more casual-friendly game since adding morality and even the humanity meter is pretty unrealistic. You then stooped to an ad hominem attack since your nipple got twisted at his correct, albeit harsh alternative. There IS a way to make teamwork more viable, it's just that every suggestion has had glaring holes in it. The beauty of this being an alpha is that stuff can be changed, modified, added and removed. No, he insinuated that if OP doesn't like something...perhaps this isn't the game for him. So basically he's saying that we should just shut up and like it and not give suggestions. He's a weapons grade retard. OP's ad hom attack is spot on. -

I used it as an example. And I'm not saying EVERYONE gets PTSD...I'm saying that most people...to kill someone it does keep them up at night. I know certainly if I offed 600 people I would have a hard time sleeping at night. I mean, not everyone is the same yes. That's why I'm saying it would be interesting to see how the mechanic would play out in a video game. -

WildGunsTomcat replied to Goldstein (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Most NORMAL people have problems after taking a life. I have a buddy that served with the 101st in Iraq...he killed 20 guys at least. He has PTSD badly...bursts into tears randomly....is on seven different medications.... Sure, psychopaths love to kill....they don't feel empathy for those they do kill. For the rest of us NORMAL people...it affects us. Badly. Also, to say that everyone in the game is a cold blooded thoughtless killer is inaccurate. I mean, I myself, feel nothing when I kill someone in the game...but that's because I don't feel empathy for someone in a game. That might not be the case for someone else. -

I like the idea of consequences for your actions. Most games now you can kill indiscriminately, and there are no consequences for you in the game. I guess that lends credence to the people that say that video games desensitize you to mindless violence. To have a game that makes you responsible for your actions in that game would be amazing. I would like to see how it would play out in a game though, how the mechanic would be integrated into the game. -
Yeah good thing...because you'd be an asshole with power....and that would be a bad thing. So what if they talk about things they want to see? Who's it hurting?
-
One word: HELICOPTERS. PLEASE GOD HELICOPTERS.

I love how the server hosting rules have given all the power to the players. So when you kick someone to do something with your server....you owe them an explanation. Awesome.

Why is it getting out of hand? Because people aren't saying what you want to hear? They're giving good advice...but you don't want to hear it because it's your way or no way. Sad. -
