Optional team based friendly fire.
JayTee13 replied to whiteboy greg's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yes because DayZ would be better off as a team deathmatch game that happens to have zombies. -
Actually I think that could be solved with certain ammo types. As in rubber bullets to knock out/cripple another human. They're working on ammo types I think. So that may already be solved.

Dude. 3rd Person is just fun and it's not like you HAVE to use 3rd person.
-
It's not moddable in the first place plus even if it was we can't just port it over just because it uses the same engine. We'd have to customize it and modifiy the mod just to move it to a different game. Not worth it in my opinion.

you can technically get infected but you just end up dying without some antibiotics. It would be fun if you just lose control of your character and turn in to an NPC though. Would be more realistic I have to admit but it's not worth the bugs that may come along in my opinion.

Many reasons why we need the bandit, survivor, and hero skins back.
JayTee13 posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I have a lot of things to say but I'm just going to skip to the point so hopefully someone from the DayZ crew read this :) You're going to want to read all this. Reason 1: It's hard to tell who's more likely to shoot you , help you, or be cautious about. I've been shot at multiple times by people I thought may be friendly. Reason 2: How else will we know how to keep track of our humanity? How will we know EXACTLY whether we're good evil or somewherei n between with no humanity meter. Reason 3: I understand bandits have less camouflage but that matters very slightly since it's extremely hard to spot just about anyone hiding in grass anyways. But that's a price of being a psychopath. Reason 4: It takes away the pros and cons of taking a side. Ex: Cons. Being a bandit causes you to be shot on sight by a lot of people but that's realistic because you're a known killer. Pros. You strike fear and suspense when a survivor sees you maybe in a distance or point blank with the suspense of knowing they might die and having to start over again. Especially on no respawn servers. Pro 2: If your murder/ raid is successful you get the dead guys stuff which is like a jackpot in this game. Ex 2: 1 Pros Being a hero may not benefit you but it will benefit others and helps keep a little decency and control of who you would be. 2 Not to mention people may want to help you in return of your services as in having your back or giving you a reward (happened to me multiple times because I am one of the few good guys left) 3 if you've ever played fallout 3 you'd know your good deeds have rewards and people with be grateful for the effort you put to help people (like I said happened to me numerous times) . Cons: People may take your kindness for a weakness and god knows bad guys don't like good guys. Reason 4: Skins and their looks don't just define who you are. It matches your characters personality as well. Bandits dress like evil psychos and survivalists. Regular characters dress as people just trying to survive day by day. Heroes dress like they're here to help. If you know what they look like you most likely know their intentions. Reason 5: A lot of people have been complaining since they were removed. And I doubt many people were happy about this. Reason 6: This whole game is highly based on trust and it makes it extremely harder on who you want to trust. I mean think about it before they were removed would you rather trust the guy looking like a psychopath hiding his identity with a full face turban/ski mask. Or the guy with a backpack full of medical supplies dressed like a normal person in civilian cothing trying to survive with a sense of humanity. Reason 7: The new skins look absolutely awful :P. No offense I mean I love this game more than ANY other zombie game or maybe even game I've played but... c'mon man lol. -

As I've said before. I don't care if they disagree with my ideas. I care about how they're acting. Fortunately there are more people here that have grown up and clearly you're not one of them. -
Bases (and new barricades), spawning, friend spawns, NPCs (merchants)
JayTee13 posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I would love to see this but I want to hear your feedback on what some problems might be. For balancing I was thinking maybe you need a specific tool (1 use total) to mark a position on where you want to respawn. And the ability to spawn next to a friend with their permission. And bases, if you find a place good for fortifying maybe some new barricades. The wire is good but it's very glitchy in certain areas, sandbags work properly but are god awful barricades to be honest. Boarding due to game physics is clearly out of the question. Walls (like with metal spikes and barbed wire.), trip wires, barbed wire fences. You know all that stuff. Doesn't have to be barricades. Maybe decorations like zombie heads on pikes, run down old couches, storage for supplies and things you don't want to lose. Basic things like that I would love to see in the standalone version. Maybe even a type of currency and trading system. I want your feedback on this and let me know if you see any issues in this topic. -
Well there is rain and sometimes rain mixed with lighting. But I'd love to see some fog and some different cloud patterns.

