The US server is a fantastic experience. Been playing on it for 4 months and have NEVER died to a hacker. Admins are on all day and even though they have access to the map tool...they obviously don't abuse it because we have tents and vehicles that are rarely looted/stolen. The skill level is high. People aren't camping bambis in Cherno...they are playing intelligent Dayz. The server also has dynamic heli crashes, so there isn't the server restart loot grab effect...no matter where you are on the map, you have a decent chance of seeing a chopper crash around you (a BLAST if if you haven't seen it before) and getting some nice gear. Gear isn't rare, so it's relatively quick to recover from a death...it doesn't ruin a week of hard work to get sniped. A few hours and you are back in the fight and ready for REVENGE. The admins also throw some extremely cool custom events for community members...motorcycle races, escort the VIP, admins abducted, etc. I'm sure there are some nice communities out there, but BB is so much fun. I googled for this a bit and can't seem to find anything...does anybody know of a solution to being able to rebind the number keys on the keyboard and stop getting the commands menu system? Or rebind the F keys? If not, what do you use for things like screenshot, record, etc? It seems there are so many binds in the game for things like map, compass, nvg, binoculars, etc...I'm having a hard time finding a few available keys that are next to eachother without moving other binds around (and having to retrain my brain/fingers to find them). Thanks.

As mentioned, hack free is not likely...best you can hope for is active admins, whitelist, and a private hive. I've been playing on Balota Buddies US46 for 3 weeks now and haven't seen any hacking.

I haven't been playing Dayz for a long time, but played enough to get spawn killed a few times, summoned out to the ocean, watched everybody in the server suddenly die a couple times. I started trying to find really low population public servers just so I could avoid griefing...but when there are just 4 people on the server pretty much that takes away the fun associated with being concerned about running into other players. Eventually I learn about private hives and whitelisting and registered for BMRF and LaughingMan...I tried logging in but the Whitelisting wasn't working yet. A buddy of mine found Balota Buddies and I got onto their teamspeak and BOOM...I'm talking to an admin, he's cool and quickly sets me up...and even though I'm relatively new to dayz he's answering every question and extremely helpful. I have to say that I'm completely impressed with the Balota Buddies guys...they don't try to enforce any sense of morality on the server, the server is admin'd competently, and seem to always be available. Here's the link...if anybody is dissatisfied with public servers or looking for a change come from another server and try it out...what's the worst that can happen? Lol.
