    I'd like to ask if someone could explain how base damage works? The idea is to edit base damage from grenades/ammo/melee and/or increase structure durability, but I couldn't even find where these variables are stored... Please help xD

    Hello there. I've been trying to do some mod editing and got stuck with -filePatching option... It doesn't seem to work as in A2... What you need to do to be able to load unpacked mods? RePBOing and relaunching on every edit is cancer... I've read bunch of BI official wiki on related topic and it confused me even more...
  4. Hello DayZ Community! Just a quick post about I finally got stable DayZ SA server up and running. Server is client mod free and there is nothing that ruins hardcore survival gameplay like traders, safezones and crap like that. Server Name: MAD GUNNERS LAND [EU/RU] [1PP/HARDCORE] @ riexc.lv Server IP: 80.232.245.48:2302 50 Slot Time: Full cycle x3 Features: Mod Free Obviously 1PP only and no crosshair Adjusted zombie spawns - keep silence in cities Custom loot table with high tier weapons spawning in specific locations and other changes Reworked stamina - to make it more realistic Lowered blood and health regeneration - if you are wounded you should feel the consequences Buildings can be dismantled only from inside (to keep high building costs at balance) You won't be forced to fix your boots every 20-30min - wear is now more realistic TO DO: Custom map locations Custom events Further loot adjustment Hosted by riexc.lv : Server is hosted in Riga, Latvia and is running on our own powerful hardware and high bandwidth internet connection

    Limiting direction change when sprinting

    Is there any topics that describe how inertia will work? So much hype about melee combat, but I haven't seen info about this one. Or I've just missed it xD
  6. I've been thinking about this for a while, and finally decided to make a post... consider this as feedback/suggestion. Suggestion itself is quite simple: completely block or hard-limit moving direction change when sprinting and/or disable sprinting with raised gun. Unrealistic zig-zag runs are just irritating, making sniping and single-shot guns nearly useless (it depends on your luck rather than skill). The only effective counteraction for this is "spray and pray" with 90% chance to ruin everything on your target. I know that stamina in upcoming 0.63 update should particularly fix this on long distances, but still every noob with IZH43 who choses to bum-rush into building will have relatively good chances (should have ~0%) against even well-equipped player in protective position. However I'm very uncertain about stamina implementation, as I understood it will slow down average speed of players on the map... combined with unusable cars (and it doesn't look like smth will improve in near future) this may turn game-play very slow and boring as you will spend much more time running between cities. I really miss pragmatic long range combat and realistic CQB in SA and thats why mostly I still choose Mod over SA... actually why to invent something AGAIN if you can just port ArmA2 moving mechanics into SA? Your thoughts? P.S. A little reminder: players still need single/auto switch (tired of using custom mouse commands), and fast reload option for single-shot weapons (IZH18/Bow/LongHorn)

    Also about 0.61 patch... What the hell is happening with hypothermia?? I already got that it's broken on accelerated time servers (rain=death if no buildings around), but just what the hell? Are all characters coming from africa (or wherever there is hot weather) that they cannot survive temperatures below 10 degree Celsius and die in 30 minutes? As I live in similar climatic zone it seems really stupid to me. Making campfires and changing clothes becomes irritating! I agree that temperature should be something to worry about in dayz, but cmon... hypothermia insta kills you? Could be if dayz setting was more like Syberia winter with -40 dergee. Why hypothermia not just causing respiratory disease (and this would be logical)? P.S. Should I post it into suggestions? In my opinion that is obvious and easy solution and I don't get why devs are adding more clothes/wolves and other useless things before getting core features to work?
  8. Desync-It's problem for nearly all servers with population over 40 or maybe just result of distance to the server (despite I have 100mbps up/down connection) Well, I hope there is somebody left in east EU/Russia who might have interest in playing vanilla :/

  11. Hello there! Foreword... After Standalone release I've stopped supporting my little DayZ community. But after huge disappointment in SA I didn't want to hear anything about DayZ at all for quite a long time. After a ~year long cool down - here is my attempt to revive that I've once had. For now my goal is to provide Stable/HighFps/WellProtected DayZ server. Server settings are [REGULAR|CH:ON|3RD:ON|SIDE:ON] and Zed damage set to 4x (2x by default) So here it is: IP: riexc.lv port:2302 Everyone is welcome!