Btw thank you to all who gave feedback in a friendly mature manner I really appreciate it. I find it annoying when I get replied to by people way too into this stuff. Really don't get why they judge people so harshly over a topic on the DayZ forums. -

I don't care if they disagree. Some of them I just being immature and hostile which is why I want to delete it. -

True. Appreciate the feedback guys. Think a lot of you could have been more polite about it though. it was a simple idea that I wanted feedback on. No need to get so hostile over it after all it is a game. @p4nnus you need to grow up. @Clumzy thank you for being mature and direct about this. @CreepySalad thanks for the feedback but I'm not going to go away because I just wanted a simple opinion on it. @Sappa thank you for the polite input, I really appreciate it. @BigMike I did use the construction in scenarios so with luck hopefully they can use some stuff from there. But it definitely has to come with a cost or else the whole map will just turn into a bunch of military forts. -
More ways to gather food and water
JayTee13 replied to Rick the Survivor's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Harvest able crops, plants, small plants that grow raw tomatoes (disgusting but very good and healthy for survival). Cannibalism technically already in 2017 mode but in that one you cut people open and just take human flesh out of their inventory and cook it. Would be a lot better if you could just plain eat their raw corpse. Much more appropriate for psychopathic bandits too. You know. All that shit. -
Buzzards flying over dead bodies.
JayTee13 replied to amlaborde@windstream.net's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well they did do that in the PMC DLC in Arma 2. So it would require people to buy and download that so I highly doubt they will. -
That's actually a GREAT idea. I would love see some bandit/guy I hate and knock them out and then bury them alive LOL! Capital Punishment at it's best. Either way it's a great idea.
-
Well the game is based on realism/the most realistic military simulation game known to man. So I'd say it wouldn't really matter too much and I'd do anything to get rid of as many hackers as possible.
-
Hey Clumzy thanks for your feedback on my Topic. Anyways I think it's annoying but it's realistic. Like have you ever watched a street fight on youtube or one in real life. Impact to the brain by taking enough hits to the temple/vital head areas can disorient the brain rendering someone unconscious. When I was 15 I was boxing and I took a lot of hits and ended up unconscious by this really big guy. Same basic case with a horde of zombies smacking you in the face. It doesn't really take as much to knock someone out as you might think. It also happens during blood loss which is realistic because lack of blood flow to the brain causes you to lose your mind. Literally. Shuts off activity in the brain which shuts down your nervous system therefore making you literally lose your mind and even body functions. Seems realistic enough to me. The bleeding I admit is annoying like unless they're somehow clawing your arteries and cutting them open instantly.

With all honestly that's a waste of control space/time. You probably need a less sensitive mouse I have had no issues like that with my weapon at all. Have you tried keeping your gun down for the majority of time? Press Right CTRL + R. That's what I do when I'm not around zombies/being shot at by bandits :P
-
There is. In the 2017 mode at least. If you find a dead human/zombie you can gut them/eat their flesh. Needing a hunting knife of course.

Okay yes. I understand how a lot of you would disagree okay. @Clumzy you really didn't have to be so rude about it. I'm trying to be polite here. And clearly you misunderstood the point of this. The DayZ bandit/ hero skins weren't technically removed. They're just the same thing with different colors. @CreepySalad I agree with you but that was not my intention. I guess the real reason I posted this is because I'm tired of having the same skin for every single character honestly. Maybe we should be able to choose our outfit. @Helicopter Hunter yes you are right. There should be some difference other than every player looking the same with different colors. Hopefully selective/customize able. @Trizzo be a little constructive man you don't have to be all like "Take out everything the OP said and make it opposite. I'll be honest with you I was tired and had about 10 shots in me and I got really p*ssed at some dude who shot me on DayZ. Let me rephrase this whole thing. I absolutely HATE. The skins. They're the same guy with different colors and slightly different faces. The skins should be customizable and a humanity meter only view able by yourself specifically. Are you all satisfied now?
