    1st/3rd Person Suggestion

Not sure if this has been suggested, tried searching..didn't see it..got bored. Anyway..I'll be brief. Players can use 3rd person..however, when under fire their view is forced into 1st person. A kind of suppression system for the SA. With the recent gamescon devblog it seemed that a winowing FOV based on proximity to objects would be a lag issue. Figured this might be easier on the code plus allow for the terror of being suppressed into 1st person unexpectedly or equalizing an ambush if sending semi accurate return fire. If this is a repeated suggestion feel free to delete.

What is so fun about this game

You'll laugh, you'll QQ, you'll wonder why your pants are slightly damp on the backside. If you are not prepared to accept defeat, relish victory, and run like hell from time to time then you may have the wrong game. Did I feel bad for my first kill..who surprised me by rushing through a bush, in the middle of the night, when I was unawares he was right in front of me? Nope. I also don't feel bad for nabbing kit from a vehilce, tent, dead body either. It's anarchy, where you fill in the blanks and dodge bullets/zeds while doing it. I can't say enough about this game. It is epic in so many ways.

What if we removed the crosshair?

I say remove the crosshair, however... If it could be set so that at certain ranges the effectiveness drops significantly then keeping it would not reduce the overall game experience. For example..within 5 meters the grouping is random within a 12" diameter circle, double for 25 meters, and nearly ineffective past that. Not sure if this is code possible, may end up defeating aim hacks because it would make the weapons useless past a certain point. Saw some concern for activating and here are my thoughts on that. When attempting to activate or selecting interactable items the weapon is dropped to a guard position and a hand icon pops up to show you where you are looking as well as options for interaction. With or without the crosshair removed, this would add a bit of realism as well as transition from activation to animation.

How will we lose zombies after bugs are fixed

Scraping zombies, ie-losing LOS, will certainly be an option. At this point it's all speculation as the zombies will most likely be built from scratch and so their movements, aggro, speed, abilities, will all be different. Making them more dangerous and plentiful but without the laser guided precision when chasing survivors would be a change. Cities would be more dangerous while losing them in the woods would become easier. Personally I'd like to see shamblers rather than scramblers, or a mix. Based on the info it looks like they might become persistent to the environment rather than spawning on survivor range. That alone is a plus.
  5. 1st post on the forums..so.. o/ I like this idea but balance is key. Taking off your pack to access gear, thus it ends up on the ground, would make for interesting prospects. Waiting for a player to do so, then scaring them off and stealing their gear? Epic. Having to do so in the middle of town with axe crazed madmen wanting your beans? Terrifying. Time sinks to eat, drink, etc..would make the player consider whether their position is tennable to snarf some grub or get the extra bandage, mag, whatever from their pack. My main concern would be whether a can opener vs. knife would add to the experience. Too many time sinks and you spend the whole day doing inane crap rather than progressing in the game. I can think of alot of things that would be interesting, but would they add to the experience? Bathing? Brushing your teeth? Taking a dump? Combat jack? Sure, they sound cool but going down the complexity rabbit hole is not always good for game appeal. I can't wait to hold someone up while they are butt naked as they try to change into their ghillie/camo/bunny outfit. Something for the SA indeed.
